CHAPTER ~ 1

LILY POV

I am in a dense forest. it is noon but the forest is so dense that not a little bit of sunlight can be seen. when I hear someone calling my name. the voice belongs to some woman I am unfamiliar with yet it feels familiar. 'Lillian' she calls me again. her voice echoes in the forest. I can feel the pain in her voice but I don't know where to go.

"where are you miss ?" I shout but she didn't reply. all she did is to call my name. I looked for her wherever I could but it was of no use. I was getting frustrated.

"WHERE ARE YOU" I shout as loudly as I can. when suddenly she stopped. it becomes silent making me confused. I was about to move forward when I hear some noise from behind. I turned only to face a wolf. it was bigger than any other normal wolf. their fur was black, pure black and their eyes were green. I never know wolves can have green eyes. it was looking majestic. we both were staring at each other eyes. it was like we were having a staring competition but none of us was ready to give up. I feel warm and safe while looking at him. it was like we both were attracted to each other.

I rise my hand slowly to touch it. I was about to touch him when I hear a growl from behind and a shiver ran down my spine. the black wolf was still looking at me but turned slowly only to encounter another wolf. he has brown fur and is full of scars. I look at him in the eyes and my blood turned cold. he is not that scary but his eyes look familiar. he growls at me making my eyes widen. my legs start shaking. I look at the black wolf only to find him gone. the brown wolf looks like it was ready to attack any time now. I turn to run but I can't because instead of the forest I am on a cliff. I am trapped. I feel some movement behind me and my eyes widen. the wolf growled and jump on me. I put my hand on my ear and scream.

"lily"

"no...stay away from me"

"lily"

"help...someone help me"

"LILY" someone shouted. I open my eyes and found myself in my room drenched in sweat and shaking.

"you are okay" "it was just a nightmare". Olivia my roommate and best friend said while hugging me tightly. she is caressing my head while saying calming words which help me to calm myself .she hand me a glass of water and sat in front of me on my bed.

"same nightmare ?" she asks.

I nod my head. I am having these nightmares for the last eight months. I start having these nightmares after my seventeenth birthday. at first, they were not like this. I used to hear some women calling my name or those green eyes but they were never like this. But for the last two months, I am having this same dream as if it was trying to tell me something.

"don't think too much," Olivia said holding my hand. I smile at her and nod.

"I am sorry, I disturb your sleep...again" I said feeling bad that I woke her up.

she hit me on my head lightly. "ouch" I look at her "what was that for ?"

"how many times do I have to tell you? you don't have to feel guilty for something which is not in your control. can you control your nightmares? no right and your nightmares work as our alarm. don't you think it always woke us up on time." she laugh at her joke making me glare at her. I hit her with my pillow.

"ouch, what was that for?" she said holding the pillow ready to throw it back.

"As if you don't know. how could you make fun of my nightmares" I pout glaring at her cutely?

"Okay, I am sorry miss lily. I was just trying to lighten up your mood. happy? " "now if you are awake then please get your ass up and go get fresh if you love your ears. we have a long day ahead of us, milady". she said sarcastically while bowing.

"Oh, my dear servant, help me get ready. pick out my royal work outfit while I go freshen up" I play along with her. we both look at each other and burst out laughing.

"that's enough for today. now hurry up if you don't want sister Anne to get mad at us," she said giving me my today outfit. it's not like we have a lot of dresses. we only have six to seven dresses and most of them were donated to the orphanage.

After freshening up we lock our room and went towards the main hall to see what we have to do that today. every day we were assigned new work. being an orphan does not mean we don't have to work and wait for someone to adopt us. NO.

once someone turns sixteen they have to work. we wake up early and gather at the main hall around 5 a.m. to see our assigned work. the orphanage was a big old building and it takes time to clean it so to make it easier all the children above sixteen had to wake up early and do our assigned chores before 9 a.m. after that we have to leave for our jobs. this town is not that big and the money we receive is not enough for it so we had to work and earn for the orphan. After all, it is our home and we all are attached to each other.

"oh, I have to help Mr. William in the kitchen today in making breakfast," Olivia said from beside me.

I look at mine and it's simple "I had to water the garden and clean it. seems like we won't be able to see each other before 9."

"it's just 4 hours. we will eventually meet after that " she said hitting my head lightly and leaving while giggling. I swear this girl loves to hit me.

I am in the garden cleaning it and my work was about to finish when I hear someone calling my name making me freeze on my spot. it is the same voice I am hearing in my dreams. I look around me but there is no one. I m alone here. she again calls me and I start moving toward it. I don't know where am I going. the voice is attracting me.

I was going towards the voice. whoever this woman is she is in pain I can feel it whenever I hear her voice taking my name and it burns my heart. I don't know why but if she is in trouble I want to help her, I want to heal her, want to take away her pain. It's as if she is somehow connected to me. I was going toward her when someone hold my wrist and turn me.
