Plan

Wang Kuan looked over to the tall building across from the shop he was currently sitting at, deep in thought. Unknowingly, he had a mysterious smile on his face before being replaced with an indifferent expression as he turned his head to look at the scattered papers on his table. Wang Kuan took his time reading reports on murder cases and researching paranormal activities.

Wang Kuan discovered lately murder cases have been rising and the culprits have yet to be found. The victims' faces were censored but Wang Kuan could tell it was not because it was inappropriate to show their faces, it was because their faces were ruined to the point of being unrecognizable and too hideous to look at. Their bodies were mutilated and beast-like marks could be seen in the photos, too terrible.

There was no evidence of the culprit whatsoever, making the situation even weirder and causing panic among the night dwellers and the citizens. The Ministry of Public Security had to start the investigation as quickly as possible and arrested every suspicious people possible to ensure the people that the situation was controlled and to erase the panic.

Wang Kuan was even more sure the current state wasn't as controlled as they said out to be and he knew covering it up won't do any good to the people. Wang Kuan took a sip of his coffee as he watched the TV playing in front of him, reporting yet another death of unknown causes.

Wang Kuan didn't worry much because he already had two possible criminals in his mind and shook his head while laughing bitterly. If there was something to happen to his family, he was sure to kill them first.

"Oi, how could this be the doings of a human? This is too beastly," The person at the front said in a fearful tone. The others nodded in agreement.

"I can't believe the culprits haven't been found and who knows how many unreported crimes have they committed."

Wang Kuan felt something vibrating in his pocket and took out his phone, seeing the name 'Qing Zhu' plastered on it. For some unknown reason, his hand trembled before recovering. He looked at it with a complicated gaze before accepting the call.

The sweet voice and the childish laugh coming from the other side caused his heart to soften and his gaze turned gentle filled with unconditional love.

"Does Papa know who is talking right now?, hehe," Tian'er imitated her mother in a childish manner causing Wang Kuan to break out in laughter. The sudden laughter attracted weird stares from others but Wang Kuan couldn't care less.

"If it isn't my beloved Tian'er, who else could it be?"

"Bleh, Papa got it right, not fair."

Wang Kuan smiled softly as he pressed the phone against his ear, listening to the childish voice of his beloved daughter. He can't help but want to pat her little head through the phone.

After chatting for a while, Wang Kuan couldn't help but ask for a certain person.

"Um, Tian'er, where is your mother?" Wang Kuan asked hesitantly with a bitter smile.

"Auntie said Mama is really busy so she left Tian'er alone," Tian'er said pitifully, Wang Kuan frowned and pondered grumpily.

'This woman really is something, she could've at least contacted me that she had something to do instead of leaving my daughter alone.'

Wang Kuan snorted and coaxed the little girl for a while. He reluctantly hung the call and continued his studies.

Suddenly the door opened and Wang Kuan immediately turned his head to the door, his eyes shook slightly but recovered quickly retaining their calmness. The beautiful young woman with a curvy body, face as refined as jade, and skin as white as snow, her looks could be said to have attracted every male attention in the room and received the envious gaze from the females. Unfortunately, if only these lustful males knew her true nature.

One's looks indeed powered over their true nature.

Wang Kuan laughed darkly and stared coldly at this once familiar face. The person was naturally one of the contributors to the fall of the previous Wang Kuan. Wolf in sheep's clothing and a sly fox should be the most befitting word to describe her personality.

She was one of those members who were jealous of him, often reporting false things to his father and making up fake rumors about him doing illegal business, which he wasn't. To want his family to fall from grace and uphold hers as the true head of the family.

Truly wistful thinking!

Wang Sulin was the name of the beauty and the surname Wang was enough to send a chill through their spines. She was Wang Kuan's cousin and the daughter of his uncle from his father's side, technically making her one of the superior members.

'To think my chance of breaking down the walls of the Wang clan has truly come, it was none other than my beloved cousin.'

As soon as she came in, her eyes laid on the familiar figure sitting and looking at her with unrestrained indifference and discomfort. Her eyes trembled but recovered quickly replaced with coldness. She pretended not to see him and walked past him, sighing in relief. In her eyes, she was shocked to see Wang Kuan has truly changed and his clear black eyes contained the maturity a man should have. His appearance has become even more elegant and his back stood straighter, retaining the pride and glory of a Wang.

She was even more shocked to see Wang Kuan standing up and approaching her. Memories of the past flashed through her mind and she took a step back, it was not out of disgust but of something else. Wang Kuan faked a smile and waved at her like old friends.

Wang Kuan had already planned a scheme in his mind, he was planning to use her to force his way to the doorstep of his family. Wang Kuan didn't know the actual reason she had betrayed him but he was willing to sacrifice his pride to see his parents safe.

As he slowly approached Wang Sulin, he felt like he was floating on water and the pressure surrounding her was even more evident. Being shrouded in mist as his gaze turned blurry, he activated his own power and managed to force down the pressure.

'Could she be a Spirit Wielder as well?'

Wang Kuan frowned slightly and kept forcing down the pressure, Wang Sulin also frowned as the two gazes met. The silent battle of stares has begun and continued for a good 1 minute before the barista coughed.

"Xiao Lin, it has been some time."

"Brother Kuan, it has indeed been some time."

"How have you been?" Wang Kuan asked her with a soft smile.

"I have been doing well, you seem to have been doing well as well." She smiled back at him.

Wang Kuan and Wang Sulin exchanged words as if they had been friends for many years. Despite the friendly exterior Wang Kuan had, he was always on guard against her. The grudge he had toward the Wangs kept him from acting recklessly.

He found out through Wang Sulin, that his father have annexed the Wu Family and merged it into his own. Not surprised, Wang Kuan's father reminded him of his own past, an ambitious and ruthless human being.

Mainly the reason he wanted to unstabilize the Wang was to protect his mother and purge all the rats and traitors, and corruption in his own family. With a family as big and powerful as the Wangs, rats, and roaches were inevitable. Wang Sulin's father was one of those rats to be eliminated.

He didn't exchange contact information with Wang Sulin and left the place, in a hurry. He had come up with a plan, to provoke the anger of his father by staging a trap.

But first, connections must be made in order to break down their defensive walls.
