Within The Room

The table was covered with a white cloth, and there was a single candle lit in the center. Wei Feng approached the table, and he noticed that there was a piece of paper lying on it. He picked up the paper and unfolded it.

It was a letter, addressed to him.

Wei Feng's hands trembled as he read the letter. The handwriting was unfamiliar, but the words were ominous.

"Dear Wei Feng,

I hope this letter finds you well. I have been watching your progress through the maze, and I must say, I am impressed. You have shown great courage and determination. But I'm afraid that your journey is far from over. You see, the maze was just the beginning."

Wei Feng's heart raced as he read the letter. Who could be watching him? And what did they mean by the maze being just the beginning? He looked around the room, trying to find any clue or indication of who could have left the letter. But there was nothing.

Suddenly, the candle flickered and went out, plunging the room into complete darkness.

Wei Feng's heart raced as he read the letter. Who could be watching him? And what did they mean by the maze being just the beginning? He looked around the room, trying to find any clue or indication of who could have left the letter. But there was nothing.

Suddenly, the candle flickered and went out, shrouding the room into complete darkness.

Wei Feng's heart started pounding in his chest. He couldn't see anything, not even his own hand in front of his face. He tried to calm his breathing and focus his senses to listen for any movement or sound. After a few moments, he heard a faint whispering sound coming from somewhere in the room.

"Who's there?"

Wei Feng called out, his voice echoing through the darkness. The whispering continued, but it sounded like it was getting louder and closer. Wei Feng tensed up, ready to fight or flee if necessary. Suddenly, he felt a cold, bony hand on his shoulder.

Wei Feng spun around and struck out with a punch, but his fist met nothing but air.

The whispering stopped, and Wei Feng was left standing in the darkness, feeling foolish for attacking nothing. But then he heard a voice, a deep and ominous one, coming from somewhere in the room.

"Welcome, Wei Feng,"

the voice said.

"I have been expecting you."

Wei Feng's heart skipped a beat as he heard the voice. He couldn't tell where it was coming from, and the darkness was making him feel anxious.

"Who are you?"

Wei Feng demanded, trying to sound confident despite his fear.

"I am the master of this place,"

the voice pause for a while and continued,

"And you are my guest."

Maybe he should just run and escape out of the maze?

"Who are you?"

Wei Feng asked. The voice did not reply. Instead, it continued to speak in a deep and ominous tone, dismissing his question.

"I demand an answer!"

Wei Feng suddenly exclaimed.

"The answer is simple, Wei Feng,"

the voice said.

"You either obey me, or you die."

Wei Feng quickly closed his mouth, cautious to not anger the voice.

Wei Feng's heart raced as he tried to think of a way out. He knew he couldn't just give in to the voice's demands, but he also didn't want to die. He took a deep breath and tried to remain calm.

"What do you want from me?"

Wei Feng asked. The voice chuckled darkly.

"I want you to play a game," the voice said.

The room around Wei Feng suddenly transformed into a dimly lit dungeon with stone walls and torches flickering in the distance. In front of him was a wooden table with a checkered game board set up on it. The pieces were intricately carved, and the board itself seemed to be made of some dark, polished wood.

Wei Feng cautiously approached the table and inspected the game board. The pieces were shaped like various fantasy creatures, including dragons, griffins, and unicorns. The squares on the board each had a unique symbol etched onto it.

Then, the voice finally cane out. The voice was a man.

He emitted an enigmatic aura and had a captivating presence that draws others in, yet at the same time, they seem to keep a certain distance. His clothing is plain, yet there is something unique about it that catches the eye.

"This is chess, a game of strategy,"

the man said.

Wei Feng felt a chill run down his spine as he realized that this was no ordinary chess. He looked up at the man asked,

"What's in for me if I win?"

"You get to leave this place unharmed,"

the man replied.

"And if I lose?"

Wei Feng asked, already knowing the answer but asked anyway.

"Then you will suffer the consequences,"

the man said ominously.

Wei Feng took a deep breath and started to think. He had always been good at strategy games, but this one seemed much more complex than anything he had ever played. He studied the game board and carefully examined each piece. After several minutes of thought, Wei Feng made his first move.

The game progressed slowly, with Wei Feng and the man taking turns gliding their pieces around the board.

Wei Feng's heart was pounding in his chest as he tried to anticipate the man's next move.

He was determined to win this game and escape the clutches of the mysterious man.

As the game continued, Wei Feng began to notice a pattern in the man's moves. It seemed to be focusing all of its attention on one particular area of the board.

Wei Feng saw an opportunity to take advantage of this and made a bold move. The man's next move confirmed Wei Feng's suspicions, and he was able to set up a trap that left the man's most powerful piece vulnerable.

With a sense of satisfaction, Wei Feng made his final move, capturing the man's last remaining piece.

As Wei Feng made his final move, the game board began to glow with a bright light. The dungeon around him started to fade away, the man said,

"Well done, I hadn't lost in years!"

Then, Wei Feng found himself back in the dimly lit room.

"Since you've won, you may leave this place unharmed, but remember, I will always be watching."

With those words, the man faded away into nothingness.

Wei Feng felt a wave of relief wash over him as he realized that he had won the game and escaped with his body intact.

Then, there lied a glowing object on the wooden table was a key.
