He wont wake up...

When Eva situated Dante on her lap, she started to think about her previous encounter at the lord's mansion.

'They didn't recognize me and thought I was an imposter until I showed my aura, why was that?'

The lord should have been able to recognize Eva because even though blonde hair which she had inherited from her father is common, her violet eyes which she got from her mother were one of a kind, only her and her mother had those eyes. The only other person with such unique characteristics was Dante.

She had seen silver hair before but his pearly white hair but otherworldly, his eyes were strange too, blue eyes were the most common eye color but Dante's blue eyes basically glowed. Matter of fact even with Eva's beauty she was still jealous of Dante's features.

'Haaa… I already miss those eyes…' she thought.

At this point it would be difficult to say if Eva could live without Dante. They had only been together for a few days but the fight on the way to Blandon which Dante had a hard time with, had really pulled at her heartstrings, this feeling only grew during their date together.

Shaking off her yearning for Dante even though he was laying in her lap, she turned her thoughts back to why the lord didn't recognize her.

At first she had thought that she forgot to take off her disguise, when realizing that wasn't it, she panicked and thought something happened to her face and picked up a mirror to check. But what she saw wasn't her blonde hair and violet eyes, instead it was pearly white hair and glowing blue eyes just like Dante.

"What…?"

Seeing this, oddly, didn't scare her but made her feel closer to Dante.

"Fufu, Now we really look like siblings." She chuckled mischievously.

Even without looking similar to Dante, she still loved this appearance. White hair like no other and blue eyes that perfectly complemented it, as narcissistic as it sounds even she found herself attractive.

After coming to terms with her new appearance immediately, she decided to cultivate and wait until they arrived.

Diving into her mind space she was greeted by her (Mid) Bronze Core. Following the normal procedure, she started to spin her core and allowed it to be engulfed by her blood attribute. But she quickly realized that she was absorbing the outside blood attributes far quicker than before.

Looking closely at her core she noticed a thin layer of blue/white coloring coating her blood attribute. Attempting a few things on it, she learned that the strange coloring didn't act independent from her blood attribute but became one with it. She also felt her blood attribute was somehow stronger than before.

'Does Dante cultivate with just purely this attribute….Haha, what a monster!' She thought happily.

She knew Dante was abnormal but after experiencing how fast just a little bit of his attribute could do, she had a hard time imagining how fast the actual attribute was.

Without realizing how much time had passed, cracks started to spread and eventually her core shattered, revealing a larger bronze core.

"...Did I…break through…?"

It must be noted that she was a talent when it came to cultivation but even then it took her 2 years to reach the (Mid) Stage Bronze Core and expected it to take another 6 months before she broke through to the (High) Stage Bronze Core. But instead it took…1 day?

Before she had time to break out of her shock on her own accord, the words her outside body heard did it for her.

"Young miss, we have arrived at the town we are staying at for the night."

That's right, Eva was cultivating for an entire day without even realizing it, this did not come as a shock to her because it was very easy to get lost in meditation.

"Understood, is our lodging prepared?" She spoke in a tone that a noble should have, one that Dante has not seen before.

"Yes, young miss. A room has been prepared for both you and the young man."

"There is no need for two rooms." She spoke commandingly, she wouldn't let this opportunity pass her.

Telling the knight off, she took Dante into the inn and tucked him into bed. She soon followed and got into bed with him, falling asleep while spooning him.

***

The next morning Eva and Dante were back on the road and were expected to reach Eva's home by noon.

Nothing of any importance happened for the rest of the trip, Dante was still passed out and Eva was cultivating. With time passing, finally they made it to her home, the capital of the Astaril Dukedom, Polengrad.

While the carriage was approaching the Astaril family's mansion, Eva stuck her head out of the window and noticed her family waiting to greet her. She was eager to see them again too, especially after thinking she was going to die.

Soon, the carriage stopped in front of the mansion and Eva ordered one of the knights to carry Dante, while she greeted her family.

"I'm so glad you're safe, sweetheart!"

