Deadly promises

It all started with two like most tales of old. However unlike those this one is said to be true. The last daughter of the Clearwater and surviving son of Clydesmith. One's heart blind by pain and hate, while the other is struck with guilt and Sorrow. The funny thing about tragedy it has the prower to destroy but it also has the power to bring people closer. This very lesson is one the two will surely learn the hard way. So my dear sweet children gathered round and I shall share with you this tale.

If she didn't go threw with this will he kill her? So many lives are in her hands. Iris as the queen must put her people first even at the sacrifice of herself. 'Tust the prince he will not harm you.' That warm female voice came in her mind startling her. 'When all else fails the rule of two will prevail. You must choose soon child for the lives of many are in your hands.' The voice came threw again giving Iris a headache. Iris saw both sanrios play out. It was not hard a choice but to her it was a punch in the gut.

After getting dressed jeans, white t-shirt, black sneakers. It was not the best look but it made me comfortable so I was ok with it. "My lady are you seriously going to marry one of them! They are excommunicated creatures due to their abilities. What makes you think he will uphold his end of the bargain?" Charry and Tarry bombard me. I mean they have a right to be concerned by this. "I know the risks but what choice do we have. If I marry the siren prince....we will not only have strong allies but also safe passage to the elves territory. I have no choice here the lives of so many are in my hands. Anthony and the council need to be stopped. This is the only way my decision is final." I said in a tone that made me flinch on the inside. This is the only way is all I can tell myself not seeing any other way out of this.

Anthony pov

I see a vail of black smoke engulfed the room Solea used. The smoke took shape and soon the sun Elf was resting on the bed. "WAKE UP YOU USELESS ELF!" I yelled causing him to jump gasping. "What happened where is that bitch?!" He growled before looking at me. "You underestimated her you dumb ass!" I said before pinching the bridge of my nose shaking my head. "Look you want Percephany back right?" Solea nods glaring at me. "Then I suggest you get it together. One more slip up and you will pay the price." Is all I said before leaving the room.

Dammit Iris I am doing this for you for us. Why can't you see that. 'The rule of two Anthony.' A warm female voice said from ahead in the thrown room. I entered to see a a female bathed in white light. I can't see her face but couldn't ignore the instinct to fall on my knees before her. 'Anthony my sweet child you are straying from your goal. You wished to prove your innocence to Iris. You sending people after her doesn't help your case here. Anthony will you sacrifice yourself for the sake of love, or will you kill the woman you love to retain power? The choice is yours' the woman said turning into a snow owl flying away. Who was she what did she mean by the rule of two? 'When the time comes you will know.' Her voice rang out in my mind.

I have been busy with the preparations of Iris's arrival. It has been 126 years since my father struck a deal with the former king. I didn't expect her to go threw with the agreement but, I am presently surprised either way the contract will be honored. 'She will be wonderful for us a powerful queen.' Tandu said in my mind. 'Yes but what if she feels disgusted by us?' I asked the over grown koi fish swimming around happy in my mind. 'Time it will take but nothing worth doing is ever easy. We waited this long for our Water hyacinth what is a few more days?'

I shook my head at the over grown fish. I worry she won't remember me at all.  'Then remind her no one truly forgets a person. It takes time for memories to resurface.' Tandu said making me sigh. 'Be patient wait in the tide like father taught us.' I hate when he is right but I got work to do. 'Stop distracting me I have work to do.'  The lakes and rivers were cleaned the trees were pruned for presentation. The forest was cleard of trash and anything that could harm.  After two days the work was done and by this time tomorrow she will be here. "My lord a message for you." one of the scouts said handing me a paper it had magic embedded in it. No doubt Morgana old crone no doubt is up to no good.

"Thank you now back to your post." I said dismissing the young boy.  I opened the letter to find one phase  'the rule of two'. My heart went to my stomach. No anything but this. I thought crying holding the letter to my chest. "My sweet angel fish fate is cruel." I whispered praying this is some sick joke.

The drive was in silence I can't believe this is happening. I don't want to be married to a Siren let alone a prince. I just lost Jackson and my children it's to soon. I felt tears threatening to fall but I hold it all in.  This is for the supernatural community our world. I must put the lives of my people first I am the queen and no one will take that from me.

We arrived at the base of the mountain  a man sat on a rock. His skin was tinted green but mostly carmel, long black unkempt hair , black eyes, lanky, 6ft. "Our prince is waiting for you lady Iris. " the male said in a no bullshit tone. We followed three a secret passage, the steps were made of clay and smelled like marsh mud. "We are almost there keep up." My oh so kind escort said. This is why I don't like sirens they lack emotional empathy. "We are moving but safety is also on our minds." I said and he hissed at me. "I don't give a shit about you or your safety. Now keep up the prince is waiting." I held in my rage knowing it won't do me any favors.
