"What do you see?" Peter asked with a smile while Penelope was bent over a desk, staring at images of the DNA microscopy. It was lit up on a screen with red and green dots.
"This is Mourning Dove?" She asked.
"Yes."
"The DNA looks like the theoretical model. This is what we were trying to achieve." She looked at it for a longer time before straightening. "I don't understand. What changed? She was never one of the subjects."
Peter glanced at Zagan cautiously and then back to Penelope. "We received some information about the original Dove. She survived." He switched images on the screen to another that looked very similar. "After we received this confirmation about her existence, we decided to explore more options with Mourning Dove. Our efforts have been almost entirely focused on that. And quite successfully."
