Chapter 26: The surprise party

It had finally been a year. Just not the day the evil man would be coming yet. Next month is Hazels birthday. I don't know what to do for him. Hmm. Lets see. I know he does art, but I'm trying to see what I can do that involves art. "Oh I have the perfect plan! Its going to be great! "I will be right back. I have some business to take care of." I said.

Then I happily skipped to Hazel's work. It was his day off but not everyone's. Then I went in and asked to see the boss. "Is The boss in today?" "Yes Zuri. I will go get him."

"Hello Zuri what can I do for you?" "You know Hazel's birthday is coming up in week right?" He nodded. "Ok mind if I talk to you alone?" "Sure right this way." "OK so here is the plan." So I told him the plan. "That is a very good idea. I'm sure the kids will have fun too." "Don't worry I have the cake already ordered and they are making it now. As for the other stuff, its done. You just need to bring your stuff and have the others bring their's too." "Ok. This will be really fun. He will definitely be surprised."

"Ok see you then boss."

Then I skipped back home when I heard a commotion. Then I went to see what it was about. I saw Hazel being surrounded for some reason. "Hey Hey Back away! That's my fiancé your swarming around!" I finally got to him. "Why are they swarming around you?" "Long story. Could you help me get out of this surrounding people?" "Yeah. Come on." Then I dragged him through the people and locked the house door. "What was that all about?" "Well, he chuckled. Apparently my Boss decided to sell copies of my works. A lot of people love them. Once they found out I was the artist, they surrounded me." "Oh so famous Hazel. Can I get an autograph?" I Joked. "Haha very funny. You know you got me for life. I can get you as many autographs as you want for free." "Oh and make yourself free in a week. I'm not telling you why just do it." "Ok sure." "Hey is Tyde back yet?" "Yeah him and Kade are in their room." "Ok cool. See you later." Then I barged into their room and they were shocked. "Boys I have something to tell you." "You didn't need to barge in here." Said Kade. "Big sisters duty. Anyway." I quietly told them the plan. They were shocked about how awesome it sounded.

Me and Kade's birthday were in the same month like two months after Hazel's. Rio's birthday is a month before mine. He will finally be a year. I can't believe it. "OH and my uncle Aiden had a cute baby boy. They named him after his father Jami. My brother was born a week before my 4 birthday. Little Jami was born days before Dad's first love came over. She was a sweet lady. Should I say is a sweet lady. Her and father got their own place around here. I already told dad when I ordered the cake what was going on this week. He agreed. I made sure he and Uria participated.

Finally, it was the day we have all been waiting for. I was told everyone was ready. We were still living in the old house for awhile at least until we got married or after the war if it doesn't get torn down from the war. I was on my way home to get the man of the hour.

I got home, Hazel was waiting for me on the couch. I told him we were going on a date. So I could surprise him. Rio was already there with dad and Kade. So, I grabbed his hand and dragged him off.

"Woah now. Slow down Zuri. You are too fast." "Sorry. I'm just excited." "Is the date such an exciting place?" "Yep, sure is. We are almost there." When we finally got there, a big "SURPRISE! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Was yelled. With a sign painted on white sheets that say HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

"Happy birthday. My Birthday boy." "Thanks for this Zuri. I was really surprised." "I know you had your hand on your heart. I can hear it from a mile away its so loud." "Haha very funny. Now what have you planned?" "First, want to see the cake?" "Sure." Then everyone mingled. "Wow. Uh. You have out done yourself." "Well, it is only the first one I threw for you. Your first birthday I was here, I barely knew you." "Thank you for this." Then he kissed her on the cheek. Then we went to mingle with everyone.

After the mingling, it was time for the activities. Then since I was the host, I got everyone together. "Everyone together Please! Young and old!" Then once everyone was gathered I explained to everyone. "As you saw, we have a some easels here with Canvas' on them! Every one of you will be painting Pictures! The middle one is for Hazel! Hazel will be painting a masterpiece! You all can make your own masterpiece! Now there should be paints in a bag beside your easel! Now your names should be on your Easels! Go find it and start your art!" Then everyone went to find there easel.

I got Rio and his edible paint and took him to his little easel. He stood and started patting the easel with his hands. I got each person an apron as well. I wasn't so worried about little Rio's because his was washable. Once Rio was done, I cleaned the little guy up and put him in his playpen then I painted as well.

After a few hours, some were already done. Mine was halfway there. Then finally after another hour I was done. I covered my painting since it was for Hazel as a gift. I saw Hazel cover his. "OK is everyone done?!" I looked around and looked like it. "OK did everyone have enough snacksbetween painting?!" I heard everyone agree. "OK then. Now lets get to the cake! Hazel over here please!" Then we went over and knew what to do. He got the knife and cut the cake. He was turning 20 years old. Then I got some frosting, and smashed it on his face. Then he looked at me saying "MM. Yummy." Everyone laughed. "Let me taste." I licked the frosting on his face. "Hmm. Yes. It is." He had an embarrassed face. "Get a room!" said one of Hazel's coworker. Then I started cutting pieces of cake to everyone.

Once everyone was finished with the cake, it was time for revealed art and presents. "OK now! Its time to reveal if you want, your Masterpiece!" Then one by one everyone showed their Art. "Wow very beautiful. Everyone's Art is beautiful! Now it is time for Hazel to show his masterpiece!" I still hand mine covered. Then he uncovered it. Everyone was shocked. It was a picture of everyone standing here saying surprise when he first came here. "Wow! Hazel! Beautiful!" I said. Everyone agreed. "Now I have made one as well! It is a gift for Hazel! I hope he likes it!" Hazel went over, he looked at me then nodded. He lifted up the sheet. His eyes went wide. "Woah! No way! It looks beautiful. Thank you Zuri." Then he kissed me on the lips. "Oh well if that's what it takes to get a kiss, maybe I should paint more often." I joked. "Haha very funny." Then everyone else gave him presents. "Thank you everyone for your thoughtful gifts!" Then they mingled for the last of the party.

