Chapter 14 - Tensions

(Diana’s POV)

I woke up when the sun is still fresh and new. I have not good sleep last night because of the pain that I earned on the taekwondo activity. Same as through with Auzia who’s massaging her back.

“Hey, are you going with Calli’s birthday?” I glanced at her, still sleepy and gave her a blank expression. At this case, she really thinks that I have the strength to attend?

“Just look at yourself at the mirror, Auzia. If you wanted to have an early burial then attend that party.” I directly said with sarcasm. She just rolled her eyes at me then massages her back again.

A minute passed, I found myself cleaning my body and face at the bathroom. I didn’t take a half bath last night since my body cannot handle it already. It was a disaster to be exact.

It only took three minutes for me to clean myself because the water is to cold. As much as I want to stay, I could get cold if I stay there. As I go out from the bathroom, the first thing that I saw is Auzia laying on her mint green bed, obviously take a nap again.

“Fuck!” many curses formed in my mind as I tripped on Auzia’s study table. Is this my jinx day now?

I am stamping my feet loudly heading to my cabinet to grab some shirt and pants. I grab my black Burberry t-shirt and ripped jeans. I don’t need to wake that sleeping bitch now. I want to buy some gifts for Calli since she’s worth buying too. I’ll just choose for Auzia too. I’m sure Calli wont knew who gave it. I’ll just find someone to give it to her.

I grab my LV shoulder bag and put my phone and my wallet. I was about to sneak out when I remember Auzia. She might look for me later so I wrote something on the sticky notes and put it on her forehead.

I look for a cab outside the highway and it didn’t take a long time. Good thing that the traffic is not that heavy.

“Good morning ma’am.” The girl in black suit greeted. I just nod at her before heading towards the necklace shop.

I know most girls likes necklaces with dangling pendants. I hope Calli would like this.

As I entered the shop, I was welcomed by Lisa Manoban’s standee. I didn’t expect that she’s the endorser of the brand of these accessories.

I look for something classy and it almost made me shriek as I check their prices. Is this serious? It’s just a necklace but its price is equivalent of a house already!

“Ma’am, what design are you looking for?” I almost slap the saleslady because of shock. Good thing that I immediately held myself. Gosh!

“The shelf.” I answered sarcastically. She’s asking for the most obvious thing. I am in the section of the necklaces and how should I supposed to answer her question? That I wanted a bag?

“Pardon me, ma’am. You’re going to buy all of the necklaces in this shelf?” I smiled with a cursed to her. What level is her humor, huh? Why are you here in my story anyway?

“I would like to buy a necklace. Maybe less than 10,000 pesos.” She looked at me like I’m asking for a miracle form the heaven

“Oh, the thing that you’re looking cannot be found here, ma’am. The lowest price of the accessories here is 100,000 thousand pesos.” I held my hands at the shelf as I felt the dizziness entered my head. What the fucking fuck? That expensive?!

“Oh is that so? I’ll just visit here next…”

“Then give her some of it miss. I’ll pay it for her.” The saleslady immediately nods at the people who spoke behind me and look for that necklace.

I was welcomed by grey eyes, a pushed back hair, slim and pinkish lips, pointed nose and perfect skin tone. “Hey.” He smiled at me and I’m still in shock why Stygian is here.

“Sty why…why are you here?” did I asked rudely. This isn’t my shop anyway

“I’m here to buy some gifts for Calli. They told me that it’s her birthday today.” Oh, that makes sense. I thought he’s the owner of this shop.

“Here it is, Sir.” The saleslady gave the necklace to Sty blushing. I look at her with a ridiculous look and she also stopped as she saw me.

“Choose.” I raised a brow at him. He’s asking me to choose for his gift for Calli?

“I’ll pay it for you.” I was with my wide eyes still looking at him and back to the necklaces. I’m not sure if he can’t afford this.

“Wait, are you serious about this Sty?” he looked at me ridiculously. Why? Did is say something?

“Of course.” He answered confidently without losing his charismatic look.

“Then I’ll choose…this.” It was a simple necklace with a moon pendant. I think this one is the cheapest…so far.

“Is that it?” he looked at me as if he wasn’t contented for what I have chosen. “I thought you’ll choose all of them.” He chuckled before handing the necklace that I’ve chose to the saleslady. Is he thinking of me as a gold digger?

“I’ll pay for this and also for those two that she didn’t choose.” I looked at Sty with a jaw dropping reaction. That will really cost a lot of money!

“Hey Sty you don’t need to do this. Calli has only one neck.” He slowly glanced at me chuckling. I arched my left eyebrow still looking at him. Why is he laughing?

