The Second Wave

As Lucifer and Death appeared in their bedroom, Lucifer quickly said to her, "Oi! What exactly were you planning to do to the brat's brat?"

Death scowled at him and said, "That little brat called me an old hag! Why won't you defend me, Luci!? I'm your wife for your father's sake!"

Lucifer facepalmed and said, "Honey, just because I didn't want you to kill her doesn't mean that I didn't want to defend you. I just didn't want one of the possible people that are from the demi-human race die before they could even make an offspring for my world."

Death humphed at him and turned around whilst jumping on their bed. She was then surprised at the voice saying, "Ouch!" when she landed on said bed.

Lucifer and Death looked at the covers in shock and quickly removed the covers, only to see Ayane rubbing her head when Death's hand landed on top of it.

Lucifer and Death then looked at each other as Lucifer mentally said to her, 'Hey honey?'

Death rolled her eyes at him and replied, 'I can hear you, Luci.'

Lucifer then turned towards Ayane and then back at Death, 'We never really gave Ayane a room for herself, noh?'

Death robotically nodded her head and said, 'You might be right on that Luci.'

Before their conversation could even continue, Ayane unknowingly interrupted them as she said, "Ummm, ano... Lord Lucifer, Lady Death, why are you guys staring at each other for a long time?"

Lucifer and Death smiled wryly at each other and simultaneously turned towards Ayane as Death said, "Ayane-chan, why haven't you gotten a room for yourself?"

Ayane started to get nervous and kept quiet at Death's words while both Lucifer and Death started to get suspicious about why Ayane turned so nervous.

Lucifer didn't want to press on the poor maid but was made to when he noticed Death glare at him, "Ayane-chan, why don't you tell us already? It really is suspicious about why you don't want to get a room for yourself even when we have so many rooms in the house and we have been here for a week already."

Ayane looked at Death in the eyes and nervously said in a squeaky voice, "Ummmm, I just wanted to, uhhh..."

Lucifer and Death patiently waited for Ayane to finish her sentence but it seems that she wasn't quite ready to say it yet as it has already been a few minutes since she tried to say something.

But to Death and Lucifer's surprise, it was neither of them who snapped but Zoe who was eavesdropping on them. Lucifer and Death didn't really mind when they sensed Zoe just standing there but was surprised that she snapped at Ayane.

"AHHH!!! I can't take this anymore!! Mom! Dad! Ayane wants to tell you something!" and aggressively grips Ayane's forearm and dragged her towards Death and Lucifer who was standing in front of the bed.

Lucifer raised an eyebrow when he saw what was happening and thought, 'I think I know where this is going and I'm not liking it...'

He then kept silent and listened as Ayane said, "Ummm, Lady Death?"

Death hummed questioningly at her and said, "Yes, what is it Ayane? You have been stuttering for a while now."

Ayane's face flushed at her words and turned even more embarrassed than she already was and said, "Ummm, I just wanted to say that, I, uhhh, I-I love you..."

Zoe smiled triumphantly at her friend's words, Lucifer felt the unfairness of the world, while Death looked at Ayane incredulously. Lucifer then thought, 'This is so unfair! Why can she make a harem while I can't? ME!? The great Lucifer bloody Morningstar!'

Whilst Lucifer was wallowing in his despair, his control over time unknowingly leaked out and started to fast forward time on the outside of the room.

After a few seconds of silence, Lucifer immediately straightened up and looked outside their window and watched in shock as the sky turned red. 'Wasn't it just night time just now? Why the hell are the waves appearing now when it was timed for tomorrow? Don't tell me, was it a butterfly effect!?'

He hurriedly went outside of the room and went towards Fitoria's and Artemis's presence. When he arrived in front of them, he was quite shocked to see them move in such a fast manner while ignoring him. He knew that they wouldn't ignore him due to them not eating any of his food yesterday evening.

Lucifer finally noticed what the problem was. It was him. He was the cause of their sudden speed and the sudden appearance of the waves. It was because of his control over time went bonkers due to him drowning in the unfairness of the world.

He chuckled in amusement and started to make the time-flow of the world around them normal and looked at the direction of the epicenter of the waves and said, "Now, it's time for stress relief."

After a few seconds of flying, he finally arrived in front of the three useless heroes. He then surveyed all the people that were there and didn't see Naofumi and thought, 'Huh? Is he still going to that little village? But he wasn't framed for rape this time though? Why does he even avoid Ren and Itsuki?'

Lucifer then shook his head off those thoughts and started walking to one of the mobs and squished its head with his bare hands and said, "Ahhh, finally!" and started to go on a rampage.

A few minutes later of squishing, kicking, punching, and exploding all the mobs, Lucifer finally stopped and said, "Why do I feel like blowing up this miserable planet?"

The heroes and their party looked terrified at what Lucifer said and quickly trembled in fear. Fortunately for them, Lucifer immediately added another statement, "Hmmm, Nah! Too much trouble. Death would keep nagging to me about too many souls in her domain and all that shit."

The party of humans sighed in relief at what he said and turned towards the only enemy left in their surroundings with cautiousness. Lucifer then looked at the... wait, was the boss of the second wave a Chimera? Huh, why the hell is it so... small?

He then looked at the party of heroes and sidekicks and then back at the Chimera and thought, 'Why don't I just give this little guy to them? This shouldn't be too hard for them, right?'

Lucifer then looked at the party and the Chimera one last time and flew towards the little village Naofumi was going to save. As he was flying towards the village, Lucifer heard a chorus of shouts coming from the direction of the Chimera and chuckled in amusement.

