CHAPTER THIRTY-FIVE

Chloe's P.O.V

"The past couple days, there were times where maybe I thought you should have just let me go, and I know that's selfish, but I don't want to be the one who is dragging you down." He spoke slowly, the rain was loud against the roof of the car.

"Drag me down? I did all this so we could be together, you made me the way I turned out Colby, if it wasn't for you getting me out of that basement I would still be there and I would have never been at the place I am now. If it makes you feel any better I too was selfish, the doctors believed you were suffering more in the coma, then if I were to just, let you go." I confessed, he turned to face the steering wheel.

He had a look I haven't seen before as he spoke. "I guess we are both selfish in some ways."

I looked forward as well watching the lights off the other cars zip past us.

I nodded in response, he rubbed his face and shook himself out of it, and a loud long beep came from behind us, an impatient driver beeping at us to move forward or move out of the way.

He cleared his throat and put the car into drive and turned us around, we were back to driving again.

"There's somewhere I have to go before we go anywhere else." He says quietly, keeping his eyes on the road.

"Where are we going?" I asked, placing a hand on my stomach.

The twins were kicking a bit too hard, and an excruciating sigh came through his lips. "To see my brother."

"Are you sure that's a good idea?" I asked with worry.

"I can't look past this until I heard it from him." He stepped on the gas a bit harder as we began to speed around the corner against the slick streets.

"I think we are going a bit too fast, Colby, you need to slow down." I say, holding onto the handle that hung onto the roof.

"We are fine, Chloe, just let me drive." He demanded keeping his eye on the road.

The entire car squealed on its two wheels as it lifted us partially off the ground.

"Colby please we are going too fast we are going to spin out." I raised my voice.

He turned his head, his eyes flaring like a crazy person. "Will you stop screaming and let me dr-"

The world turned upside down, it felt like the world had stopped, a car in the second intersection flew into us hitting the bottom of the car, pushing the slightly tipped car up farther into the air, we were upside down all I felt was the cars door crush in my ribs hitting my head off the window and everything went black.
