Chapter 13 : Be careful

I ran. I'd ran from them. This leg started numb already. My heart constantly pounded. My breath started inconsistently to take a breath in or out. My whole body was fucked up already.

(Bastards... how much farther did... I must run... from them?!!) I sighed inconsistently.

Now, I'm among the roots of a large tree. It's located nearby the swamps. It's enough to covered my whole body. Thanks to that, I was abled to hide in peace. At least, until the creatures are gone.

I looked expectantly from behind the roots. When I saw that, they tried to search for me. Their eyes move widely everywhere.

After a while, they went away. Got away from where I'm hiding. With they're gone, I feel relieved about that situation...

(That was fucked up situation!) I sighed several times.

Even though they were gone, I didn't head out right now. I lasted a little longer even though my body was drenched from being submerged in swamp water. Once it condition felt safe, I came out of that place.

When I had taken only a few steps, I heard a snort. A snort mixed with the sound of a baby crying. The voice came from behind me.

(Don't tell me!) I panicked and slowly looked back.

Realizing this, I immediately turned around. When I checked that, there were no creatures behind me. I'm starting to feel relieved...

"Phew!" I sighed. "What did I think... it turns out there's nothing behind me!"

However, the sound remained. In fact, louder than before. As for this sound, sounded above me. Immediately, I looked up with the help of my lighter.

When my lighter was turned on, how shocked I was... that monster...

The monster was right above me. The position creature was stuck to the tree trunk that I was occupied before.

"Phew!" I sighed. "What did I think... it turns out there's nothing behind me!"

"No... It's impossible... isn't-" My lighter then fell from my grip-"Wait!"

I suddenly remembered the number of those creatures before. When I tried to remember carefully, they amounted... four based on the number that I saw back then.

(This monster... is it already trying to wait for me... for a long time?!) I panicked and started to run.

Before I started to run, I'd been trapped by its tongue. Its tongue was so slimy that it difficulted for me to reach my knife.

(Bastard! I tried!) I tried to find a way out.

I started to open my eyes. Slowly, I started looking around. When I looked around, I was already at the edge of a swamp.

(Ah, shit! That kind of lizard had swallowed me whole like nothing!) I muttered annoyed.

I started holding my head because of the dizziness I felt right now. At that moment, Nostradamus's voice came from above,

"Damn you, Nostradamus! You came here just to laugh at me in the end!"

"Factual!" He started again to laugh. "Based on my precognition! But, I didn't know that thou'll get a death like that!" Again to laughed at me.

"Yeah!" I bitterly agreed with his statement. "You're right! I didn't expect that too!" I sighed for a while.

He started to silence a few minutes after I'd said my reaction. Then, he said again,

"Well-well!" he started to say with a happy tone. "Looks like, A child grew up and became an elementary school kid! So proud of thy grew up!"

"Stop it! I still held a grudge to punch you, huh!" I said with a deeper tone.

"Wow!" he started to say with a joyful tone. "How lovely confessed I'd! I waited in here for you!" His sound started to vanish already.

"What an asshole!" I sighed in a stressed tone. "For now, let us tried to catch a few meals!" I started to back to my hideout.

I started looking for some food. Hunting until fishing I'd done. I'd explored several spots. After several times I'd tried, I got some foods. Some foods were more than enough already I'd caught.

I started walking to my hideout. While I was headed on my way, I heard the baby crying voice. Realizing this, I looked around myself, especially above and behind me. Luckily, the creature isn't here.

(Is this their territory??! It's dangered to meet again when I'm not ready!) I started to change direction on my way to the hideout.

While I was walking, I accidentally started to see mucus on the tree. When I touched it, it smelled nasty. However, when the creature's voice started coming closer, I ran away and left behind that mucus.

(Move! Move!) I ran with fasted already.

After a while of running, I arrived at my hideout. At the same time, my stomach was rumbling. A sign that I should eat. Therefore, I immediately set up a bonfire to cook.

After a while of waiting, the food started to eat. I ate some fish with enthusiasm. Time flies away and the food that had been served is already finished. My stomach felt full already.

However, I felt something strange. My lips started to feel numb. Not only my lips but several of my bodies had also experienced the same thing, especially my face.

When I wanted to move my hand, my hand went numb. My legs gradually experience the same thing. This made me difficulted to move both of them.

(Shit! What's wrong with my body?? I can't move it at all?!!!) I panicked instantly.

Even so, calmly and focusely, I tried to move my arms and legs. But unfortunately, both of them still can't move at all. The numbness I received was getting worse.

(Fuck this shit! The more it's forcedly, the more I didn't feel anything!) I started to calm myself down while looking for a solution.

Unknowingly, my mouth was salivated profusely. My saliva flowed more and more as time went away. It's like I got the symptoms of being poisoned with something.

(Don't tell me... the mucus I touched before... is that a poison??!) I immediately recalled my memory of mucus on the tree.

(Fuck it! I must.. do something about it!!!) I moved my body forcedly.

Little by little steps, I crawled on the ground. I used my chin to crawl. As a result of that, my chin started to bleed.

In the middle of my condition, my eyes began to experience dizziness. Unbearable dizziness I had right now. It's like, I started to experience a kind of vertigo or similar. Even so, I still forced myself to move into the swamps for water.

I arrived at the entrance of my hideout. Seeing that, I tried moving to the swamps desperately ...

(I arrived at this point. Come on! A little more! To hell with this pain!) I forced myself.

I immediately moved out slowly. Little by little steps like a caterpillar crawling on a tree. Move with the pain I'd experienced right now.

With my condition that didn't recover yet, I forced myself to run. However, from behind, came the sound of running footsteps from the creature. This was supported by the sound of a baby crying that sounded clearer.

(Come on, Besper! Fuck this shit! Focus on running!) I forced myself to run.

At that moment, miraculously, I could move my legs. It's followed by my hands moving from that creature. Realizing this condition, I immediately ran. Even so, I ran like a cripple. Because of that, my run was slower than the condition I'd before.

Unfortunately, the creature was already beside me. Its mouth was already bitten the right side of my body. As a result, my body was like a science lab mannequin that was crushed in half.

I screamed in an agony tone because of my pain. I, who was almost dying, just glared at that creature angrily. At that same time, I spoke forcedly,

"Fuck... you... weird lizard!" I spoke in a halting tone.

After I spoke those few words, I was chewed up by a salamander.
