Beginning

Although I managed to escape from the royal soldiers, I was lost in the depths of the forest. I was grateful to be alive, at least. It was getting dark, and I sank down under the tree and took a deep breath. What would I do now? My family was murdered in front of all the people. I witnessed this from afar. How far would I run? Of course I would be caught.

When I brought my hand to the right side of my forehead, I felt something flow. Yes, it was bleeding. After a while, my eyes were closed as I had already lost consciousness.

When I opened my eyes, I found myself in a soft bed. What was this place? I tried to get up slowly, even though my whole body was writhing in pain. I saw that I had a lot of ointment and medicine at my bedside. Even though I didn't know where I was, I felt a little safe.

When I opened the door of the room slightly, I saw the defense soldiers training. My God! Now I was done, I was sure to be handed over to the royal soldiers! My feet were starting to tread back in fear. When I finally fell to the ground, I started to cry from fear.

I unconsciously closed my eyes as the door opened. I was afraid. I was just a 10 year old kid. I was shaking with fear. I slowly opened my eyes as I felt a gentle hand caressing my head.

"Fear not, you are now under my protection."

This man, who I didn't know at the time, was Major Shin Baek Soon. He gently hugged me to his chest.

"You are no longer a princess. From now on, you will live as Major Shin's daughter, Shin Yoora."

That's when Lee Min Young died. Shin Yoora was born.