Her mother, Alice Von Astaril ran up to her in a flash and embraced her, tears falling from her eyes.

She had recently heard the news that Eva was attacked and was horrified, the only thing that meant anything to her were her two daughters, she couldn't imagine one of them in pain much less dying. So when she got a message from the Lord of Blandon, via artifact, one could imagine her relief and impatience to see her daughter again.

"Glad you're okay sis."

Her sister Aria spoke, tears also falling from her eyes. Her sister was normally cold to everyone but she cared about her family more than anyone could have imagined.

Eva then had to spend some time calming down the two before finally heading inside.

"So that's what happened…"

After entering the house, Eva continued to tell her mother and sister about everything from her meeting with Dante, her bloodline awakening, down to her change of hair and eye color.

Hearing the story, Alice and Aria started to shake because of how much danger their family member was introduced to.

"It seems we owe a great debt to that young man." Spoke Alice.

At first she was suspicious about him but after hearing from Eva that she had her disguise on when they met, she calmed down.

"Is there anything we can do for him?" Eva spoke these words while tears rimmed her eyes.

Just from her story alone, her mom and sister could tell how much she cared about Dante and how much the fact that it was her fault the way he was now, ate at her.

"Let's have a look at him." Alice said consolingly.

Walking into the room where Dante was laying, Alice and Aria were stunned.

"Why is this boy so adorable!" Alice said

"He's…Cute."

Eva was shocked, she expected this from her mother because she had always loved kids but her sister was a different story.

Aria was normally a cold person to everyone other than Eva and Alice, but here she was with a faint blush on her cheeks, looking at a boy she has never met before.

Noticing her sister's shocked expression Aria quickly turned her head and regained her cold features.

"Ahem… Anyway, I'll have a look at him real quick."

Snapping out of her new found adoration for the boy, Alice approached Dante and placed her hand on his chest.

After channeling her attribute into Dante for a moment she came to her conclusion.

"Well, when you bit him you… gave him your life blood." she said, still in her thoughts.

"What's life blood?"

"Life blood is something every vampire has, it is basically a portion of 'yourself' and if destroyed it could greatly harm you or even kill you. So, in this case if this young man were to die you would suffer a great backlash and maybe even become a cripple. Vampires normally only give it to their…spouses for this reason. It's seen as a marriage ceremony."

Alice finished her words in a low tone, so that none of the servants nearby would hear. If it got out that Eva was a vampire and gave out her life blood to someone, most nobles would consider her tainted, she most likely wouldn't be able to be married.

"Their spouses…" These words sent Eva into a world of her own.

She imagined growing up with Dante by her side, eventually getting married, having children.

"Hehehe…That's not so bad…" She let out a creepy giggle and muttered to herself quietly so her mother and sister couldn't hear.

"Are you okay?" Her sister Aria asked. She thought the reason Eva looked down was because she was upset with the revelation.

"Ahem, I'm fine… So is he okay?" Eva asked, snapping out of her ideal future which she was now dedicated to achieve.

"He's…Stable, yes, but I don't know when or if he's going to wake up. What normally happens when one receives a vampire's life blood is that the life blood takes up residence in their core, but instead what's happening to him is that his attribute is trying to integrate your life blood into his body. It seems that the pain of that integration was too much for the body so it went into self preservation mode and shut down. But it's missing something and can't finish the integration, hence he's not waking up."

As Alice spoke, Eva's heart fell into a state of self deprecation.

Dante had only helped her thus far. He saved her when she was being hunted, fought for her when she couldn't and he also mixed a little bit of his attribute with hers giving her a phenomenal increase to her cultivation speed. But what has she done for him, buy some clothes, get him a haircut, those are nothing compared to what he did for her. She even harmed him!

Before Eva had a chance to speak, a knight's voice rang out from the other side of the door.

This chapter was more centered on Eva and the journey because Dante is asleep. Writing like this allows me to give you a better insight to other characters, well character. Tell me what you think!
