Chapter 13

Rowen was already in the field before her challenger, she wanted to get this over with, she was irritated and angry and want to pound on something especially her mate and she was distracted. she knew immediately her challenger stepped into the field, the crowd started cheering happily, it was obvious she was a kind of a hero to them, Rowen really don’t mind, she knew that she can never win one of the lethal with strength alone, she just had to repeat what she did to Eve.

She was called Athena, and everyone knows she had eyes for the alpha, they once had a thing, which was what it was for the alpha but Athena took the relationship too serious. Athena wants the alpha and she was here to actually get him.

The drum started beating signaling that the challenge has started. They both started circling each other and Athena was the first to strike, but before Rowen could phase fast and move out of her reach the punch landed squarely on her stomach and she went flying, she crashed heavily on the floor but she stood up with speed, she was still angry at her mate and was still moving with that anger and that was her mistake, before she could find her feet again another punch landed on her nose and she started bleeding. Rowen noticed that before she could phase or dodge a coming punch Athena was already there before her delivery another punch, that was when Rowen noticed that she was just repeating the moves she did with Eve and Athena already mastered it. Rowen was trying to figure out what to do, When she felt a sharp pain on her stomach, she screamed out in pain and went down on one knee, Athena wrenched her long nails she forcefully punched into the ribs of Rowen out and unfortunately it was the same rib Eve broke, she kicked Rowen and sent her flying.

Tears was visibly running down Rowen’s face but she did not remain down because if she does, it means Athena has won the challenge, she could not stand up again so she knelt down holding the earth and promised herself that instead of letting this bitch win, she rather live the field a dead woman. She knows Athena was coming for the killing blow so opted for the last resort, she closed her eyes and focused on the mother earth, she poured out all the pain and felt fresh energy seeping into her veins, her eyes was closed but she could feel the foot coming toward her face, she just thought “grip and break” and she did not know she actually did it until the heart wrenching crying from Athena made her open her eyes, she looked at Athena legs in horror and noticed that the leg was actually broken, and only the skin was stopping the leg from falling out.

Rowen could not believe what just happened and everyone was also looking at Athenas leg, Rowen broke her leg as if she was holding and ordinary stick. Rowen tried to crawl to the wailing and frightened Athena on the floor but Athena moved back with fear in her eyes.

“She’s a demon”. Athena wailed, she held her broken leg and was crying in pain.

“Someone please come take me out of this field, I don’t want to be anywhere close to her”.

That was when the Beta stepped into the field and looked Athena directly in the eyes. “Do you yield to Rowen? Do you accept defeat”.

“I accept, please take me out of here”.

Timron called for the ambulance team, the team rushed to Athena, and covered her with a blanket, because everyone knows she was going into shock, she was already shivering badly.

When they left, that was when Rowen allowed herself to fall down, she fainted.

She did not know it was her mate that picked her up and rushed her to the pack clinic, she was burning up, the doctors and nurses where panicking because the alpha shadowed their every move, she was still bleeding, the alpha tried to pump healing energy inside her, but it was as if her body was rejecting the healing.

That evening she went into coma due to lack of blood and the alpha had to give her blood, he was ready to give everything to his mate.

“Alpha, we have to stop giving her your blood now, it changing her in ways we cannot explain”. The doctor was far away delivering this message because the power exuding from the alpha was so much.

“Explain doctor, my patience has been tested long enough today”. the alpha bellowed.

“Her heart rate and pulse rate are faster than normal”.

The alpha did not wait for the doctor, he removed the needle from his veins and the puncture sealed immediately, it was merely a physical manifestation of his powers. The rhythm of Rowen’s heart and pulse returned to normal, apparently the power in his blood was too much for her young body.

Rowen stayed in coma for three days and on the fourth day she woke up very hungry and not a scratch on her skin.

“Were is everyone?”. She whispered, her throat was very dry and she needed water. She looked around and saw a button beside her bed and pressed it. Immediately a nurse rushed in and brought mild cold water for her, she took that one and extra bottle of water, it felt as if the water was entering a bottomless pit. “I need food, can you please discharge me now”.

“Am sorry please, its not in my power to release you, I have called the doctor, he will be here in a few minutes”.

“Thank you, please who visited while I was down?”.

“The alpha, the beta, the betas mate, your parent and siblings”.

“Really, the alpha was here?”.

“Yes, and he allowed no one to stay by your side long except him”.

Rowen lay down to rest and wait for the doctor and also thought about what the nurse said.
