Liz took another step closer to Gigi. Even though there weren't many lights on, she could observe Gigi's beautiful face perfectly, her eyes were watery and her lower lip had already started trembling. She didn't care much if Gigi started crying, it was not the thing that was going to make her happy but the fact that she was able to open up, even a little bit, made her feel lighter.
Gigi felt like all of the emotions she had been feeling during the last couple of weeks were ready to come out of her mouth, she felt ready to tell Liz how she was feeling but at the same time she wanted to protect herself and control the situation as much as she could. After all, people didn't call her a control freak for anything. She was divided between telling Liz her true feelings and hurting her even more. So she did both.
