Chapter 7
Vincent rubbed Daniel’s arm. “I wish I knew what to say. I really do.”
It was difficult to assess whether or not Daniel was crying, and if so, whether it was due to stress, sadness, or a combination of both. He certainly had a right to be upset. Then he heard a sharp intake of air. Daniel rubbed his eyes and looked at Vincent, who showed him a sympathetic smile.
“Can you travel back and forth? I know it’s not ideal, but—”
“That’s what I’ve been thinking. It’s a very expensive solution, and definitely not ideal. I’d miss so many of their milestones growing up.”
“Then the only other solution is to stay over there, where you can be near them and see them every weekend, or every second week, like other divorced couples do.”
