Arena.

"It means we will go through anything for enlightenment, like Dante who climbed the nine layers of hell and even heaven all in the pursuit of knowledge."

He grins at me, with the same devil-like smile.

The school itself is surrounded by a reinforced magic enhanced wall half the size of the outside wall.

"From how your eyes observe my campus you must be impressed, not to be humble but it is nothing compared to the state funded one in Rosedale."

His not so subtle bragging about the school truly brought its brilliants to life, most schools cant even be compared to the best school in the country/third best in the world.

"But." He continues. "What is a safe campus and luxurious Academy to do without great instructors, and substantial results? And if you pass of course, that's where you come in."

He let out a child like giggle like a puzzle piece fell snugly into its slot.

"Even if I do pass, how would just me help?" I couldn't help but let out a snarky retort.

He clears his throat. "Of course you're not the only one, you're not even the first, I've tested many and still have more to test. Remember if you fail you owe a million." His face fell mellow.

With nothing left to discuss he ushered me though the gate.

Saints Hand talked as we walk.

"I started development of the campus two years ago, and coming this Fall it will be open to those capable." As we walk around the main campus building he pauses for a second. "I do hope you stand up to my expectations." He grins.

Turning around the corner I was left awestruck. A coliseum mimicking those of old, as big and as beautiful as the Flavian Amphitheater in Rome.

"You like it, it is my magnum opus, my master peace. The walls are strong to survive against the strongest of magic, in times of performance a see through magic barrier can be activated. Thats not all boy." He laughs. " In there are masterwork cages designed to hold monsters."

"Why?" Is all I could bring my self to ask him.

"Your see."

Dread fills every cell of my body. My instincts are telling me to run, get away as fast as possible. But no matter my commands, my legs won't move, more accurately they won't listen to me. Somewhere in me knew running now, was not an option. We enter the coliseum, my heart feels like it's going to thump out of my chest. Thud, thud, thud. My heart matched my footsteps both in rhythm and in ear piercing sound. We exit the tunnel and enter the true arena. Bleachers line the walls in all directions, endless eyes staring at me. It feels like the empty coliseum should be filled with screams. Thump, thump, thump.

"Okay kid sense i'm starting to grow attached to you, I suppose I will tell you the rules. I'll send a monster at you depending of course how you deal with it will determine if I accept you."

"Wait, I almost forgot." He continues, "Try not to die."
