A/N: Congratulations to Hasan_Shopnil for guessing the right answer! Yes it is the [Kaio-ken], a technique invented by King Kai who taught it to Goku. Mastering Kaio-ken isn't really hard and the only requirement is a good amount of ki control, which our MC has been training for almost a year now, though Tercres can only use x2 at the moment.

"In order for the transformation to take place, the biochemical glands in a saiyan's tail are responsible for initiating the Oozaru transformation, as they create the chemicals necessary for it."

Tomota said, using his pointer to indicate a a saiyan tail on a rotating holographic image of a saiyan.

"But for the sequence to start, the a saiyan needs to absorb at minimum 17 million zeno units (zn) of Blutz Waves through the retina of the eyes to initiate the transformation. Some of you may ask, 'What are Blutz Waves?', well Blutz Waves are found only in sunlight reflected by a moon."

A holographic moon appeared, taking its place above the virtual saiyan.

"In cases where there is no moon, a planetary body is enough and will reflect the same number of rays to initiate the transformation. The easiest way to achieve the minimum amount is to simply gaze at a full moon."

"In the event of landing on a planet during a planet conquering mission, do take into account the weather conditions at that time. If any clouds cover the moon and/or a planetary body during your time there, it would block some if not all amounts of Blutz radiation, rendering you unable to undergo the Oozaru transformation."

"However, since you guys are considered talented enough to be future elite saiyans and are receiving training, you must learn how to create a [Power Ball]."

A short animation of the moon being covered by clouds, followed by the virtual saiyan opening its palm. A bright greyish-silver ki ball formed above his palm, growing to the size of a basketball.

"We Saiyans realised that we were at the mercy of the moonlight on whatever planet we were on, unable to control the length of day or night. It was completely unpredictable and held our power at a disadvantage... until we discovered a way to artificially create our own moonlight."

The virtual saiyan then threw the bright greyish-silver ki ball at the sky. It flew a distance above the saiyan before stopping. Virtual saiyan then stared at the Power Ball above him, before undergoing what looked like a body reconstruction animation which took approximately five seconds to complete. In its place stood a seven meter giant ape with hulking muscles, which flexed as it breathed.

"By combining your ki with a planet's atmosphere, a sphere of condensed Blutz Waves is created. This sphere, or Power Ball, has characteristics similar to a full moon, acting as a fake moon by reflecting the requisite amount of Blutz radiation into the air."

"By firing it and then staring at it, the Oozaru transformation can be initiated anywhere and at anytime. However, you must remember that using the Power Ball is very draining on our ki reserves, and only lasts ninety minutes so it is primarily used as a last resort. It is preferable that you transform using a planetary body. Any questions?"

One of the kids, a saiyan girl that Tercres recalled to have the name Mizuna, raised her arm. Tomota looked her and then nodded his head as a sign of confirmation to speak.

"What happens if the enemy destroys our source of Blutz waves?"

Tomota nodded again before answering the question, "That's a good question. If the source of Blutz Waves (whether a full moon or a Power Ball) is destroyed, this would cause the saiyan to instantly transform back to their humanoid form. Another way is if the saiyan's tail is amputated though this is ill-advised for obvious reasons."

Three separate holograms appeared; one played an animation showing a virtual saiyan destroying the moon, reverting the other transformed virtual saiyan back to its base form. The other two showed similar results, with the exceptions of one destroying the power ball, while the other cut the Oozaru's tail.

"Now back to the [Oozaru] transformation. When one transforms, their power level prior to the transformation sees a ten times increase. In this form, the individual's strength and power rises in proportion, but their speed remains the same as it were before the transformation."

Tercres noticed that Tomota never mentioned anything about a saiyan's tail not growing back after surpassing the power of their Great Ape form in their base form, though it did not surprise him as most of saiyan history had been destroyed alongside Planet Sadala during the civil war that caused his ancestors to migrate off-world thousands of years ago.

'Speaking of civil war, I wonder if I will meet Shallot and Giblet in the future. I remember that they were descendants of the ancient saiyan Yamoshi, the first Super Saiyan God. They should have some divine ki right? Man ancient saiyans were so broken back in the day,' Tercres sighed, lamenting his ancestry as he listened to Tomota teaching.

"Our scientists have discovered that such an increase in power level is due to what they call primal ki. This is produced from when the chemicals produced in our tails, interact with the blutz waves absorbed through our eyes."

A huge 3D image of a brain appeared, rotating slowly as Tomota explained the process that happens behind the scenes.

"This sends a signal to our brain to transform as well as overloading our consciousness with primal instincts, leading to a loss of rationality as we revert back to our roots. This is to prevent us feeling the overwhelming pain that comes with our body breaking and reconstructing as we grow into The Great Ape."

"Due to this, untrained saiyans in this form turn berserk and destructive with a sweet tooth for ripping limbs off. This is fine if you're a low-class saiyan on planet conquering missions, however since you are future elite saiyans, you must retain our reason as you will be sent to planets hosting inhabitants with high power levels."

"With enough mind training, you can keep your minds after transformation, albeit still influenced by the primal ki."

"This way we are able to utilise the Oozaru to the fullest. Ki manipulation is still possible for minor things such as flight, though it would be quite hard to utilise it for ki techniques due to the large concentration of ki in your bodies. Shooting mouth beams instead is advisable."

"Remember that practice the creating Power Balls; two weeks from now I will see the results and hopefully one of you guys will have the first taste the power that comes with the Oozaru form. Class dismissed."

'Already?'

Tercres thought to himself. The class is was so intriguing that he didn't notice the time passing by. He had learnt a while lot of stuff that weren't explained in the manga or anime, such as the tails being actual glands that produce chemicals necessary for the production of primal ki for Oozaru transformation.

Of course he knew about them being important for the Oozaru transformation however, he didn't know why.

Anyways, with his ki control now it can't be harmful to take it a bit slow. Maybe he would learn something new that he missed due to speed-running his training.

A/N: Back at it with a new chapter. As you can see here this chapter is kinda info-dumping but it is necessary for the future plot. From my experience reading Dragon Ball fan-fictions, i found out that most of them don't set the foundation for their characters before they achieve their forms. They just get it.

And to be different, I did the opposite.

This way, you readers wont have to see any ass-pulling transformations.

Its been the first full week of exams for some of you. How was it? From what I've seen here in the UK, most people found it hard.
