System...s?

In the slums of the capital city Kingsmith, of the Rayscord Empire, a sick boy just woke up from an illness that caused him to go unconscious. But the 'boy' who woke up wasn't the same boy from before.

"Ugh… Finally, I woke up." Said the recently awoken boy while looking exhausted.

This boy was Dante. After succumbing to drowsiness and falling asleep, the only thing that was in his mind was the two images of the dragon and spear. He dreamt of the images for what seemed like hours and unlike most dreams, he could remember the time that passed in the dream. The beautiful green haired woman, the transparent throne which changed colors for him, and the two images, he remembered all of it.

At this point he was quite certain that what had just happened wasn't just a 'dream', but something more important. What that important thing was, he didn't know because the green haired woman didn't answer any of his questions!

Anyway, after sorting his mind about the previous dream he turned his attention to his surroundings.

"Where the hell am I?" he said, looking around the shabby cabin he found himself in. The cabin had no door, broken windows and only a blanket which he was currently laying on. Then a noise rang through Dante's head.

[Ping]

[Welcome, host!

This system is here to support you and your endeavors to capture the capture targets! Would you like to accept?

<yes>]

"Huh…" Confused by what the hell just happened, he took a second to think and realized. HE DIDN'T EVEN HAVE A CHOICE!!

This reminded him that also didn't have a choice back when the error message showed up on his computer.

"You know, while I do like interesting things, I also like my freedom! Haa… shit." He shouted, while glaring at the sky through the whole in the roof.

Not having a choice, he pressed yes and started to read the next screen.

[Congratulations, you have gained the support system!

Functions: {Information} {Capture Targets}]

[Ping!]

[You have received an invite for the {Market System}!

Would you like to accept? <Yes> <No>]

"Well… I at least have an option this time." At this point Dante was just going with the flow while not putting much thought into…well…thinking. He was pretty confident that the green haired girl from the dream had the answers to what was currently going on. So, he decided that if something sounded beneficial to him, he would just accept it.

Following his thoughts, he pressed <yes> to accept the {Market System}.

[The host has chosen <yes>. Please wait while the Market System gets integrated into the Support System.]

[Ping!]

[Congratulations! The Market System has been fully integrated into the Support System. It is now functional.]

"My god, this is giving me a migraine." Said Dante while he held his head in his hands from all of the notification sounds. After waiting for a second to see if there would be any more notifications, he decided to sort his thoughts.

'Okay, let's calm down. HuuuHaaa…' He took a deep breath to regain his composure before continuing.

'Alright, better. So, first, I'm obviously not at home. So, let's figure out where I am first.'

Having come to the conclusion that finding his whereabouts was of utmost importance, he started to think about how to find out where he was.

'I would rather not go anywhere for the moment before I know where I am. I wonder if the system has anything that can help with this? If it doesn't, I don't have much of a choice. Haa… I've sighed more in the past few hours than I have my entire life…'

Seeing as the system called itself a "Support" system he decided to ask it if it had any idea where he was.

"Hey, system, do you know where I am?" He said, having a hard time coming to terms with him talking to…nothing.

[Would the host like to transfer this body's memories to his own?

<Yes> <No>]

Realizing that this would be the quickest way to gain information he quickly chose <Yes>.

[Initiating procedure…]

"Agh! Damn, this hurts!" Dante was suddenly hit with an excruciating head pain and was forced to cradle his head in his arms.

After about 2 minutes of this unbearable pain, it finally subsided and gave Dante relief.

"Huff…Huff…Huff. Well at least I know where I am and who I am now. A warning would have been nice!" He shouted feeling wronged.

[You didn't ask about that, host.]

Hearing the system's words, Dante felt his eyebrow twitching in annoyance, but he quickly focused back on the new information he had obtained.

All of the information that he gained through the memories reminded him of something and he quickly realized it. This world he was in was the world of the game Grand Roses! Elves, beast folk, demons, and more, they were all real and living.

"System, this is the world of Grand Roses, right?"

[Indeed]

After gaining confirmation from the system that this world was indeed the world of Grand Roses, he felt calmer. While he was still confused and unsure about a lot of things, he was at least familiar with the world and some characters…or…people…in it. Getting a boost to his confidence about the situation he was in, he decided to spend a bit of time sorting through his memories, and this is what he figured out about himself.