He then ignored the other heroes and continued onward towards his person of interest, 'This brat will be one of the pillars of my kingdom. Whenever I'll be bored or have nothing else to do then I'll just wage war on other planets that I'll come across and assimilate that planet in my inner world. I'll let my kingdom do all the dirty work while I'll just revel in all the chaos. Life won't be fun if there's no war, ain't it?'

After a few seconds more of monologuing, Lucifer finally arrived in the village and was quite surprised to see Naofumi getting along with the knights, 'Okay, now this is what I call a butterfly effect. How the bloody hell can Naofumi be buddy-buddy with most of the knights if they are supposed to hate him except a butterfly effect?'

Naofumi turned tense as he heard the sound of flapping of wings. He expected a monster-like bird to appear but was relieved to see Lucifer. He then thought more about it and pale, 'Why the hell am I relieved to see Lucifer!? And what is he actually doing here?'

Naofumi then walked towards Lucifer in a relaxed manner and said, "Ah, Lord Lucifer! What are you doing here?"

The knights behind Naofumi froze whilst Raphtalia looked at Lucifer in an indifferent manner at first and then happily waved hello at him when she saw that it was actually him.

When Lucifer landed on the ground, he retracted his angelic wings and walked towards Naofumi leisurely and said, "I was actually around the corner and wanted to meet your scrawny ass when I sensed you here. But I wasn't really sure that it was you that I saw because you're actually buddy-buddy with the knights behind you. So, what exactly happened to you when I left the throne room kid? I never actually got to ask you that."

Naofumi gave him a nervously chuckle and said, "I was actually almost framed for rape a few days after you left, Lord Lucifer."

Lucifer raised an eyebrow at that and said, "Almost? What exactly happened to make it not happen?"

Naofumi then turned towards one of the knights and said, "I made a friend in one of the knights and was spending time with him and a dozen people at the time of my supposed crime."

Lucifer then looked at the knight he was referring to and saw that it was actually the boy that always followed Naofumi before the third wave in the Light Novel. 'What was his name again? Never mind that, I'll just call him Flaky-Boy!'

He then looked at Flaky-Boy indifferently and then at Raphtalia who was giving him an emotionless look, "Baby Brat..."

Raphtalia gritted her teeth at that and said, "Scummy Old Man!" whilst puffing her cheeks.

Lucifer quickly turned towards Naofumi and said, "Did you teach her how to swear?"

Naofumi uncharacteristically shook his head in anger and said, "If I ever know who was the one who taught her how to swear like that, then I'll shove my new [Spike Shield] down their throat!"

Lucifer looked intrigued by the brackets on the side of the [Spike Shield] and whispered, "Interesting... so the subtitles have a new feature when mentioning special objects, eh?"

Naofumi ignored Lucifer's mumbling and walked towards Raphtalia angrily and quickly grabbed her wrist while saying, "Who taught you those words?! I'll beat the shit out of them!"

Raphtalia looking like a deer caught in headlights started stuttering out an answer but couldn't make out any words.

Seeing her situation, Lucifer couldn't help but chuckle in amusement and started to saunter off towards Flaky-Boy's direction when he saw Raphtalia glare cutely at him.

He then ignored the piercing gaze on his person and continued to walk towards Flaky-Boy and said to the frightened young man, "Hey! Heard you were the reason why Naofumi wasn't framed or something?"

Seeing the Flaky-Boy's face up close, Lucifer saw that his appearance was; light brown hair, brown eyes, lanky looking body, and the regular knight's outfit. But the most noticeable thing on Flaky-Boy's person was his expression and it had only one thing present showing.

Pure and unadulterated fear.

Seeing the fear on his face, Lucifer felt like trolling the little boy and conjured black flames around them while sporting a menacing aura. He then added his Devil Form with horns to spice things up and smiled 'devilishly' towards Flaky-Boy.

But it seems that Flaky-Boy couldn't handle all the fear that was put inside his heart and started to produce bubbles on his mouth as his eyes rolled back in fear and promptly fainted.

Nodding in satisfaction, Lucifer then turned towards Naofumi and Raphtalia with a bright smile while sporting a thumbs up.

His expression strained when he saw Naofumi and Raphtalia ignoring him as Naofumi was busy berating his daughter while the said daughter was busy looking like a kicked puppy.

While shaking his head, Lucifer looked at the other knights with them and scoffed as soon as he saw the knights huddling near a house while looking like their time was numbered.

Seeing that he had nothing more to do here, he unfurled his wings turned his body towards the direction of his home. As he was about to flap his wings, the skies suddenly turned blue as if the waves never really happened.

Lucifer then looked at the blue skies and smirked, "How convenient," and flapped his wings as he flew away.

As soon as Lucifer was gone, the knights gave a sigh of relief while Raphtalia glared 'hatefully' at where Lucifer flew off.

She then thought, 'Wasn't it because of you that I got scolded by Naofumi-sama for a long time!? I'll give back at you Lord Lucifer even if it's the last thing I'll do!'

What she didn't expect was a voice to sound off in her head, 'Good luck with that brat. But don't forget that I'm the Devil. Just because I'm on vacation and am a little friendly with you doesn't mean that I'll let you do whatever you want.'

Raphtalia's face paled a little at that which Naofumi quickly caught on. He then quickly closed the distance between them and started worrying over her as a complete overprotective father would.

Raphtalia couldn't help but hate Lucifer for giving Naofumi an idea that she was like his daughter and not like a lover. The only thing that she could do right now was to shout, "I HATE YOU SO MUCH LUCIFER-SAMAAAAAA!!!!!!"

While Lucifer was flying leisurely towards his home, he couldn't help but smile contentedly as he heard what Raphtalia just said, "Ahhhh, another miserable little brat who got what they deserve. What a good way to cheer me up."