“I know she has one neck Diana. I’m buying the other two for you and Auzia.” My mind froze and even my whole body stiffened because of his words. Is he giving me this? For real?

“Why?” Even Kin haven’t given me something. And he almost…nevermind.

“Just…for closure?” then he smirked. Closure? We’re close already! What card is he playing right now?

“Hoy, are you going to make me pay for it in the future?” I joked but deep inside, I am really thinking like that. I don’t have money to give to her in case!

“It’s 500,000 pesos, Sir.” What the fuck! My stares are going back and forth to the necklaces and Stygian’s hands reaching for his wallet.

“Here.” Stygian gave his card and the cashier did her job.

“All paid.” She said before handing back the card to Sty. “Your girlfriend is lucky with you, Sir. Even she’s kind crazy.” My sight transferred to the girl talking like I was not here. Girlfriend? Crazy?

“She is…lucky but don’t call her crazy because she’s not.” Sty just smiled saka before dragging me out of the shop. I gave in myself to him and just followed him to where he wanted to go.

“I’m sorry for pretending to be your boyfriend. It’s just a sudden act.” I looked at him chuckling. He took that seriously, huh.

“It’s okay. It’s still not enough for these.” I raised the paper bags that I am holding.

“Thanks for this.” I smiles at him and that is the only thing that I did. I don’t know how to thank him for this big effort. That was a big amount of money.

“So do you still have something to buy? I’ll accompany you.” I still need to buy a dress for Calli’s birthday. I really do not have intentions to go there but it’ll be rude if only our gifts will be there but not us.

“Yeah, dress.” I answered and he started dragging me again.

“I know a great shop here.” He uttered excited. Don’t tell me, he wanted to buy it for me again? I know that I am somewhat over thinking about it but it’s possible to happen again.

(Flicke’s POV)

After the taekwondo game of the university, we are all back t normal. Good thing that we have our rest day right now because I’m already bored there at that school. Maddie isn’t there and I can’t protect her like that.

“Hey is there something wrong?” I glanced at Jiana sitting right next to me. Right now, we’re here at Maddie’s Mom’s shop. She was summoned by her mother here but I have no idea why. I think it’s all about their business. Mandy also told me about that.

“No…just thinking of something.” I didn’t bother to elaborate what it is because she’s nothing to do with it.

It’s already twelve in the afternoon and Maddie is still in her mom’s office. She already there for about three hours and I think she’s already hungry.

“Don’t worry about Mie. They have meeting right now. I just don’t know what it is but I think its business things.” I just nod at her thinking that she has a point right there. After all, Maddie will be the one to inherit this company as what Mandy told me.

“By the way, san ka pala nag-aaral?” I asked to fill the empty atmosphere between us. She could transfer to GU because it would be easy for Clay. I think he will like that idea too.

“Actually I already stopped schooling. I only finished my Senior High school years because of financial problem of my family. So I ended up working here at this age.” There’s sadness in her voice and it’s also visible in her eyes.

That’s a tough decision though. Even I am not an earthling, I already know the purpose here of schools and here, you still need to spent money for you to go to school. Unlike in Threa which is you don’t need to pay for you to go to school.

“How about Mie? She’s still doing home school?” I nod at her thinking about that thing. Maddie choose home schooling because she’s uncomfortable with the crowd, and for her safety too since she’s one of the heiress of the Sylvester.

“Wait, I need to go back to my work. I have a customer already.” She left her cup at the beach where we are sitting before running towards her place. I looked at her chuckling. She’s obviously panicking about her appearance

“Good morning Ma’am! Sir!” she greeted at the couple…wait…is that Diana?!

“Do you have a dress here for a party? A birthday party to be exact?” I almost choke the hell out of me while looking at Diana with Stygian buying clothes together. Fuck this isn’t good.

I immediately dialled Jacob’s number and later, good thing, answered in not time too. “Jacob, is Kin home?” I asked panicking

“In his room. Why?”

“Tell him to go here at my location right now.” I know this will be bloodshed if Kin won’t find this out.

“Why? What’s with the hurry?”

“For fuck’s sake Jacob, don’t ask some stupid fucking questions and tell Kin right now.” I’m just holding back my voice not to shout here at this goddamn shop.

Both of them are laughing while choosing some dress. Since when did they get close like this? This will be Kin’s end if Diana will grab the bait of this motherfucker asshole.

I ended the call before heading towards the dressing room. There, I manage to conjure a portal heading to the parking lot of this mall. I also waited for a minute before Kin arrive, confused.

