Chapter 14: The oath and the truth (2)

Lucius was completely mesmerized as he watched the golden door which was shut open up. A few seconds later, the doors completely opened up.

Lucius tried to take a peek inside the room but due to the distance and the crowd of people, he couldn't see anything. So he just gave up.

"Well, I will know how the inside looks in just a few minutes since I am going inside very soon" Lucius mumbled under his breath.

Lucius just kept waiting for the inspector to lead them inside.

"Everyone, we will head inside now. Inside the room, there will be the statues of the heroes of humanity. If you dare to disrespect or even dirty their statues, then the consequences that you will face will be severe so don't act foolishly inside" Longan declared, his voice carrying seriousness.

Everyone, including Lucius, nodded their heads in response.

"I had no intention of disrespecting them in the first place," Lucius thought to himself.

The inspector and envoy began to walk inside the room of oath, the crowd also started to walk into the room slowly.

"Finally," Lucius exclaimed.

Lucius, Zoe, Luca, and Xin walked for some time until they appeared in front of the door. There was a golden line that was 3 meters in front of them. Beyond that was the room.

However, for some reason, he couldn't see beyond the golden line. He frowned slightly.

They soon stepped inside the room, the moment Lucius stepped on the golden line, a notification flashed in his retina, the moment he stepped foot on the golden line.

(The gate is determining your grade. If your grade is at least E grade then a golden light will engulf your entire body. If your are not grade is not E, then your body will be engulfed in a red light.)

(The gate is trembling due to your power and potential as a Divine Necromancer. The gate can be damaged)

(The gate is high grade defensive and grading device designed by a peak Divinity, it has tolerated your power due to your grade being low)

(It has stopped trembling and has confirmed that you are at least E-grade Divinity.)

(A golden light has engulfed your entire body)

Lucius' entire body was engulfed in a Golden bright light. He felt a calming sensation through his body as his body was engulfed in a golden light.

He looked around him, he spotted someone was engulfed in a red light. The moment their body was engulfed in a red light, they were thrown back by an invisible repulsive force.

"He shouldn't have tried to enter the room when he didn't pass the second round. I wonder what punishment he will face" Lucius remarked, a slight pity could be felt from his voice.

Lucius shook his head, he continued walking for the next few seconds. A few seconds later, he was surrounded by mist. He lost sight of others too. He ignored everything and kept walking.

Very soon, the mist started to fade away. A few seconds later, the mist cleared up completely. Lucius widened his eyes when he looked at the room.

"This room is so beautiful and mana here is so dense" Lucius exclaimed as he looked around him.

The floor and walls of the room were pure white, which was shining. There were golden lines in the walls that took the shape of a square, in the middle there was a picture of a blazing sun.

In front of him lay the statues of 8 figures who were considered the heroes of humanity.

Lucius looked around him and saw everyone was admiring the look of the place like him.

There were roughly 500 people in the room excluding the guards and the inspectors.

Lucius looked in front of him, the inspectors were looking at the crowd.

"Hey Lucius, didn't you also lose your sense of direction in the fog?" A voice resounded through his ears.

He turned around and Zoe, Lucy, and Xin behind him. Lucius nodded his head in response.

"Let's not make too much noise until the ceremony starts since I don't want to disrespect the heroes of humanity," Lucius said to the others.

They nodded their heads and waited patiently. As they were waiting, a loud sound resounded through the entire place.

Lucius turned around and realized it was the sound of the door closing. He narrowed his eyes.

"The ceremony to pledge loyalty to humanity should begin soon" Lucius muttered under his breath

The moment the doors closed a powerful voice resounded through the entire place.

"The ceremony to pledge loyalty will start now. Aidan will tell the process of pledging loyalty to humanity" Longan's powerful voice resounded through the entire place.

Longan took a few steps while Aidan moved forward. Aidan scanned the crowd, looking at their expression and much more.

"I will countdown from 3 to 1 when I will say zero, bow your head in front of the statues of the heroes of humanity.

Then take the oath. You all should know how to take the oath since your Divinity teacher must have at least taught you that.

After you pledge loyalty you raise your head." Aidan's cold voice resounded through the entire place.

Lucius and others nodded their heads in response.

"Good," Aidan said as he looked at the crowd.

Aidan, the envoy, and other inspectors turned around to face the six statues.

"He should start the countdown very soon," Lucius thought to himself. He focused his attention on the inspector and the envoy, facing the statues. A voice resounded through the entire place just a second later.

"3, 2,..." Adian began to countdown.

"It's starting," Lucius remarked.

"Everyone knows that it's starting," Luca said, his voice carrying irritation.

"Everyone stop talking and focus on pledging loyalty" Zoe replied.

Everyone stopped talking and focused on Aidan.

"1 and 0!" Aidan's powerful voice resounded through the entire place.

The inspector and the envoy also lowered their heads simultaneously.

The moment he said 0, everyone in the room lowered their heads including Lucius.

"I, Lucius, a newborn Divinity, greet the heroes of humanity hereby pledge loyalty to the entire humanity. As a Divinity, I will do everything in my power to protect humanity!!" Lucius shouted as he pledged loyalty.

Everyone in the room shouted out the same thing. The originally silent room became noisy in an instant. However, it only lasted for a moment.

After the pledging was done, the room once again fell silent. The candidates began to raise their heads after pledging loyalty, including Lucius.

All of a sudden, Lucius felt the density of mana in the room increasing as he rose. He frowned slightly.

"Why is the density of mana increasing all of a sudden??" Lucius blinked his eyes in confusion.

Lucius raised his head, he looked around him and saw everyone standing with a stunned look including Zoe, Luca, and Xin.

"What's wrong? Why do you guys look so stunned" Lucius asked.

Zoe didn't say anything, she just pointed her finger in a certain direction. Lucius looked in that direction.

"This…" Lucius exclaimed.

The eyes of the statues of the six heroes were glowing brightly. They were emitting a golden light. The inspectors and envoy looked calm like it was normal.

"Hmm, I think this is normal since the inspectors appeared to be calm," Lucius thought to himself

A few later, Lucius all of a sudden felt power coursing through his body. He looked at his own body and saw that his body was engulfed in a bright red aura.

"What's this?" Lucius mumbled as he raised his head.

He looked around him and saw everyone was engulfed in this red aura. He frowned slightly when he saw this.

At this moment, a notification flashed in his retina.

(You have been acknowledged by the heroes of humanity as a Divinity.)

(Due to the acknowledgment, a red aura has covered your entire body from head to toe)

(A red aura has covered the bodies of all newborn Divinities. The aura has increased your healing speed by 70 percent and your mana capacity by 30 percent)

Lucius read the notifications carefully.

"So this aura is the blessing of the heroes of humanity. I wonder if the effect is permanent or not, " Lucius mumbled.

He kept staring at the aura, just as he was staring at the aura. The badge that he was wearing started to emit a bright golden light.

Then the red aura that was surrounding him started to be sucked by the badge. He wasn't alone, everyone's red aura was being sucked by the badge.

"What's happening!" Lucius shouted in confusion.
