The Mission Finally Ends

He walked further in the deep dark in search of the elevator. He wondered where the lights that surrounded it had gone. Immediately, his mind remembered the intense fight he had with the demon in the elevator.

After a brief search, his eyes laid upon a broken dented, and disfigured metallic coverage. It was a cuboid just like the elevator but it didn't resemble it.

Levi proceeded towards it and was surprised at the sudden change from its previous elegance to its present ugly look.

Visually retarded, he ceased movement and stared deeply at the broken-down elevator. Quickly, he strid towards it hopped into it, and hoped for the best.

"I hope this works," he said, raising his right hand and placing it on a button.

The elevator shook suddenly and stayed unshaken. As Levi was about to step out, it began vibrating once more.

He hopped back in, and the elevator slowly and unsteadily elevated to the higher floor.

"Only 39 more demons."

After a long and unnecessary wait in the elevator, it finally reached its destination and stopped. The door had already been removed in the previous battle, so he had no means of coverage before venturing out for his next fight.

He immediately ran out in a bid to prevent the mistake of being trapped again. He stepped forward and entered the room.

It was well-lit and seemed like it would bear an easy battle. Although the hung lamps overhead swung from both sides, the light remained steady - at least, enough for him to see his enemies.

He slowly walked in, drowned in exhaustion. His steps reverberated around the empty room, alerting all his enemies. He was too tired, that he could scarcely walk. He leaned over on a wall, and let his body slide.

He pulled off the pieces of yellow-green goo from his clothes and sat beside a wall. He shook his head while trying to regain his strength.

As his eyes were halfway closed, he sighted an unusual figure in the distance, walking maliciously.

"Oh a demon," he said, standing up from his rested position.

He ran towards it, his hand raised in the air. He throttled with full force - as fast as his tired butt could - and he finally reached the demon.

He picked up a slightly smaller stick than the last one and banged it on the demon's head. He made the first hit, the second, and the fifth but the demon failed to surrender.

He then declined in his attacks and stared emotionlessly at the demon. He dropped the stick, and let its noise echo throughout the room.

Truly Levi, was downright exhausted, beaten up, and totally molested. It was then that he realized the system's objective; to wear him out before the completion of his goal.

He knew he was tired, but he was uncertain if that was the cause of his not being able to use his abilities.

"Silk touch helped me so much. Without it I would've been dead a long time ago," he picked up the stick once more, and casually swung it against the demon.

It fell to the ground, releasing its repulsive blood, but Levi slowly walked away unfazed. His feelings had been drowned out by his exhaustion and urge to complete his mission as fast as he could.

He rushed to the next demon in sight and brutalized it after which, a smile slowly surfaced on his face.

He continued his assault on all demons in sight, till the last one. He was immediately flushed back into the elevator by the immense force of the exploding essence of the demons.

Lying exhausted on the floor, he placed his hand on a button which took him to the lowest floor. His eyes were wide open, with nothing as much as a scratch of emotion on it.

He slowly moved downwards in the elevator as his smile slowly retracted, and he looked at his palms which were stained with the yellow-green substance. Immediately, he saw a window at the lower right corner of his vision.

[Teleporting to Waiting Room....

Immediately, he saw himself sitting in the white void that stretched for eternity. He looked up and exhaled in familiarity after seeing the board on the wall.

He looked around, observing his environment, and he saw people slowly appearing at every corner. He smiled and somehow found the strength to lift himself and stand.

He looked up once more and noticed a change on the board. Its figures were constantly changing, and members kept adding up.

[Mission: ___]

"So, everyone's not here yet," he thought as he walked up to a guy, who looked younger than him. He intended to talk to him, but another person suddenly appeared in front of him, and worse, she was screaming.

He wondered how he would move if people would randomly pop up everywhere, so he decided to take a brief sleep in a corner.

He walked up to a wall, and people still kept appearing around him but none made physical contact with him.

"At least, I won't die asleep because no one can appear on top of me."

He crouched at the corner and sat. He watched others casually appear, move around, and converse with others. The board was still inactive and there was still a large number of people still waiting to arrive at the Waiting Room.

He grabbed a thin piece of cloth and flung it around him in a bid to clear his surroundings from dirt. There, he laid his head on the folded cloth to serve as his pillow.

His eyes slowly closed, and his memory washed away. His last thoughts were of the start of the mission, and most of all how lonely he was in the world.
