Prologue

*Knock Knock*

The bathroom was full of steam, Lu Lan was showering when her peace was interrupted.

"Mu Bei, I've told you before. I want nothing to do with you, get that through your head and go away."

Lu Lan continued to shower, not giving the interruption another thought.

The knocking did not stop however, increasing in volume and getting faster with every iteration.

Lu Lan had no choice but to end her shower, boiling with anger.

"You better have a good explanation for this."

Lu Lan wrapped her slender body with a towel, and rushed to the door.

As soon as she unlocked it the door opened with a slam, hitting the wall.

The brisk air from the door, now agape, blew her hair to the side as she fell back from shock.

Mu Bei towered over her staring with bloodshot black, obsidian eyes that were so wide it wouldn't be surprising if they tore.

"W-what do you want!? Why are you here ??"

Lu Lan was slowing inching back, not taking her eyes off the clearly dangerous man for even a second, incase he did something reckless while she wasn't looking.

"You know why I'm here. You know very well." He said, his voice dripping with malice.

"You think you can play with people's hearts and get away with it? Did you think that no one could do anything about it?" His dark eyes glared down at her.

"Did you really have to come all the here just to try to scold me? We were never together, what I do is none of your concern." Lu Lan retorted quickly, regaining her composure.

"This isn't your place to be. Leave, you are not welcome."

"Do you really think you can force me? Do you know how I feel?" He took a step towards her.

"How you feel is none of my concern. You're trespassing, it'd do you well to leave before I call the police." Lu Lan did not cower even though the man was very obviously thinking irrationally at the moment.

"You acted like loved me, you were an angel. Where is that Lu Lan now? Was it all an act?"

He kept pressing forward, step by step. They kept moving, step by step, like a game of cat and mouse, inching towards the balcony.

"You used my position to your advantage, elevating yourself using opportunities you only had because of me."

Step, Step, still slowing closing in on her.

"Was it nice? Using me until you were satisfied? Are you not guilty?"

"We were both adults, who used who? You used your status to force yourself into my classes. Did you think I didn't know?" Lu Lan sneered, feigning nonchalance.

"You're very confident. Do you think you're think you're in control right now?" Mu Bei, smiled wildly, showing his bright teeth that were so white it was uncanny.

"I have the whole building surrounded, if you managed to escape my hands I'd be greatly surprised."

Lu Lan looked down from the balcony and saw many small silhouettes on the ground that was illuminated by the streetlights.

"You can't think you'll get away with this." Lu Lan finally realized that this has all been set up.

"Do you think it'll matter if I get found out? Closing a mouth is very cheap." Mu Bei smirked, closing the distance completely.

He grabbed her chin and forcefully pushed it up, making her look him in the eyes.

"Why don't we put an end to this little game. Give up and come with me willingly, you'll live a good life in my villa."

They're fully pressed against the balcony, Lu Lan has no where left to go. She can imagine how her life would be at his villa, trapped like a caged bird.

She attempted to push him but he was too sturdy to moved even an inch by her strength.

Instead he tightened his grasp around her wrist and began to pull her towards him.

Lu Lan sees no way to escape the situation, and after a few final considerations she leaps forward into him.

Mu Bei smiles widely at this but before he could even laugh his eyes widened at what happened.

Using the surprise which caused him to loosen his grip on her wrist she pushed him once again.

This time however it was her who was pushed backwards. Her back slid over the balcony, her foot narrowly missing being caught by Mu Bei.

As she plummets towards the ground her life flashes before her eyes, time seemingly pausing for her to recollect.

She remembers her unfortunate childhood, making friends in primary school, riding her bike around her school to delay getting home by as much as possible.

It all seems so far away now, but then time really pauses.

------------------

Lu Lan continues to fall but instead of flattening instantly upon impact, she lands as gracefully as a feather.

The sky seems to brighten as she hears a voice enter her ears, "So it's over now. Ahh, it was such a good show."

Her confusion was evidently shown on her face at this bizarre situation, anyone who went through this would feel the same.

"What? Who!?" Lu Lan calls out to disembodied voice.

"Stop playing games, Lu Lan. Not many people are satisfied with this ending, our ratings may drop."

This however only made her even more confused, she sat on the ground, looking at the sky with a questioning gaze.

"Can you explain this all to me please?"

"I'll play along. You're Lu Lan. Simple." The voice in the sky said with an oddly friendly tone, as if they were aquatinted.

As if it could read her expression the sky finally explained itself.

"Something seems off about you. But I shall explain anyway." The sky said, seemingly cracking.

"You are a host of our Godly Recreational Entertainment Advance Troupe, just called 'G.R.E.A.T'. In other words you're a host on this television network broadcasting to the entire universe. Oh, it's done now though, this show has met its end."

The clouds in the sky seemed to condense into a droplet, which fell to the ground, bursting into a tall handsome young man.

He had stark white curly hair, and glimmering iridescent eyes shining in hints of all colours. His skin was a milky white, so smooth that it would put any idol to shame. He stood next to her looking down with a bored, lazy expression.

"And I'm your manager."
