Chapter 39: Aftermath and Bliss

Hannah’s POV

I know that Alex and Devin will be back soon, but I don’t want to move out of his embrace. Once I do, reality sets back in, and I’ll be left wondering if this is a dream as well.

Though I know this time is different, for I remember every kiss, every touch, and moan. It may have been in a cave during a crazy time, but it will forever be in my memory.

A hand reaches up to brush my damp curls to the side of my face.

“You okay?” he asks tenderly. I kiss his hand as he lowers it past my lips and nods.

“I feel amazing,” I confess. His cheek becomes flush, making my heart swell. I turn in his arms and touch his face. “What about you?” I ask.

He kisses my hand tenderly and smiles, melting my heart.

“Perfect,” he says, his voice barely louder than a whisper, but in this space we created, I feel it all over me.

“And in the cave? I felt your distress,” I say, not wanting to ruin the moment, but this was a conversation we couldn’t have in mixed company.
