Holiday at Grandpa's

'Mia get down from there right now' my mom shouted. 'No mom,you are always making decisions for me and it is high time I start making decisions myself ' I shouted back at my mom. My parents looked at each other in surprise because even though I am thick skinned I never raise my voice at my parents and neither do i climb my parents car threatening to jump down if they don't take back home.

Well all this started when I came back from school the previous day. I overheard them saying I was going to spend summer at my grandpa's, the same grandpa who never lets us visit, the same grandpa doesn't even know my name.

I barged into the kitchen and saw the shocked look on their faces. 'Mom,Dad I am so not spending my holiday at Grandpa's place ' Then my mom walked over to me and said in the sweetest voice which she uses whenever she is trying to convince me into doing something I don't want to but I so not falling for it.

'Baby, why don't you hear us out first okay. We know you are not familiar with your grandpa but we got news that he has been sick for a while now and he insists of spending time with his grand kids.

'But I already have plans with Chloe this summer so there is no way I am leaving all that to stay with grandpa at the country side' i said. 'Well get this in your head young lady, first thing tomorrow morning I wanna see you downstairs with your packed luggage' said my mom. She then walked past me like I didn't even exist, then I looked at my dad giving him my best innocent eyes.

'Sorry baby girl but your mom is right' he said while rubbing my head. 'But dad...he walked past me saying if I need him I know where to find him.

Back to present day

I don't know why know one ever listens to me ' I am nineteen for crying out loud ' I groaned in annoyance.

'Young lady if you don't get down from that car right now then there is no allowance for you this month' said my mom.'Well it is not like I can use the money to buy a house',I replied.

'Ok enough of the chit chat, Mia get over here right now. My dad said with finality so I quickly got down and was about to start convincing him when he and my mom got into the car and drove off.

'Wait that didn't just happen,did it?..

They can't just leave me here,I know they can't just leave me here. I stubbornly refused to believe it but who am I kidding.

'THIS IS REAL SO I HAVE TO FACE IT'
