CH 39: Man Faced Demon Spider

Everything progressed the same as the original timeline. That bastard of an overgrown piece of shit had attacked his "sister's" companions without a second thought. Although he didn't kill anybody nor had any intentions of it, his thoughtless and ignorant actions had always pissed Ah Li off. If not for the sake of getting the best benefits later on, he would have slaughtered the giant bastard right in front of Xiao Wu with the most painful and excruciating methods.

But alas, sometimes, it takes patience to get the best benefits. Having kidnapped Xiao Wu, the Titan Giant Ape no longer had any reason to stick around. After he ran away with the pedophile bitch in his hand, Ah Li, who was guarding Zhu Zhuqing who nearly got injured with his body, while his tails had formed a cocoon around them, looked down at her :"Are you alright?"

Although the chances of her getting injured were low, being seen in a good light wasn't a bad thing. After all, if he managed to ruin the relationship between her, Dai Mubai and the Shrek School, he could take away one of the strongest forces in their team, the Martial Soul Fusion Skill. If he could take that away from them, their strength would decrease significantly by a few folds.

And having the admiration and appreciation of such a beautiful and sexy girl with the potential to be a god was also quite a good thing. She was the only normal person in terms of personality and nature between the group of hypocrites, so why not let her have a normal life?

"Um, I'm okay. Thanks." She nodded as his tails unfolded, revealing the two inside. Seeing that there wasn't any danger nearby, the noiret let go of the beauty in his arms :"Seems like that Titan Giant Ape ran away."

Hearing Tang San's whispers to Oscar, he concealed his smirk before walking towards them and whispering :"Let me guess, you want to use Swift Flight Mushroom Sausage to go after Xiao Wu and that Titan Giant Ape?"

"Ah Li, I don't have time for this!" Tang San, with a desperate look, almost pleaded :"Please, just keep quiet so I can go after Xiao Wu! I know that we're not on good terms, but Xiao Wu is my sister. As long as you don't stop me, I'll forever remember this!"

"Stop you? What are you talking about?" He whispered with a smirk, confusing the two before putting his hand on Oscar's shoulder :"Make one for me too. I'm going to help." Hearing him, while Oscar was just a little taken aback, Tang San was outright shocked :"But why?"

"Although I don't like you, I guess we three can be considered as childhood friends and now, as classmates. I might as well help." He shrugged before glaring at Oscar :"Come on already, we don't have much time. Every second that we waste, who knows how much further away that guy will go?"

"Thank you." Seeing that instead of stopping him, the noiret actually wanted to help out instead, Tang San gave a grateful smile before turning to Oscar, a desperate look in his eyes :"Oscar, please."

In the end, Oscar was convinced and helped. While the others were taken aback when the two grew wings and flew, Tang San apologized :"Sorry, everyone. I have to look for Xiao Wu! Even if she's dead."

Just as the two were about to fly away, Ning Rongrong suddenly released her Martial Soul and activated her 2nd Soul Skill: Agility Amplification, providing them a boost of 30% increase in speed.

And with that, both of them flew away at an astonishing speed. Actually, Ah Li didn't even need Oscar's Swift Flight Mushroom Sausage. After all, the 1st Soul Skill of his 2nd Soul Ring: Abyssal Wings, would not only allow him to grow his own wings, but also increase his speed by quite a few times than what he had now.

After all, he didn't go with Tang San to help. No, he just wanted to have an excuse to get away from the team. Why? How else was he supposed to get his hands on the External Soul Bone of the Man Faced Demon Spider? With the team out of the way and a peace of mind, he could finally get his hands on what he had wanted for so long.

As the two flew while following the trail left by the Titan Giant Ape, Tang San looked at Ah Li with a look of appreciation :"Ah Li, thank you very much for this. I will definitely repay you-" However, he was interrupted by Ah Li.

"Huh? Shut up." With a glare, the noiret scoffed :"Don't misunderstand, Tang San. I'm not doing this because I like either of you, nor out of the goodness of my heart. I don't want to be your friend either. The only reason why I'm doing this is because we're schoolmates, and it's something of a duty to help each other. As I said, don't misunderstand. After this, everything will return to how it was once we find Xiao Wu. Now shut up and let's hurry up."

"... Um." After a moment of thought, Tang San nodded. Although, if they found Xiao Wu safe and alive, he was planning to try and make their relationship with Ah Li better. After all, even if he had suffered and had been beaten up a lot by him along with Xiao Wu, since he did decide to help him in finding his sister, he was willing to put aside the grievance in his heart and start over with him.

Poor guy, how could he know that he was just being used?

"That's not really what you want either, is it? Why are you suddenly trying to help them?" Bibi Dong raised an eyebrow, unsure of why her partner suddenly decided to help out of nowhere. After all, both Tang San and Xiao Wu were their enemies. Their death would only benefit them.

"(My Instincts told me to.)" He made up an excuse :"(And as you know, my Instincts don't lie. So I might as well follow him and see why my Instincts are telling me to go with him. Who knows what kind of benefits we could get.)"

