"Ding, congratulations to the host for triggering a long-term mission: Kill the Child of Destiny, Tang San," the mechanical voice of the system echoed in Zhao Ming's mind. "Ding, the Child of Destiny, Tang San, has already developed hatred toward the host. Not killing him will lead to future troubles."
"Mission Reward: Unknown."
Kill Tang San? But Tang Hao could be a problem, Zhao Ming thought, frowning.
Right now, who knows where Tang Hao might be watching from? Zhao Ming feared he wouldn't have the opportunity to act.
However, since this was a long-term mission with no time limit, Zhao Ming had time to plan.
"What are you doing here?" Tang San asked coldly, watching Zhao Ming approach.
"Me? What else would I be doing? I overheard that Grandmaster took you as a disciple. You're still young; don't head down the wrong path," Zhao Ming said with a faint smile.
"My affairs are none of your business. Also, show some respect to my teacher," Tang San replied angrily, gathering milky-white soul power in his hands, turning them a jade-white color. He was ready to fight Zhao Ming.
Is this the Mysterious Jade Hand? Zhao Ming observed Tang San's hand transformation with curiosity.
However, Zhao Ming had no intention of fighting Tang San.
"Azha, help Xiao San take Grandmaster back to his room," Zhao Ming called to a small boy, referring to the unconscious Grandmaster.
"Okay, Boss," the boy quickly responded, helping Tang San carry Grandmaster away. Grandmaster's room was also in this building, just on the top floor.
"Boss, this new guy seems to have a grudge against you," Wang Sheng commented once Tang San and the others were gone.
"It's nothing. Maybe I was too harsh," Zhao Ming shrugged.
"Boss, you did nothing wrong. If Tang San dares to make a move against you, I'll be the first to teach him a lesson," Wang Sheng vowed, patting his chest. Having witnessed Zhao Ming's strength, he knew the new boss was no ordinary person.
With both talent and intelligence, Zhao Ming was bound to become a force on the Douluo Continent. Wang Sheng was ready to be his loyal follower.
After offending Xiao Chenyu, Wang Sheng realized that only geniuses and their followers enjoyed superior lives at the academy. His senior from the previous year also thrived after aligning with a second-generation soul master.
"Little Sheng, you're quite impressive. I appreciate you," Zhao Ming praised, patting Wang Sheng's shoulder.
Though Wang Sheng lacked talent, his character suited Zhao Ming. Perhaps he could help him in the future.
Just then, a clear voice came from outside, "Is this Dormitory Seven?"
Everyone turned to the doorway, their eyes widening.
A pretty girl stood there. Her delicate face was a rosy pink, reminiscent of a ripe peach, tempting one to take a bite. Her attire was simple yet very tidy.
Her long black hair was styled into a scorpion braid down her back. Her large, curious eyes shone brightly, and she held a set of new uniforms.
"Xiao Wu?" Zhao Ming's eyes widened.
Seeing Xiao Wu's real appearance, Zhao Ming couldn't help but criticize the anime adaptation from his previous life. Such a beautiful girl was turned into a country bumpkin—truly an eyesore!
Though Xiao Wu wasn't grown up yet, her loli form was also quite cute.
How did that poem go? Cat ears, small mouth, big eyes. Short hair is cute, long hair is flowing. Can give candy, play kissy...
"What are you staring at?" Xiao Wu snapped, noticing Zhao Ming's gaze.
"Ahem, sorry. I'm Zhao Ming, the head and boss of Dormitory Seven. What's your name?" Zhao Ming approached, looking at Xiao Wu.
Xiao Wu blinked her big eyes and smiled, "I'm Xiao Wu. My martial soul is a rabbit. A cute little white rabbit. And yours?" Her smile revealed two adorable dimples.
"My martial soul is a puppet. You probably haven't heard of it," Zhao Ming replied, smiling.
"Puppet? I've never heard of it," Xiao Wu shook her head, puzzled but not dwelling on it. "By the way, you're so young. How are you the boss here?"
"Because I defeated them all, so I'm the boss," Zhao Ming chuckled.
"Really? Then if I defeat you, I'll be the boss of Dormitory Seven?" Xiao Wu asked, excitement in her eyes. She placed her uniform aside, eager.
"Of course, but you might not be my match. I've already broken through to soul master," Zhao Ming said, shaking his head.
"What? You're a soul master? Are you innate full soul power?" Xiao Wu exclaimed. Only those with innate full soul power could break through so quickly.
"Yes," Zhao Ming nodded.
"Then I won't fight you now. I'll wait until I become a soul master in a few days. Then I'll be the boss," Xiao Wu declared, raising her small fist.
"Alright, I'll wait," Zhao Ming replied nonchalantly. Xiao Wu, a 100,000-year soul beast in human form, was also innate full soul power. But beating him wouldn't be easy.
After speaking, Zhao Ming lay down on his bed.
"Ah, this new bedding is so comfortable," Zhao Ming said, glancing at Xiao Wu, who seemed hesitant.
Bedding? Seeing Zhao Ming lounging comfortably, Xiao Wu felt awkward. She hadn't prepared anything like that.
Working students were poor but sensible, and a few quick-witted ones offered, "Xiao Wu, you can use my bedding. I can manage with just a blanket."
Another said, "Use my blanket, Xiao Wu. I can make do with a pad."
As the others extended olive branches to Xiao Wu, Zhao Ming remained unfazed.
Xiao Wu looked at the worn bedding of the working students. Though not filthy, they were mostly tattered. Zhao Ming's bedding was new and much nicer.
And there were carrots she loved...
Xiao Wu's eyes widened, drawn to the carrot scent. She hadn't had carrots since leaving the Star Dou Forest.
Reluctantly pulling her thoughts away, Xiao Wu turned to Zhao Ming, "Zhao Ming, can I discuss something with you?"
"What is it?" Zhao Ming smiled, knowing the rabbit had taken the bait.
A classic case of waiting for rabbits to come to you!
Xiao Wu suggested, "Your bedding is big enough for two. If we combine our beds, we can both use it."
"Together? Isn't that inappropriate? I'm not that kind of person!" Zhao Ming feigned reluctance.
You're not that kind of person? Does that make me that kind of person? With your lecherous gaze just now, who'd believe you!
Xiao Wu huffed, "I don't mind. What are you afraid of? Afraid I'll pounce on you?"
"Alright then," Zhao Ming agreed, secretly delighted but maintaining a calm exterior.
"Help me move the bed over. What are you standing there for?" Xiao Wu urged.
"I'm not a strength-based soul master. Where would I get the strength? And show some respect to your boss, okay? Never mind, I won't hold it against you today." Zhao Ming shook his head, moving Xiao Wu's bed over.
"Hey, can you do it right? Align it and fit it into the slot. These beds can be joined," Xiao Wu instructed, annoyed.
Zhao Ming looked closely. Indeed, the beds were designed to be assembled. But Xiao Wu's words sounded a bit off.
