Returning back

Far away from Grasal City,

About midnight, in an underground fighting arena of Asnar City;

A young man in his mid-twenties had continuous victory in a fight. The first thing that could attract everyone's attention was his silver hair which was shining even in the dark.

He had already won two rounds with the best fighters in the arena and the last round was about to start soon so he was resting in the corner of the ring. His face was well disguised.

The bet in the arena was rapidly increasing. If he wins the third round, money equivalent to a country's annual budget could be won. The third or to say the last fight will determine his earnings.

This was the final match which was held every five years where the bets went up and the prize money was much higher. In addition, those who win would have high authority within Asnar.

Like others, the silver-haired man wasn't showing off his body or skill and was well-dressed in a shirt and pants. The sleeves of the shirt have been folded up to the elbow. Even after winning two fights, no crease formed on his clothes.

From this, two things could be concluded; either his opponents were weak or he was more stronger and skilled than them. The second seems to fit in this case.

One man in his thirties was massaging his shoulder and acting as his personal assistant. The man was full of smiles and praises.

Like Grasal City, Asnar didn't follow the rule of law and was lawless. None had absolute authority in the place. Power and strength mean everything here. The rule of the jungle was applicable in this place.

They surely follow the rule of Darwin's theory - Survival of the fittest. Either you rise or let others step on you; no exception.

The people who could stand on the top position of Asnar were either from powerful families or had strong backers or a phoenix who rose from the ash ( fighting on their own to rise up).

This place wasn't a part of the underworld but was a free entity. Surrounded by the ocean, it was an island or to say a country on its own more than to say a city. More than a century ago, this island was a part of the nearest country so people called it Asnar City. Nowadays, it is only Asnar.

Despite being a free entity, any sort of weapons or drugs were banned in the place. The only thing this place was famous for was its habitat. This place was one of the most dangerous places with poisonous forests. Who knows, there could be something precious in this land in the cover of the poisonous forest, remaining a mystery.

Only a portion of the island was opened to outsiders.

A bell rang to announce the start of the next fight. A burly man double the size of the young man entered and approached the middle of the ring.

The burly man was said to be the best fighter in the whole of Asnar.

The young man stood up and was about to walk when someone called him from behind. Two young men similar to his age were standing outside the ring wearing a worried expressions. One was calling him while another was pulling and trying to shut the mouth of the other.

Signaling half a minute delay, the silver-haired man walked back.

"Whatever it is, talk after the fight ends." His voice was cold and distant.

"Yes, Boss" the one who was trying to shut their mouth spoke hurriedly.

No one should go against his Boss, otherwise, the result wouldn't be good. Both the two men and the personal assistant knew it well.

The person who has called seems to be conflicted but still gathered his courage, "But…Boss, I…think it's im…portant…" In a panic, he began to stutter.

The arena team indicated half a minute had ended and asked to resume the fight.

"Shut your f**king mouth. I will deal with you later." The silver-haired man spoke harshly while walking towards the center of the ring.

The referee gave a signal to fight and both fighters in the ring were standing in fighting stances…

The arena was silent and everyone's eyes were focused on the match.

"Boss…Big Brother and your godfather had…an accident…it's unknown whether they…are de...ad...or…alive." In a panic voice, the young men voiced out the info.

"WHAT??--"

The other young man held his head in irritation.

The opponent gave his best to strike a punch but the silver man tackled the shot and without fighting back rushed to those people.

The opponent was confused about the situation.

The young fighter grabbed the collar of the man who spoke before from the ring and shook him, "What did you say?? Did…did I hear it wrong? Speak clearly."

"A..bout…that…" the man couldn't speak clearly because his boss was shaking him nonstop.

"Boss, you should stop shaking him to let him speak." The personal assistant spoke with caution.

With the reminder, he left the collar.

"Tell me the details" The fluctuation in emotions halted and turned cold as before.

"A truck hit their car and it fell in the gorge. The rescue team is searching but it's not sure if they are alive or dead. I gave an order instead of you to search for them dead or alive." Lowering his head the man replied giving the full view of the accident.

Thinking for a while, the silver-haired man spoke, "Make arrangements for me to leave. It's time for me to return back and assume my position. None of those bastards can step over me..." The sound was more distant than before.

"Yes, Boss." The man who tried to shut his mouth spoke and walked out to make arrangements.

"Bo..oss…what about the match? You will lose all the money if you forfeit…Should we neglect our hard-earned money just like that…?" The personal assistant spoke cautiously.

"Are we lacking money–?" The fighter spoke, raising his brows.

"No- no, absolutely no." The PA smiled showing his teeth.

"Then–" he was about to make some order when the opponent fighter reached and tried to attack him.

Due to their conversation, the group of four didn't hear the announcement of the arena team. The opponent fighter was irritated because they were neglecting the best fighter of Asnar and not giving him a face. In frustration, he tried to sneak attack.

That was the worst decision the opponent fighter ever made because….
