Chapter 87: Don't Leave Me Behind

Cybertron, the planet of machines.

Earth - the vast energy of Unicron, guided by Quintessa's staff, surged from the Twelve Knights' traitor ship in the Pacific Ocean, drawing out the deepest power.

This power shot skyward, crossing Earth's atmosphere, penetrating through decaying steel cavities, and lancing into the central platform of Cybertron.

"Hahaha!!!!"

Quintessa was enveloped in the energy on the platform, her expression joyful. Her eyes widened as she let out an unrestrained, maniacal laughter that echoed throughout the central core of Cybertron. Her sharp laughter pierced the air, resounding in the metal heart of the planet.

Feeling every particle within her body torn apart and reborn with pain and pleasure, as she absorbed the cosmic-level energy of Unicron, Quintessa couldn't help but laugh heartily in the midst of this painful yet exhilarating experience. Every moment she grew stronger, her laughter echoed in the powerful atmosphere.

No one truly comprehended the immense power of Unicron. He had roamed the cosmos, feared by countless life forms who regarded him as the embodiment of darkness, chaos, and destruction—the Lord of Chaos and the epitome of annihilation. He was said to possess ultimate power that no one in the universe could rival.

The only one who had ever contested him was the original Primus, who had later become Cybertron.

In the ancient cosmos, the two of them had battled, leaving Unicron gravely wounded. He had been forced to escape to the Milky Way Galaxy and hide in a secluded corner, entering a deep slumber, eventually becoming Earth.

On the other hand, Cybertron, embodied by the original Primus, had been shattered into pieces by his descendants, the Transformers.

In the universe without the original Primus, Quintessa, who had absorbed Unicron's energy, had seized control of the galaxy, ruling over star systems and commanding the universe. She was on the verge of achieving an attainable feat.

How could this not make Quintessa, who had been planning for millions of years and was now successfully absorbing Unicron energy, proud and laugh with exuberance?

Even she hadn't expected that the carbon-based life form would allow her to absorb the energy of Unicron so easily.

"Is it your pride in the power of your carbon-based life form?" Quintessa taunted.

"Hahaha—"

"Utterly ignorant and pitiful. The greatest power in the universe resides within my body!"

Quintessa's metallic-textured skin exuded a sinister smile. Her exposed metal teeth gleamed cruelly. Bathed in the energy of Uncron, she gazed peculiarly at the approaching Transformers, Shockwave and Megatronus.

"Master, we have learned the purpose of the Gold Barrier. He is about to complete the seventh layer of the golden barrier, gathering solar energy and using his carbon-based life form body to absorb solar energy."

Shockwave knelt on one knee and spoke in a deep voice.

"This carbon-based life form is simply too foolish, too proud, too arrogant. How dare he not stop me from absorbing Unicron's energy! Doesn't he realize that this used to be the ultimate power that dominated the universe?"

"But how could I pass up the opportunity to weaken you by the slightest bit?"

"Go, stop him, and destroy his final golden barrier."

Quintessa, bathed in the cleansing energy, had a moment of indignation, her eyes flashing with the humiliation of feeling like a clown, fully prepared to face the hardships that awaited her.

She had thought that H'el would take action to prevent her from absorbing the energy, given all the fear and precautions she had prepared to absorb Unicron's energy without being noticed. However, H'el had not made a move and had let her absorb it freely, making all her preparations futile. She felt like a fool, and no one had paid her any attention.

In front of Shockwave and Megatronus, Quintessa's face was burning with embarrassment. She believed that this carbon-based life form was too arrogant and didn't take her seriously. She was determined to exact ruthless revenge, to humiliate and dissect him thoroughly, and to subject him to the most terrifying torture the universe had to offer, just to alleviate the hint of humiliation in her heart.

"Yes, Master."

Controlled by Quintessa, Transformers Shockwave and Megatronus replied, half-kneeling.

They turned and left Cybertron, heading towards the expanding seventh layer of the golden barrier in space.

Shockwave felt a growing sense of unease. Quintessa was using them as tools, sending them to their deaths. He knew that he and the controlled Fallen Transformer Megatronus wouldn't be a match for H'el. They wouldn't even have a chance if he looked at them directly.

Quietly stepping back, Shockwave transformed into a surveillance satellite's soundwave form, ready to respond at any moment. They approached the space where the seventh layer of the golden barrier was spreading, but only to get closer.

A powerful electromagnetic field distorted the signals and instantly tore apart the Fallen Transformer Megatronus who was in front. Megatronus didn't even get a chance to use his teleportation ability; he was already trapped in this super-strong electromagnetic field and was twisted.

"Super-electromagnetic field, how is this possible?"

Megatronus' vision blurred, and he nearly died. Transformers themselves had metal-based cell antibodies that resisted electromagnetic radiation, and electromagnetic waves wouldn't easily affect their bodies. However, the super-electromagnetic field fixed in space on the seventh layer was far beyond the resistance of their metal-based cells. It acted like a trap, directly strangling and distorting anything that entered its range.

Megatronus' lower half was shattered, and mechanical parts scattered in space.

"Don't leave me, Soundwave!"

His eyesight dimmed as he saw his subordinate, Soundwave, transformed into a surveillance satellite in space, far away from him. He couldn't help but plead.

"Yes, Commander Megatronus."

Soundwave, who had always been loyal, had never abandoned Megatronus. Back in the ancient Cybertronian war that erupted 9 million years ago, when Soundwave served as an intelligence officer, he was an indispensable right-hand man for Megatronus. His loyalty and abilities earned him Megatronus' trust.

He had never betrayed Megatronus.

Soundwave, now transformed into a surveillance satellite, quickly deployed his satellite reception panel and fired a gravity restraint pulse at Megatronus' upper body. He then pulled Megatronus into his satellite's center and propelled himself back towards Cybertron with a burst of thrust flames.

The starry sky once again fell into silence, continuing its eternal stillness, dark, cold, and devoid of any signs of life.

The seventh layer of the golden barrier was gradually covering nearly one-third of the Earth. Proton-to-proton circuit connections spread out, radiating a dazzling and magnificent golden barrier. With the final proton connection completed, the entire seventh layer of the golden barrier emitted a radiant glow, absorbing and converging all the light in the space near Earth.

The entire Earth was now officially plunged into darkness, concealed by the sevenfold repeating golden barrier.
