Malacai grinned, changing his hand from caressing to pinching, pulling, and then releasing his grip, creating a snapping sound.
"Why not? We need a vehicle."
"And since you know you just need to do what I ask, let's not waste time standing here. We still have a few places to go."
Nerissa held her cheek, which turned red from Malacai's action.
She remained puzzled, as the Malacai before her was different from the one she had known.
He seemed to change very quickly, but she would soon realize that Malacai hadn't changed at all.
He had merely altered his actions based on the new knowledge he gained from Mara's life as Ms. Reina.
They quickly reached a car showroom.
Nerissa wanted to choose an SUV, and Malacai agreed, but he insisted on making sure the car was large and could withstand various situations.
This required the salesperson to call a few places for extra modifications to the car.
The price rapidly increased, totaling $450,000, causing Nerissa to 'cry blood.'
She wanted to reject Malacai's choice, but the money was his in the first place.
Seeing her expression, Malacai smirked. "What's with that face? I'll tell Mara to send more later if you need it."
Hearing what he said, Nerissa felt relieved.
Since it would take time for the new car to be finished, Malacai told Nerissa to buy another car that they could drive immediately.
They purchased a luxurious, smaller SUV, a BMW X6, costing them $80k. They also paid extra to drive it right away.
Nerissa now sat in the driver's seat, having learned how to drive.
She had already planned to buy a car to drive her mother around. "So, where do we go now?"
"Let's buy a phone, then we'll go to my place."
Meanwhile, as Nerissa and Malacai went shopping elsewhere, a handsome man, appearing to be in his mid-twenties with red eyes and black hair, sat on a terrace.
He sipped from a cup and then set it down; the contents stirred - not tea or coffee, but a thick liquid, red in color.
"Darling, are you sure he is a Providence user? You know there are others with supernatural powers."
A melodious voice comes out from red, rosy lips. Her red eyes looked lovingly at the man in front of her.
"Lilith, I'm sure it's not like those witches. The energy I feel from Darius's body is just different."
"You think too much, Lilith. We just need to do what our husband told us to do," another woman said in a high-pitched tone.
She had pink pigtail hair and a sharp nose, with red eyes.
Compared to Lilith, who looked like a mature beauty, she appeared more like a teenager.
"Shut up, Kale. I'm talking with our husband here. You just don't have a brain; that's why you never think," Lilith retorted.
Kale rose from her seat, gazing deeply at Lilith. "I dare you to say that again."
Seeing both of his wives start bickering, Alaric sighed.
"Stop it. If both of you go at it again, this mansion will be destroyed, too. We just moved to this place today."
"Hmph… It's this brute's fault. She started it by taking out her weapon; I was just protecting myself."
Kale gnashed her sharp teeth, pointing at Lilith.
"You… You started it… first… And I told you to stop calling me a brute."
Seeing Kale almost lose it, Alaric pulled her onto his lap and began stroking her pink hair. "There, there, stop it, okay? Can you calm down now?"
Feeling the warmth of Alaric's touch, Kale closed her eyes as if nothing had happened before and began laying her head on his chest.
Seeing this, Lilith's eyes sharpened; she felt jealous but didn't say anything.
Noticing her expression, Alaric gestured for her to come closer, too.
Lilith stomped the floor, yet she still went and sat on his other lap.
Her eyes softened. "Still, darling, those defects keep making trouble outside."
"You should impose stricter rules on them. We don't mind you being with other women, but you're just spreading your seed everywhere."
Alaric chuckled. "I did that on purpose. Most problems can be solved with money, anyway."
"At least we found a new Providence user before he did."
His red eyes then sharpened. "That foolish wolf just doesn't know when to stop, even daring to cooperate with those Vatican witches."
"Those witches are inconsequential in the battle between Providence users. We can squash them anytime," Lilith chuckled.
Alaric nodded in agreement. "We need to hide Malacai for now, let him grow, and then we can try to surprise that foolish beast."
"But what about that woman? I doubt she'll remain idle as her grandson dies," Lilith questioned.
Kale, still with her eyes closed, suddenly chimed in.
"This time, Lilith, it's your brain that has a problem. What can that woman do against a real Providence User?"
"He may be new, but you should know better how terrifying their power can be."
Lilith didn't feel insulted, realizing Kale had a point. "Do you know his power, Darling? And his apostles? How many does he have?"
Alaric shook his head.
"From the information I've gathered, I only know he can control someone's body, but it's still unclear how he achieves it."
"I can do something similar by controlling their blood, and even that foolish beast can do it."
"As for his apostles, I know he has a few women around him, but none are confirmed as one."
"Didn't you give him a toy and money? Did you put some trap in them?" Lilith asked.
Alaric laughed. "I didn't do anything with those; who knows what abilities he has? Putting a trap is useless."
"But the mere fact that he accepted them is enough for me. It will make a little difference in his eyes when he meets the other one."
"Providence users attract each other; they will intersect sooner or later. And based on his personality, you know what his first impression will be like."
What providence do you think the other users have?
