0018: Such an old consort

I called Devon's name twice, thinking this man would move and get scared of that name, he didn't even move an inch. His creepy face kept smiling and that freaked me out.

"Devon!!" I yelled out that name for the third time. Why the hell is that arrogant guy not showing up when I needed him?

"He is not going to come?"

I gasped in realization. "Have you killed him?!" Has Devon found his match? Is he here to kill me now?

"Please don't kill me. I promise you my blood isn't sweet. It is as bitter as an herb. Please don't kill me."

His eyes swept to the bandaged wound on my stomach. Is he going to suck out my blood from here?

"Nooooo...." I burst out in tears. "please don't kill me. I promise you I am not sweet as Devon."

"Ray, what are you doing?" I heard Devan's voice from the door.

"Devan, Devan! Please save me from this blood sucker. He is going to drink my blood!!" I cried for help.

Devan pulled me towards himself and quickly I tried to hide myself behind him. "Ray, are you trying to scare her?"

"I did nothing to the pathetic girl, and she is already crying. Such a fragile insect."

"Stop scaring her Ray."

"She scared herself. I only came here to speak words to her, no harm." He shrugged his shoulder.

"No Devan! I am sure he already ate Devon up. Look how scary he is." I pointed at the scary scars on his face.

"No one ate me up Leticia."

.

Behind Devon was Clarabelle. She had previously walked with Devon to see the girl she is to train. She was exited to walk side and side with him. And getting towards the the room, he suddenly stopped, then his walking intensified.

Standing by the door, his face shows displeasure. Clarabelle didn't realize his change of expression, her face was stuck watching the scene unfolding with Devan, Ray, and the little girl whose face wasn't shown because of the way she hid well behind Devan.

"No one ate me up little girl." He spoke up, then walked in, accompanied with the lady escort.

"Devon?" Leticia quickly popped her head out, she hopped out of the bed, and embraced Devon. "Oh! I thought you were killed by this scary looking man."

Devon was surprised with the sudden turn. He could hear the loud thump his heart made. This did make his heart flutter and weird inside.

While behind Devon was a fuming woman. Her face shows displeasure. But Devon made it clear to her that this female is not closer to him. Then why is he not pushing her away.

Leticia unlocked with him. He poked his cheeks. "Take him out of here please. Any minute with him give me creeps."

"Ray is a friend."

"What?!" She exclaimed. "He is not a friend, he looks like some mortal enemy. He has a scary scar on his face, which means he must have killed so many people in his life."

"Yes he had."

She burst into tears again. "Why are you crying now?" Devon frowned.

"He can't stay with me, or he is going to eat me alive. He was saying words to me, and I immediately knew he is going to kill me one-day. Please..." She crawled back to Devan and said to him. "Please take me away from him. You are more of a good listener than that rude Devon, please take me out of here, far away from him!"

"Okay." Devan turned to floor at his brother, whose face shows no expression.

"You are not allowed to go anywhere Miss Leticia."

.

This strange woman popped out of nowhere, then walked towards me. Oh, her face looks so familiar. And I hate the familiarity.

"Who are you?" I questioned, but instead of answering me, she frowned at me like I was an enemy to her. "Who is she?" I muttered to Devan.

"She is the lady consort."

"Who is that?"

"Miss Leticia, please stand up on your feet. You are a lady." She commanded. I pouts my lips, staring at her in confusion. Why is she ordering me around. I don't like her now. Oh, I now remember. I knew her face looked really familiar.

"You look like my stepmother."

"Stepmother?" She raised her brows in question, as she stared at my face unbelievably. My stepmother also loved looking so young. She uses so many skincare for her face just to look young and charming. But that doesn't change the fact that she is old already.

I moved my head to take a look at Devon. "Never knew you like oldies. You have a weird taste Devon."

"What did you just call me?" The woman widened her eyes in shock. Looks as if I have just stained her dignity. Well, this is not my world where I would act as if cat had caught my tongue. I can die anytime soon in this place. So I can insult anyone I wish to. Including this woman who reminds me of my stepmother.

"I said you are old. You look fifty."

I heard a chuckle from the scary guy, then from Devan. The lady consort face flushed, as she turned her head to look at Devon, then back at me. Is she trying to win him over? So she is not his girlfriend. Well, that's good. A handsome face like his deserves someone very young and innocent like Eris.

"Okay, enough of the child talks now. You have to stand up on your feet and be a lady."

"And what if I don't want to?" I fired back.

"Leticia!" Devon scolded me. I scoffed at him, holding on to my wounded stomach.

"I am wounded, I can't stand up."

"Being wounded doesn't mean you cannot be a lady. They are a lot of things a woman are supposed to know and do. If you are hurt or wounded, that doesn't mean you can't work. You will have to stand up on your feet to work and serve your husband,"

"But I don't have a husband." I cut her off.

"But you will soon have one. You are old enough to have a husband. I am very sure you are past twenty."

"And what about you, do you have a husband?" I questioned her.

"And that's none of your business."

"I think before you start ordering others, you should order yourself first. You are old and still single. Wait, who are you waiting for?" I turned my head to look at Devon. "Are you waiting for Devon to tell you he loves you?" I frowned at her. "Even if I wish to get married to anyone in this Kingdom, I will definitely go for Devon. and if the dickhead doesn't agree, I will go for his brother. These are the two people I knew before I knew anyone else."