His birth name was Jackson, a 9-year-old boy, and he didn't have a last name. The reason for this was because his mother abandoned him when he was 7 and since his father died before he was born, he was alone. Since then, he has been living in the slums and working under a bandit group, he was only ever used as bait and for petty crimes. Overall, this dude's life sucked.

"What the fuck! I didn't have to be some noble or anything, but really! I have nothing! It's like they want me to die, but I won't, you bastards!" Shouted Dante indignantly, determined to live a good life.

After cursing at the sky for a little longer, he decided that just sitting on his ass won't change anything about his situation so he would have to make a proactive approach to change his life.

When Dante made the decision to change his fate from being a nobody-beggar kid that didn't even come up in the story of Grand Roses, he started looking for ways to grow his strength. He reasoned that strength was the only 'absolute' so it would be best to raise it if he wanted a good life. So, when he was confused on where to start, he remembered that he also had the Market System, and he hadn't even looked at it.

Following his thoughts, he quickly opened the 'System' and chose the 'Market' option which has been there ever since it was integrated into the system. He was quickly welcomed by the Market System with a message.

[Welcome to the Market System!

The Market System is a system that spreads throughout many dimensions and allows 'users' to put their goods up for sale!

If you need help, please use the guide provided.]

Right after he was finished reading the welcome message, another, more grand looking message popped up.

[The 'user' has been invited to become a 'VIP'!

Would you like to accept? <Yes> <No>]

"Well, I don't see any downside." Said Dante, while he chose <Yes>.

[Your status has successfully been upgraded to 'VIP'.

'VIP' benefits:

Priority on the market page

Personal rooms during annual auctions

100,000 StarCoins

Storage

Monetary converter (Affection points → StarCoins) (10 Ap = 1 StarCoin)

We hope you enjoy your future expenses!]

Seeing the benefits that being a 'VIP' brought him he was glad that he accepted it. Having priority on the market itself was a huge bonus but with all the other benefits it gave, made being a 'VIP' something that was obviously not easily obtained.

Scanning through the benefits it brought, most of them were obvious what they did, that was until he noticed the 'Monetary Converter'. He knew what it was supposed to do just by reading the name, but what confused him was what it was converting.

"Affection points? How do I get those?" said Dante, confused. Without him directing the question towards the system, it automatically answered his question.

[Affection points are points you earn through interacting with this world's inhabitants. The Capture Targets will be the best source of affection points.]

"Ah!... I forgot about the Capture Targets. But I looked at that tab earlier and it didn't show anything?"

[Capture targets will only be shown in the system after you have interacted with them.]

'Great, so I can't even prepare myself…'

Grumbling, he turned his attention back to the Market System and scanned through it.

After scanning through it, he was just confused. There were so many weapons and elixirs to choose from, which was nice, but he didn't know anything about any of them! So, he decided to ask the System what it recommends.

[Would you like the System to run an analysis and make a recommendation?

<Yes> <No>]

He chose <Yes> and proceeded to wait.

[Analysis complete!

Recommends:

{-Lenny's Foundation Elixir-

Quality: 10/10

Price: 80,000 StarCoins

User's Rating: N/A(NEW)}

Stock left: 1]

'Hmm… That's expensive… Haa… The system called itself a 'Support' system so let's just trust it; not like I would know better.'

Dante knows how important a strong foundation is because in the game if you fail to make a sturdy foundation it makes the later advances harder. This made a lot of players mad, and they stopped playing.

Deciding to take the system's recommendation to heart, he bought the elixir. At first, he was confused on how it would show up, but it ended up showing up in his 'storage' that he got from being a 'VIP'.

Taking out the elixir from his storage, he opened the lid. To his pleasant surprise it smelt sweet.

After giving the yellow looking liquid a quick sniff, he brought it to his mouth. And almost choked.

" *cough* *cough* *cough* Ugh… The smell is so misleading…"

Unlike the sweet smell it gave off it tasted terrible, the only thing he could compare it to would be spoiled milk.

Finally finishing the horrid tasting elixir, he sat there for a second before the system recommended something.

[Host is recommended to sleep after consumption of the elixir, as it will reduce the pain.]

Dante was thinking of resting anyway to try to get rid of some of his mental exhaustion, so this recommendation was welcomed.

Laying back down on the blanket that was being used as a sheet, he quickly fell back into a deep sleep.
