Sister

"You remember the guy with the golden needle fetish?"

A random person spoke to another, his lips close to the other's ears.

"Yeah, Kanoshi right? I remember him, he's a real nice guy man, he lend me some money when I had to pay my debt"

"I don't know him being good and all, but I know one thing, he went missing last week"

The other guy looked shocked as he digested the news.

"What!? Don't joke around... You're serious?"

The first guy was stoic as he saw his friend get anxious, his face not showing the slightest of mockery.

"You should be happy by his disappearance"

The second guy looked furious as he heard what his friend said, but before he could refute it, the other guy raised his hand, gesturing to shut his mouth.

He looked around, making sure nobody was eavesdropping.

"Don't you know? He was a demon worshipper"

"De-!!"

The first guy put his palm above the other guy's mouth, sweat dripping from his forehead in fear of others' hearing.

"Shut up you idiot!... It's forbidden to utter the word 'Demon' here, don't you know it"

His tone was venomous as he whispered, the second guy nodded his head and calmed down.

"What about his sister? She is about the age of marriage already..."

Everything else further spoken by the unknown individuals became mute as Inei heard the word 'Sister', he quickly asked the people around for Kanoshi's house.

After hours of relentless questioning, he finally found the address, without delay, he masked himself with the hood of his robe and departed to his destination.

His goal was a bit deep inside the town, Inei decided to grab a bite, his stomach growled at the thought of food.

'Hmm... That looks like a nice shop'

Entering a small restaurant, he sat near the corner and ordered his food, after finishing his meal, Inei paid the money and continued his journey.

'The world is so... grey'

While to others the lanterns seemed blinding, the town and the world seemed colorless to Inei, the people beside him only appearing as flesh and blood, with two sets of holes on their skulls, no eyes balls, or any organs.

The ground was aflame, the sounds of their conversation only being heard as a dreadful screech, the moon shone red in the dark, starless sky, the only different color present in his vision.

The bitter memories of his past resurfaced inside his mind as his steps slowed, darkness engulfed his vision, blocking his sight.

Slap!

Everything became normal as Inei received a hard slap to his face, he shook his head and looked in front, there stood a tall woman, looking at him with visible anger.

"Don't step on my expensive dress, you little scoundrel!"

She raised her hand to hit him again, her hand swung at his cheek.

The lady's eyes widened as she stared at her hand, it was caught by the little guy, she tried to pull back but it wouldn't budge!

'What's up with this crazy strength!'

Inei was not in the greatest of moods, he licked his tongue in disdain.

Crack.

"Arghhh!!!"

She cried in pain as Inei broke her wrist, the white bones stuck out and blood flowed down like a fountain, he was quick to merge into the darkness of a random alleyway before the crowd was alert.

"Quick! Get her to a doctor!"

A random person shouted as he checked the pulse of the unconscious woman in his hands, a group of ladies came and carried her.

As her body was disappearing from his vision, something shone from the head of the lady who was being carried.

'For the love of god... Sigh'

He clenched his fists, there was a golden needle hanging on her hairpin, it was stitched onto it.

But as he lifted his hand used to crack her bones, his eyes glimmered in the darkness.

'I really need to learn how to control my strength'

He scratched the back of his head, Inei really did not need to learn that earlier because there was simply no need, it was quite the opposite actually, he needed more strength.

But things were different now, he had to attend missions, so interacting with humans was a must, if he did not learn to adapt to his environment, it would prove fatal to his career.

Learning to socialize was going to be tough for Inei, for he did not ever properly engage in a conversation with a human being.

He sighed as he recalled the woman's face, he was glad he memorized her facial structure before he 'punished' her.

Just in case, he visited the address, and to his horror, his suspicions became reality, the woman earlier was indeed the sister of the missing man.

It seems that she was getting ready for a function, her dress was well-graved into the head of their neighbors, so they perfectly described her outfit.

Inei sighed, he asked for directions toward the hospital, fortunately, there seemed to be only 5-6 small hospitals in the town, he searched the entire night and found her in the ward.

'How am I going to deal with her now... Urgh'

He felt a headache rise up, this was going to be troublesome.
