Chapter 61: Shocking Discoveries

*Beep* Beep* *Beep*

A beeping sound rang inside Miyamura Izumi's mind as he was eating breakfast with his girlfriend, Hori Kyouko. Noticing his flinch, Kyouko put her hand on top of his and asked,

"Are you okay?"

Izumi nodded,

"Yeah. I just received an alert from one of my drones. Freid was spotted entering Gran Gruen Volcano. I have to go." Izumi quickly replied as he got up from the table.

"For what?" Kyouko asked.

"If I want to steal the knowledge of his Ancient Magic, without anyone knowing, now is my chance. This is also a chance to get another Age of God's magic without going through the Labyrinth," the boy said.

Kyouko nodded,

"How long will you take?" she asked.

Izumi gave her a more-or-less hand sign,

"Between thirty minutes to an hour. It may even take less time. Although, I'll try to be fast," he said.

Kyouko was silent for a moment before nodding,

"Then I'll wait for you here," she said.

Izumi suddenly had an idea,

"Actually, why don't I teleport you to the mansion in the Orcus Labyrinth. There, you can train your skills."

She thought about it and nodded,

"Alright! I also wanted to train my skills."

Izumi grinned,

"Great, let's go!"

They quickly left the inn and Izumi opened a portal to the mansion, in an area where no one can see him, through which Kyouko walked through.

"Alright, I'll see you soon," Izumi said before giving Kyouko a quick kiss and closing the portal. Izumi took a deep breath,

'Alright Freid, I'm coming for you.'

Izumi closed his eyes and looked through the camera of the drone he left behind. In his mind, a screen opened up, and he saw what his drone saw. Through the tunnels of the Labyrinth, he saw Freid bringing numerous monsters with him.

'Seems like he's planning to ambush Hajime and his party. Although it doesn't seem like he got the Space Magic yet.'

If Izumi wanted it, he could have killed him and been done with it. But this demon was crucial to him since he was the main leader of the invasion of the Heiligh Kingdom. To Izumi, this man would be his pawn for the downfall of Ehit and his religion in this world. Therefore he had to let him live until then.

Izumi saw him taking down monsters with frightening efficiency thanks to his own monsters created with one of the Ancient Magic: Metamorphosis Magic.

Metamorphosis Magic allows the user to remake the form of a normal being and reform them into a different form. Normally, it's used to remake a normal organism and turn it into a monster, or even manipulate the magic stone of a monster and remake them. But the true power of this magic is the ability to 'interfere with any organic material'. Meaning not only animals, but it's also possible to remake plants or intelligent beings and reform their structure as needed. Even byproducts of organic material, like paper or food, can also be manipulated by this magic. The magic stone which gets created during the process is just a byproduct of the process.

This magic is DXD's equivalent of Annihilation Maker which is the Longinus-tier sacred gear that allows one to create any monsters the user imagines from their shadows. It is allows considered one of the biggest bugs in the Sacred Gear System with the potential to destroy the world if used right. In Izumi's opinion, that sacred gear is one of the most broken things in his world along with Telos Karma and Innovate Clear. Seriously, one can literally affect the cause and effect of almost anything and the other is a boot-leg Reality Marble without the ability to bring anything outside!

Izumi chuckled and shook his head before concentrating on the feedback of his drone. Right now, he was finding a way to isolate Freid without his all of his monsters raising hell. He didn't know if the monsters have a conscious or not.

Finally, Freid entered a particular narrow tunnel with just enough room for his monsters to pass through one by one.

'Now!'

Izumi quickly caster his portal spell below him. He soon fell and blistering heat slammed into him as he landed on the dragon Freid was on.

"What!" the demon let out when he saw an intruder on his dragon.

Izumi quickly made a wall to block the other monsters' passage before enveloping the dragon's legs with Dark Matter. Izumi then cast Gravity Magic to increase their weight until the monsters dropped to the floor without being able to move. It tried to flap its wings, but Izumi also dropped weights on them. All this happened in less than two seconds.

The dragon let out a roar, but he could do anything as the tunnel was too narrow.

Freid got up and turned around quickly before assuming a combat position.

"WHO ARE YOU! How were you able to rest on Uranus!?" he shouted at Izumi.

Izumi raised an eyebrow,

"Did your friend not tell you? I'm pretty sure Hajime took out his arm."

it was then Freid widened his eyes in shock.

"It's you. You're the other irregular. The one who brought down a meteor," he said as he realized who he was talking to.

"Yup! That's me. Your friendly neighbourhood esper-mage, Miyamura Izumi."

"Why are you here?" the demon asked warily.

Izumi gave a smile that could send chills to anyone,

"Oh, but you see? You have something I want."

"You want? What could I have that you possibly want?"

Suddenly, Freid found himself trapped in Dark Matter from his head down.

"What are you doing!?"

Izumi kept his grin as Freid began to float and was brought in front of the boy,

"What I want is..." the esper-mage placed his hand on the demon's forehead, "your knowledge."

Izumi then cast his memory spell to comb through the demon's mind in search of the Ancient Magic's knowledge as well as any information about the demon society. When he finally found the knowledge about Metamorphosis magic, he quickly absorbed it before searching for information about the demon society. Since Freid was a supreme commander of the demon race army, his authority was second to the demon lord which means he is a goldmine of information. Suddenly, Izumi stumbled upon a shocking discovery: the identity of the demon lord.

'What the fuck! How is Yue's uncle the demon lord!?"

Unfortunately, Izumi had only read Arifureta until the part where Hajime and Yue get the Concept Magic as their final reward.

"Holy shit! Things just got more serious. What the hell is Yue's uncle posing as the demon lord? I thought he loved her, I even saw the Sealstone's memories. And who the fuck is Alva and how is he connected to Ehit!?"

So many questions, so little information. Izumi had discovered a lot of information that changed his view about Tortus. After absorbing every information he could find, he let go of Freid.

*Pant* *Pant* *Pant

"W-What did you... do to me!?" he struggled to ask as he caught his breath.

The spell was not easy on him as Izumi didn't bother making it comfortable for him. He's his pawn, not an ally.

"You don't have to worry about that since you won't remember any of this," Izumi said with a neutral face.

"Wh-"

Freid couldn't even finish asking his question as Izumi placed his hand on the demon's forehead again. He quickly rewrote the latter's memories by making it seem that they had stumbled upon a trap and made him and the monsters sleep for a few minutes. His mind-related spells have been strengthened by the Spirit Magic acquired at the Divine Mountain. Izumi also gained some new spells he could play with.

Quickly discarding all the Dark Matter used, Izumi opened a portal to the mansion and walked through it before closing it.

A few minutes later, Freid and the dragon woke up.

"Ugh. What happened?"

Looking around, he finally recalled a memory.

"I see. I must've sprung a trap. No matter, in the name of our Lord, I shall acquire the Age of God magic from this Labyrinth. Onwards, Uranus!"

The dragon roared and began flying forward with the other monsters right behind without knowing the true events that had transpired.