"Hmm..." she hummed thoughtfully. Honestly, she would be a lot happier if he left Tang San alone to die with his bitch. She would be even happier if he killed him here where no one would intervene. However, that would mean that they wouldn't be able to torture both of them in the future, taking the best pleasure out of the three options. So in the end, she could only sigh and nod :"Alright, whatever. Just be careful."

Although they did manage to fly quite a distance, the duration of the flight was just one minute. Which passed pretty quickly. As they descended, Tang San stumbled a bit while frowning, his face a bit pale because of the injury he suffered at the hands of the Titan Giant Ape.

"Watch out!" Suddenly, Ah Li shouted before grabbing him and pulling him aside with him. As he jumped away while dragging Tang San, something suddenly crashed down on where the injured boy was. Looking at what had attacked, the noiret barely managed to contain his smirk and excitement as he saw a 1,000-year Man Faced Demon Spider. One that looked to be over 2,000-years.

"Shit, it's actually a Man Faced Demon Spider..." Tang San cursed, cursing his luck in the meantime as he grew even more desperate. With how dangerous and vicious a Man Faced Demon Spider was, it would surely even manage to kill them if they weren't careful. However, they weren't here to hunt it. If they stayed to fight it, the chances of Xiao Wu staying alive would become lower and lower.

"Sigh, fine, I'll do it." Ah Li finally sighed, cracking his neck and confusing Tang San :"I'll stay and hold this Man Faced Demon Spider back. You hurry up and go after Xiao Wu. There's still a chance that she's alive, so go and find her."

"B-but the Man Faced Demon Spider is extremely dangerous... you can't fight it alone-" However, he was interrupted by Ah Li :"If you have the energy to yap around, you might as well use that energy to run after Xiao Wu, no? Now shut up and go. Don't worry, I can handle this. So don't be a nuisance and fuck off already."

"... Um, thank you." With a firm nod, Tang San quickly took off again, running in the direction that the trails led to. Seeing him running away, Ah Li finally smirked :"Finally, he's gone. Now I can find out why my Instincts were leading me to you."

"That's what your Instincts were telling you to find?" Bibi Dong mused thoughtfully :"(Yeah, that's right. Even now, they're drawing me to this Man Faced Demon Spider.)" Hearing Ah Li, she finally nodded calmly :"Alright, then go ahead and kill it so we'll find our answer. Still, be careful. Are you going to use your Orbs?"

"(Nah, let's see how I manage without them for now. I don't think that's needed anyway.)" And with that, he smirked as he stepped forward, releasing his Martial Soul without his Soul Rings and storing his trenchcoat in his storage tool in the meantime :"Well then, little spider, let's see whatcha've got!"

"Shaaa!" The Man Faced Demon Spider screeched before rushing towards Ah Li. As it leaped into the air and stabbed towards the noiret with his front two spider legs, the red eyed boy gave a bloodthirsty smile as he raised his hands, grabbing the spear-like legs before they strike him. With difficulty however. As their interlocked limbs shook, Ah Li laughed crazily :"Hehehe, now let the fun begin!"

As the two were in a stalemate, the Man Faced Demon Spider moved another two pairs of his legs with a screech, trying to stab the defenseless human. However, Ah Li's smile widened instead :"I have my own tricks too, you insect!" Suddenly, from his sides, two extra pairs of arms came out, one pair ordinary while the other clad in the same armor-like centipede carapace.

In the shocked face of the Man Faced Demon Spider, the new pairs of arms grabbed onto his incoming spider legs, stopping them in their tracks as well as Ah Li chuckled :'Damn, been a while since I've brought out my extra arms given by the Abyssal Centipede's Innate Ability. But nonetheless, they're as useful as always!'

"Shaaa!!" The giant spider roared. Since it couldn't kill the human with its legs, he would just bite his head off. However, the response received was another maniacal laughter :"Oh no, you don't!" Just as its head moved, so did Ah Li's centipede tails. But instead of going to block the mouth or move his head away, the tails grabbed onto the only two remaining legs. The ones that were holding up the giant spider.

"Shaaa?!" The Man Faced Demon Spider cried out in shock when its legs were struck out of nowhere, causing it to lose balance and fall. But just as it was falling, the tails grabbed onto the legs, and with a deadly grip on all the legs, Ah Li spun in place as the 1st Soul Skill of his 1st Soul Ring: Abyssal Strike, was activated :"Haaah!!!"

As he spun, the x71 boost in strength and defense allowed him to easily spin the giant spider along with him. Among the panicked screeches of the Man Faced Demon Spider, the noiret gave a particularly sharp twist, causing the spider legs to be ripped right off and for its body to fly away, hitting a giant tree, actually breaking it in half before sliding on the ground.

As it barely hung onto its consciousness, the last thing it saw was Ah Li's tail heading towards its head before it lost consciousness. As it died, its 1,000-year purple Soul Ring appeared before the noiret took out his sharp and deadly tail with a sinister chuckle :"Sorry, wasn't really planning to drag this on."
