Mara glanced at them and then asked Malacai, "Should we return now? Or are there other tasks you want to do?"
"This should be enough for now. Fiona, you can go back first. I will go to your home tomorrow."
Fiona still felt reluctant to leave. "Can I not go with you?"
Malacai thought about it, then shook his head. "Not now. I need you to stay at your home in case Zoe and the rest come."
There were other reasons, but Malacai didn't tell her about them.
Seeing Ezra at the party, Malacai realized she greatly cared about Fiona, despite what Fiona felt.
Malacai thought her movements would be monitored if she left the city.
"Alright then, I will leave first." She then turned and left, not caring what happened to Priscilla.
Looking at Priscilla, still in a daze, Malacai told her, "If you want to follow me, go with Fiona."
Priscilla looked at Fiona's disappearing back, hesitating for a moment before finally deciding to run after her.