Once the party was closing, I was starting to feel sick. I found a trash can and puked in it. "No. Please not yet." Hazel saw her leaning over a trashcan. He ran over to her. "Are you ok?" He said while holding her hair and her back. I wiped my mouth. When we get back, I need to get a pregnancy test. I really hope I'm not at the moment. We aren't ready especially with the war coming." "Its ok Zuri. You will be fine." I started crying in Hazels arms. "Can we go now?" "Yeah I'll have some people clean up here. I'm sure dad and Kade will help bring stuff back." He went to talk to my dad and came back to me. "OK lets get Rio and start heading home." "OK lets go." He pushed the stroller while he held her.

They finally got home, and sat in the living room. Rio fell asleep so we put him to bed. "Even if you are pregnant, we will work it out. Plus I knew a royal who was pregnant and still fought. She was fine. Yes she wasn't showing she had just found out. I'm sure this baby will be strong." "Thanks Hazel." Finally dad and everyone came back. "Hey dad and everyone. Can you all watch Rio? He is asleep right now. I need to go to the clinic." "Are you sick Zuri?" said Tyde worried. "Yeah a little. I'm going to get checked out." "Ok I hope you will be fine." I nodded. "Thanks." So hazel and I left.

We went too the clinic and were told to go in. I was expected. "Hello doctor. I think I might be pregnant again. Can I get a test?" "Yes. Also if you are, we need to find out how far along you are." "OK that's fine." So she gave me a test and I went to the bathroom. She gave her urine to the lab and they tested it.

The doctor came back. "Well. Congratulations. You are having a baby." "Oh no." I said. "Its ok Zuri. I told you it will workout." "Oh I'm sorry." Said the doc. "No its fine." said Hazel. "We are happy, just bad timing." "Well we need to find out how far along you are. Both of you follow me."

I went into the room, they had and ultrasound machine to see how far along I was. So they put some slime on my stomach then rubbed the wand on my stomach. "Ah here we are. You see this little black bean? That is the sack. The tiny little speck is your baby." "Oh wow." I looked at Hazel. "Um. Is there anything we should avoid?" "If your talking about being intimate then that should be fine. Just be careful. Take this medication. It should help strengthen the baby. I want to see you again in 2 months." "Ok thank you." "Oh great." "Come on. We have to tell everyone."

So we got home and we sat on the couch. I sat next to Hazel and Kade sat next to father. Tyde sat at the table eating. Rio was being held by Tyde. "Are you ok?" said father. "Sigh. Yes I'm fine." I paused for a minute. "I am pregnant. I am going to have a baby." "Really? Yes!" said Kade. Then Rio got down and went to Zuri. "Hello little Rio. You have a sibling in there. You are going to be a big brother." He touched my belly.

"Baby." "Yes baby inside mommy's tummy." Then he giggled. "Ok come on buddy mommy needs to rest." Said Tyde. So Hazel brought me to the room to get some rest. "When can I train for the battle? You know the battle is only a few months away." "I know Zuri. Just get some rest for a couple of days, then see how you are. Oh and Jim is coming by today. Since he had to cancel that day." "OK that's good." "Get some rest. Then when he comes you can fully rested." Then Hazel helped me lay down and put his hands through my hair and I slowly began to fall asleep. I put my hand on my stomach.

A few hours later. I got cleaned up Did my hair, then came out to the living room. "They should be here any minute." Said Tyde. "Ok thanks." Then a few minutes later he came in with Zira. I saw Zira and she looked sad and nervous. I had them sit on the couch. "Hello Jim and Zira." "Oh hello Zuri. So I see you won't be coming to work anymore?" "No. I can't. Its sucks though. I really liked this work." "Well You can still work for us if you want. You can help people sell the stuff." "Really? That would be great! So has Rusty been over yet?" "No but he did say he was coming over in a few hours." "Oh good. I want to be there when he does!" Then Jim looked at Zira. "Oh um. Zira. She is here because she wants to say something." Then Tyde saw Zira. "Zira what are you doing here?" "Tyde just be quiet. She is about to speak." He shut his mouth with pursed lips. "I came to apologize for what happened. I know that Tyde was the one that stabbed you but I also feel responsible for telling him about you. Of course he already knew who you were. I'm really sorry. If there is a way I can make it up to you I will." "Hmm. Lets see." I looked at everyone and they nodded. "Well if you really want to make it up to me…." She looked at me. "Then continue being my friend. Maybe sometime give everyone a break and watch this kid for me." "What? Are you sure?" "Zira its ok. If she said it is, then it is. I'm sorry too. And Zira. Eri's father told you to watch me. You couldn't do anything. Sorry for that." "Oh yeah. I have to tell you how it all worked out with Tyde. But before that, I have to tell you two something. I'm pregnant. I'm going to have a baby. I'm already 1 month pregnant." "Really? Congrats!" Said Jim. "Yeah congratulations." "Thanks both of you. Hazel can I go help?" "Sigh. If she gets tired let her lay down somewhere close by ok?" "Yes sir." Said Jim. "Ok ready?" "Ready." Then I followed them out to the place where they sell the weapons we make.
