Pain

Waking up inside what seems to be a dimly lit study room, Kiyomi rubbed her sore neck.

'Why do I always inexplicably faint and then wake up in a totally creepy and weird place?!' She screamed internally as her eyes scanned the room around her.

Kokushibo was nowhere to be seen, and all she could see from her point of view were tables full of test tubes with weird liquids inside of them, a door was also located beyond those test tubes.

Moving closer to take a better look at the concoctions, Kiyomi smelled the scent of various flowers, mixing.

The overwhelmingly intoxicating smell felt suffocating, and she quickly moved as far away as possible away from the potions while covering her nose using her sleeves.

"What kind of weird flowery drug is that?! A whiff of that thing can knock out a normal adult human in under a minute!"

Preparing to rush for the door, she suddenly felt herself lifted off the ground with a hand holding onto her clothes.

"oomph!"

...

"That? That is a prototype of the potion that is going to give me the ability to walk in the sun."

Kiyomi didn't know when, but Muzan suddenly appeared behind her and answered her question.

Freezing at Muzan's reply, Kiyomi frowned.

"Well.. you'll know.. after you become a demon, the pain of not being able to stand in the sun. I am a perfect creature, and I'll make you one too."

'Wait, wha-'

*Slxch*

"uhk! guua~auk!" Feeling the cold sharp nails piercing one of the larger veins in her neck, she felt an unidentifiable liquid gushing into her veins, changing her body at a rapid pace.

At the same time, the Kitsune blood in her body was also conflicting with the demon blood of Muzan's, wreaking havoc everywhere in Kiyomi's body.

'F*ck you demons and necks! You guys aren't vampires! So what grievances do you have with my ne-ack! F*CK! WHY IS IT SO PAINFUL?!'

Taking his finger out of Kiyomi's neck like taking a knife from out of its sheath, Muzan observed the changes happening to Kiyomi's body.

Kiyomi, who felt the release of her neck, immediately dropped to the ground, clutching her neck and squirmed in pain.

The scent of the potions in the room further agitated Muzan's blood as it slightly turned both of Kiyomi's bloodlines purer.

However, this change was so minuscule that even Muzan didn't feel it happening, who was happily recording the results of the test subject of today.

Kiyomi's talent, rapid regeneration, which she got from the system, was constantly trying to repair the damages caused by the two conflicting blood inside Kiyomi.

Both bloodlines vied for dominance, when they came into contact with each other, it was like boiling oil meeting ice-cold water.

And at some point, the two blood started to merge, creating something resembling a demon, but not entirely.

Kiyomi's tail, which was uncontrollably revealed because of the chaos happening between the battle of the two bloodlines, slowly turned into a white snowy color with the tips being dyed in red, like the color of blood.

The veins on her face protruded as her eyes turned slightly darker, with even more depth.

If the original light amethyst eyes of hers gave her a cute and gentle look, the dark amethyst eyes now gave her a mysterious aura.

Realizing that she had become a human flesh-eating demon, Kiyomi can't help but have a few droplets of tears in the corner of her eyes.

She whimpered like a child who was abused, which in a way, she was.

Chuckling lowly, Muzan squatted down to meet Kiyomi's eyes.

"I'm feeling generous today.."

"???"

.

.

.

"Wait! Not the ne-"

Realizing what Muzan meant, Kiyomi's eyes dilated and she hurriedly tried to reject, but sadly, she reacted just a little too late.

With another fresh injection of Muzan's blood, Kiyomi's body, which had just settled down, went into battle mode once again.

"Ah.. that might have been too much. Tsk."

This time, Muzan had injected triple the amount of blood he originally gave Kiyomi.

Kiyomi, feeling the familiar burning feeling that she had not felt for five years, not counting what had just happened, couldn't help but let out a chilling shriek.

"ARGHHH~AHHHHHHH!"

Her heartbeat sped up, and her body temperature started to rise. The pain brought by merging different magical blood was different than normal blood.

That was because magical blood actually would know to fight back, while normal blood would only be able to accept the changes that are brought upon them.

As her temperature and heart rate went beyond human limits, a faint colored tattoo appeared, as usual, where all the pain happens, on the right side of her neck.

It was in the shape of a crescent moon, with wisteria flowers clinging onto it.

Little dots that seemed to shine extended from above the moon tattoo to the right side of her jaws, where it then stopped.

What decorated the background of these "tattoos" was a dark purple, black, and dark pink canvas.

And that canvas wasn't just a fixed shape, no, it twisted and its corners turned, just like how mist and clouds would behave under the influence of wind.

Combining all of these elements, you see a bright, luminous moon with brilliant, sparkling stars surrounding the moon, under a mysterious, yet enchanting galaxy background.

"Interesting... no demon has ever had slayer marks except Kokushibo, and now you.."

Muzan's eyes shined at the changes happening to Kiyomi.

And the changes didn't just end there, Kiyomi also started growing a pair of permanent fox ears on top of her head that she originally did not want to expose.

She didn't like the fox ears mainly because it would give her two pairs of ears, and though she would be able to hear much better than a bat, it would become her weakness if a disruptive noise disoriented her during battle.

So she mainly just hides the ears as she has no use for two pairs of ears. Oh, and did I mention that they are also really sensitive?

As the changes brought to her body slowly came to a halt, Kokushibo walked in through the door and took the unconscious Kiyomi back to the infinity castle.

...A few hours later...

"Ah!!!" Kiyomi's scream could be heard as she woke up from her coma.

Wiping the sweat off of her forehead, Kiyomi sat up on the bed.

This time, Kokushibo was nowhere to be seen, and she was all alone, by herself.

Guu~~

Feeling famished, Kiyomi took out the bag of candy from her wooden box and munched on a piece.

*Munch*

"PFFT!" Spitting out the candy, Kiyomi's mentality cracked a little.

'It.. it.. its like... eating glass...'

Shaking uncontrollably, she curled herself up and hugged her knees. Her eyes lost its brilliance as she blankly thought about life.

"hmm..hmm~ hm~" Humming a melody, Kiyomi tried to suppress the pain and depression in her heart.

No longer able to see the sun, no longer able to eat human food.

'But I still have a chance of being able to become human again, I just have to find Tamayo. She'll be able to cure me, in the anime, she cured Nesuko, so she'll definitely be able to cure me.'

"Right?"

Yeah, in the last chapter I said I'm going to be taking a few days of break, it just meant I'm getting some inspiration and doing some research. Also, the fanfic would be more immersive if you guys imagined the voices of the characters saying Japanese.
