Dogfight

The she-devil winked at Jimin and touched Jimin's arm. He immediately looked very uncomfortable and mouthed the words: Help Me at me. I just laughed and that's when Jae Oon turned around and glared at me like I was something she had just scrapped off the bottom of her shoes. She huffed and cried, "What's so funny? You want your face to be beaten up? I can get my girls to do that." I just laughed harder and started clutching my stomach. Gosh! She actually thinks that she can get her minions to beat me up?! Funniest thing I've heard all day! Well, that was until she slapped me in the face. By now, all heads were turned to us and for once, I didn't care. My eyes burned and I rose to my full height, towering over the bitch. "You went too far this time miss. You'll regret that..." I growled and took a step towards her. She shrank back immediately and started to back away with a terrified look on her face. I smiled evilly and attacked.

Chapter 23

Jinhee POV

Its June the fifth now.

It's been a month since I befriended Jungkook, and I think I love him.

Hell, give me a pen and a piece of paper and I might just be able to write down all those times he managed to make my heart flutter and my mind whirl.

He's a cunning one he is, I mean, I've had casual dates before, all set up by none other than my two best friends Taehee and Hyejin, but all the guys they picked were either too gross or just not my type.

What's my type?

Well I can truthfully answer you now that, my ideal type would be Jeon freaking Jungkook.

He's tall, handsome, sweet, caring and sexy all at the same time.

How the hell does he have so many split personalities?

He can be a cute little baby rabbit for one second, begging me to cook food for him, and he'll change instantly to a hot-ass flirt who'll stop at nothing to make sick jokes directed at me.

Does he like me more than just a best friend?

I don't know.

But I know that I like him, a lot.

When I fall and scrape my knee, he'll help me bandage it up.

When I'm down, he'll always know how to cheer me up, be it by cracking his silly jokes or taking me to the amusement park to relieve some of my stress.

When I'm basically struggling with all the shit that life has been chucking at me so far, he'll always find a way to make thing better for me.

He's my saviour, my precious angel.

I might not have been in love before, but I think this is what it feels like.

Ever had moments when you feel all warm and light on the inside?

Like you could actually fly?

How about times when you would feel all hot and bothered when he makes skin contact with you on purpose?

Those dark, hooded eyes that look as if they could swallow you up just by looking into them.

I get those feelings a lot, maybe also because cute Jungkook's words are as sweet as honey and flattering to my ears?

Or maybe because he's a hot-as-hell man who can spew words and sentences so vulgar and rude that it makes your skin erupt in goosebumps?

Anyway, I am now standing outside his house, with a small purple lunch box in my hand.

I rang the doorbell and Jungkook flung it open in under a second, like he knew I was coming.

"Jinhee!" was all I heard before I got squished into a towering mountain of muscle.

My cheeks flushed, as I tried in vain to free myself from his hug.

"Come on in!" he smiled at me, making my heart thump a hundred miles per hour.

"What's that? Is it for me?" he asked me, eyeing the lunch box.

As he greedily reached for the box, I slapped his hand away.

"It's for your mom. Not you."

He pouted when I said that, trailing after me into his mom's room.

I knocked on the door politely, and a soft voice answered, "Enter!"

I opened the door slowly, and was greeted with a wide smile from Mrs Jeon.

She had been reading a book.

She stretched out her arms and enveloped me in a warm hug, stroking my hair and saying, "Jinhee! What a pleasure to see you again."

I giggled slightly, "Mrs Jeon, you just saw me two days ago!"

She shrugged, "It felt like forever with my son around, trying to get me to go to the amusement park."

A loud, indignant, "Hey! Amusement parks are fun! I thought you wanted to spend more time with me!" came from behind me and I laughed.

Mrs Jeon's eyes twinkled with mischief when she heard Jungkook whining.

After the horrible attack on Mrs Jeon and Jungkook last month, she'd been getting much better, and was eventually discharged from the hospital feeling as good as new.

I can't say that she doesn't feel insecure when alone, but with Jungkook by her side almost 24/7 and me coming over frequently to keep her company, she settled down after a few weeks.

The man that escaped from Jungkook's house had yet be found, but the both of us gave very detailed information about the man.

How he looked, what he last wore and what he said to us.

Since then, things have been calm in the Jeon household.

Now, Mrs Jeon was bouncing with health and loved teasing Jungkook and I.

And...wait for it...wait for it...

"Jungkook! When are you going to ask Jinhee out?!"

At that, Jungkook was out of the room like a rocket.

Mrs Jeon sighed, "I'm sorry dear, my son is just so stubborn. He doesn't know that he's missing out on a great girl like you."

"It's okay Mrs Jeon, he doesn't have to like me. We can still be friends if he doesn't, just like how we are now," I lied through my teeth.

Jungkook POV

I know I shouldn't be eavesdropping on their conversation but I was curious.

"It's okay Mrs Jeon, he doesn't have to like me. We can still be friends if he doesn't, just like how we are now," I heard Jinhee say.

I smacked my forehead mentally.

Did I just get friend zoned?

No no no!

That can't happen, I'm already planning how to ask her out!

I know she loves surprises so I asked my hyungs for help.

They'd agreed to my plan last week and we were just finishing up the last touches for my proposal.

What's more is that, I'll be asking her out on her birthday, which is this Sunday.

I started sweating just thinking about it.

What if she doesn't like me?

What if she rejects me, thinking that I'm not good enough?

Cut it out. My brain told me.

She's going to love it.

Jimin hyung's words rang in my mind, and I relaxed immediately.

Even though he liked her, Jimin hyung still helped me to set up the perfect surprise for Jinhee.

I could tell he was sad, but the fact that he still went out of his way to assist me, just shows how much of a brother Jimin hyung is.

He always puts others before him, resulting in him getting hurt a lot.

I'm so grateful to have a brother like him, who I can count on to always be by my side.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Its June the seventh and the hyungs and I are now at Jinhee's house decorating the backyard nicely for her party.
"Hyung! Are the candles all lit up?"
"Done."
"V hyung, are you done with the light adjustments?"
"Yup!"
I nervously fiddled with my suit, feeling uncomfortable in the tight white shirt underneath.
"Don't worry Kook, she'll love it." Namjoon hyung told me while helping to set up the balloons.
I hope so.
Jinhee's mother came out from the back door and said, "Jinhee said she'll be back at 5 in the evening so take your time boys. It's only 1 in the afternoon."
"Thanks Omma!"
I shouted back while adjusting the candles once again.
"She won't reject you," a voice said.
Yoongi hyung.
"Uh, thanks hyung."
The peaceful silence was broken by a kiddish voice.
"Jungkookie hyung!"
"Oh Jinyoung ah!"
"Here!" the small boy thrust something into my hand.
A card.
Confusion swelled inside me.
"It's for you and Noona. Please take care of my sister and love her forever." he gave me his puppy dog eyes.
My heart melted at his affection for his sister and his cuteness.
"Okay. Hyung will promise you that. Thank you for the card."
I gently pried the card out out of his outstretched hands.
He ran off, giggling like a two-year-old.
I smiled when I saw the messy handwriting scrawled across the front of the card.
I opened it, only to find a picture of Jinhee inside it.
I gasped internally.
It's beautiful!
The sunset behind her in the picture illuminated her figure and emphasized on her facial features.
Every curve, every inch of skin was literally glowing.
I am so keeping this picture.
