"So you already know why you're here in the kingdom."
"Yup!"
Nadia and Lilith conversed with each other, the others listening, too, as they were also surprised that Amon had already told her, even to what extent his powers is.
It was at this moment that Amon forgot to tell Lilith to keep the other parts of their conversation a secret such as his powers and how vulnerable he is to them since the other children don't know, but Lilith surprised the Grim Reaper when she spoke nothing of it.
It was as if the two of them could read each other's mind even though they have not said anything and are not that close with each other...
"So... when are we going?" Aidan asked, their mother answering his question.
"Tomorrow morning," Dharvey answered, now looking at her husband, their children, then Lilith and Amon. "I know the human world pretty well since I was born and raised there so I can take you guys to some interesting places."
"Cool!" Lilith and Nadia exclaimed excitedly, doing a high five at the same time.
"Remember..." Sicily narrowed her eyes at Lilith. "We are all there on because of Nevin's and Amon's official business. We are still to stay in the mansion and wait for them to say what the itinerary is."
"Yes, Sicily, I know," Lilith replied, holding her hand and giving it a squeeze. "Don't worry... I'll be a good girl, okay?"
Sicily felt assured. She'd expect Lilith to be annoyed for being treated like a child but this time, she is genuinely okay that they have to follow what their plans are and not be hard-headed when she doesn't like this.
So Lilith can be this mature after all...
"Do we need to wear a disguise?" Nadia asked, looking at Lilith. "I mean... her hair and her eyes."
"Oh, what's the big deal?" Dharvey reacted, scoffing at the question as she waved her hand to dismiss it. "Let her look like that—it's her natural state. Besides... hair dye and changing eyes with contacts is normal. They can mistake her as a cosplayer."
Lilith's eyes sparkled like stars when she heard Dharvey's statement. How can she be this school? To Lilith, she seemed like an old-fashioned girl who would often tell her that her looks could garner attention—even unwanted attention. But to Dharvey?
Damn... Dharvey's like "fuck it, just go with it."
"Oh, Dharvey... you are indeed awesome."
Dharvey gave her a wink, then turning her head to look at her husband to ask him a question. "Alright... what time shall we go tomorrow?"
Nevin looked at the Grim Reaper. "Amon?"
"Hmm..." Amon contemplated for a while, looking at the clock around the room to answer his question. "We go around 10 AM. It's important for them to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep. By the time we arrive, we can go wherever we can go and then have lunch."
"Oh." Nevin grinned, crossing his arms in front of his chest. "I didn't expect you to agree to us exploring some places to have fun. I always pegged you as a workaholic person."
"Oh. W-well..."
Amon blushed beneath his mask once more. With him remembering that it is indeed Lilith's first time to go to the human world, he spoke to react to Nevin's statement as he left, everyone hearing his answer that even surprised everyone.
"It's for Lilith."
"A-Amon—"
Before Lilith could even reply, however, the Grim Reaper had already closed the door, leaving everyone alone as he immediately made his way to his own room. Nadia and Aidan then grinned ear to ear as they elbowed Lilith, teasing her.
"So, what was that, what was that?" Nadia teased, a smug expression coming to her face.
"I heard you two had a private talk so it must be more than that, right?" Aidan teased as well, making Lilith narrow her eyes at the twins.
"Oh, stop it, you two. There is nothing. He just scolded me on why I should be adamant on wanting to go to the human world and I completely stood my ground as to why I want to go. That's why he said it's for me because I wanted to really explore the world above."
Lilith then pushed their hand away from her sides, the young lady already walking away.
"Aaah! Lilith—"
"Good night!" She interrupted, sticking her tongue out at them as she left as well. "See you tomorrow!"
***
A man with long, straight, blue hair walked back and forth in front of a tree with silver leaves. His long hair can almost drape along with his white dress for it can reach until his ankles. Some of his hair went loose from his long, pointy ear, making him feel irritated as some of his bangs poked his green eyes.
The leaves kept falling and pooling beneath his feet, the crunchy sound the only thing he could hear as the people around him watched as if waiting for an answer.
"What should we do, King Aluxio?" one woman asked as she flew towards him. She then bowed and kept her wings behind her back so as to show respect to their ruler. "The tree is dying. Our whole realm is on its end. Without her, we can't—"
"Silence," Aluxio interrupted, his voice soft, yet harsh at the same time. "There is no need to rush me. I know what I'm doing."
"My apologies, King Aluxio," the woman apologized, further lowering her bow. "It's just that the fairies are anxious, and is waiting for the result of—"
"King Aluxio, King Aluxio!" The woman's statement was cut mid-sentence, when another fairy, a male at that, flew towards them in a panic. "That woman... finally. She's awake!"
Not bothering to reply to his fellow fairy, immediately, King Aluxio flew in the direction to where the male fairy came from. The moment he did, he shouted to order everyone around him.
"You are not to enter with me. Understand!?"
And so the fairies dared not speak a word. With their king now entering the room, King Aluxio sealed the room with leaves and thorns for others not to disturb them.
"Damn you, Avilyn," King Aluxio cursed within his breath. "If only you didn't change how you looked like, I would have found you and killed you in my stead!"
Heya! From this point on, what do you think will happen and what can you guess? ;) More chapters to come tomorrow!