“What’s the matter?” He asked monotonously while unbuckling his helmet.

“Kin you won’t like this news. Diana and Stygian are in Maddie’s shop. Together.” Kin stopped from what he is doing and glared at me. I saw how the image of the fire formed in his eyes and I almost lost my voice with that

“Where?” He asked with a noticeable anger in his voice.

(Diana’s POV)

I am holding my stomach for the whole time choosing for my dress because of Stygian’s stories. He told me about how he ended up wearing his mother’s bra to do a character imitation. I can still see in my mind how he looks with that bra.

“That was insane Sty. I don’t know you have this kind of humor.” I said while looking for the dress that will suit me.

“How about this black dress. I think it suits your body.” I looked at the dress that he’s referring to and I can say he has a good taste for women. It’s a black formal dress with a silver gradient below. “It’s just 250,000 pesos.” I gaped at him trying to digest the price in my mind.

“What the hell?! That’s too expensive, Sty.” He chuckled then just shrugs.

“How about this.” We both looked back to the person, should I say a man that I already know, spoke behind us. I know this voice. Shit!

I was welcomed by Kin’s sharp, deadly glare while holding the red dress with a slit on the side and a rose petals design. “I think this suits you too.” His tone is still rough and heavy. I can feel the tension between them two because even Sty changed.

“Kin.” I unconsciously called his name which made him glanced at me.

“Diana I’ll just pay this for you before I go.” Stygian.

“Retreating on the war you’ve made? Well I expected.” I crossed my eyebrows looking at them. What war? There’s a war? I didn’t know that.

Maybe the tension between them? What’s happening with these two?

“I’m not running from it Kin. It’s just it’s not my forte to get some attentions.” Sty answered before went to the counter.

Kin and I meet with our gaze and his eyes were throwing daggers on me. Why on me? “What’s with that look?” I asked and he walks towards me.

“You’re hanging out with someone else huh?” I felt jealousy in his tone but I think I was wrong with that. Why would he be jealous anyway?

Or maybe he was really jealous hahaha. I forgot that we are already dating. Damn!

“Put your jealousy in your pockets moron. I don’t have a single thing with Stygian. He’s just my friend. Nothing more nothing less.” We’re still not official like the other couples but I know he’s jealous right now. I’m still in the stage of thinking because I’m not ready for the possible consequences of this relationship.

“You don’t have any business on him but he has to you wife. Don’t you see it?” his voice is still furious and his eyes were just focused on the man, paying the dress that he bought for me.

“I can’t of course. Do you think I’m a mind reader? And please drop that wife. I’m not your wife idiot.” What did he eat a while ago anyways?

“Ma’am, your boyfriend already left the dress at the counter. He said you can get it already.” I can feel the death glares of Kin right now but I didn’t bother to gave him attention for now

“Okay.” I answered monotonously.

“He’s not her boyfriend lady.” The saleslady stopped from her pace as Kin spoke with full of weights. I stared at him trying to stop him from what he is trying to do.

“Pardon me Sir?”

“He’s not her boyfriend cause I’m his boyfriend.” Kin grabbed my hand and showed it to the saleslady. I was just hiding myself in embarrassment. What’s the big deal with this!

“He’s our driver.” I let out a small chuckle which made him look at me.

“Driver? How nice. You have a good looking driver.” The saleslady was just holding herself not to sound rude. I can see that she’s getting the awkward atmosphere between her and Kin.

I shifted my gaze at Kin and his glares are still killing me. “Boyfriend, huh.” He let go of my hand and pretend that he’s choosing polo beside us. He’s really jealous.

“Stop acting immature Kin. You know that it’s not true.” I rolled my eyes and left him to get the paper bag. “Let get out of here. I need to take a lunch now.” I grab hi s hands and pulled him out of the shop. He could destroy all the things there if his jealousy will grow there.

(Stygian’s POV)

“FUCK!” my arms are filled with my own blood when I punch the mirror here in the bathroom. I breaking sound of it echoed all over the room.

“Dude, what’s your problem there? Why did you freaking broke the mirror?” I shifted my gaze to the man behind me and he’s looking at me like he’s a scanner.

“Who the fuck is that?” someone came out from nowhere and he also stared at me like he saw something disgusting. “Oh men, what’s with the emoting session?” they both laughed and my mood darkened. I lift them up using black smoke and the last thing happened is that their skeletons dropped on the floor as the smoke eats their flesh.

“Don’t wait for me to roar for you ran away.” I opened the portal heading to my palace to gather my clan. Prepare for a battle Kin. I’m sure you’re ready about this.
