Arctic.
The Fortress of Solitude.
The Fortress of Solitude was now clearly divided into two major sections.
One was the Genetic Information Biology Department, where they extracted Superman's genetic information for comparative experiments. The other was the Speed Force Research Department, where the Flash was constantly urged to run and find methods to store the Speed Force while studying it.
Kryptonian researchers worked quietly and diligently, using advanced mechanical experimental instruments to research and compare at a speed hundreds of times faster than before.
H'el was currently in the Genetic Information Biology Department, using his super vision. Veins throbbed on his face as he scrutinized Superman's body.
He was eager to know what made Superman so special that, after basking under the sun for eighty-five thousand years, he had become a dimensional-breaking being, a Golden Superman.
Was it due to his training? What kind of techniques did he practice? How did he directly break through dimensions?
Or was it because of the original Life Codex? Were the materials of the Life Codex inherently unique?
Or perhaps it was because he had all of Krypton's combined genes?
Or was it related to natural birth?
Or... was it because some supreme being was watching over him and had left a backdoor?
"Or maybe... it's all of the above?"
The veins on H'el's eyes slowly subsided as his skin regained its smooth and fair complexion, and deactivated his super vision that was even enhanced with the magnifying glass from his suit.
This was destined to yield no results. Perhaps all of his speculations were the reasons.
If breaking through dimensions required all these conditions, it would be an incredibly arduous task.
As for techniques, H'el believed that with his intelligence, he could undoubtedly create his own techniques. If not, he could travel through the vortex to some worlds with peculiar techniques, observe the world, and create his own techniques by gaining insights from various worlds.
As for the materials of the original Life Codex, H'el didn't see it as a problem either. Although the Life Codex was now inside Superman's body and couldn't be extracted entirely, he could awaken time travel in the future and directly travel back to the era of Krypton, create a fake Life Codex to replace it, and take the genuine one for himself.
Gathering all of Krypton's genes was even less of a problem.
Natural birth wasn't that important.
As for the supreme being watching over... let's forget about that. The risks outweighed the benefits.
If there was a possibility, H'el would choose to ascend to a higher dimension on the path of the Speed Force and becoming a Fifth-Dimensional being. However, within Superman's body's potential, he couldn't see any strange or dimension-breaking potential.
H'el frowned slightly. His strength had reached its limit, and there had been no significant changes. He yearned for greater transformations and advancements.
And the Speed Force, stored within his cells, was slowly changing due to the stimulation it provided to his cells. It was highly likely that someday in the future, because of the Speed Force's influence on his cells, it would awaken the ability for time travel.
H'el's research on the Speed Force had already reached the limits of what he could investigate. Just one hour after Barry's Speed Force had entered his cells, H'el engaged his brain at full processing capacity. In just one short hour, he achieved calculations and research that would take an ordinary human millions of years.
He had gained more information about the Speed Force than Barry, but this surplus was like a drop in an ocean, immersing him in an insurmountable problem.
Understanding the fundamental aspects of the Speed Force was not as easy as it seemed. It was as if it was a property of numerous particles, difficult to perceive that it possessed the ability to traverse time and space.
Blind repetition of research had been exhausted, and perhaps what was needed now was a different source of inspiration.
So, H'el had returned to Superman's side, observing him closely, hoping to gain some inspiration or find a breakthrough from Superman's body.
Suddenly!
"Your Majesty, an unknown incident has occurred in the Speed Force Research Department. Researchers are fainting one after another, and the Flash has disappeared inside the superconductor isolation chamber." A researcher who had witnessed the incident hurriedly came to report to H'el.
"Hmm?"
H'el snapped back to reality from his thoughts, and his feet lifted off the ground, creating a whirlwind as he quickly flew towards the Speed Force Research Department.
Although the research on the Speed Force had hit a bottleneck, the Flash was still a potential threat. His ability to travel through time alone was lethal, and it was always better to have control over him.
In case he carelessly traveled through timelines, creating a chaotic multiverse without H'el, that would be a disaster.
H'el swiftly arrived at the Speed Force Research Department, where he saw all the researchers in their white lab coats lying unconscious on the floor, their eyes closed, and in a state of deep unconsciousness.
Clearly, it was a sudden event. Some of the researchers who were operating equipment had collapsed along with their devices, completely unresponsive.
Inside the reinforced transparent superconductor isolation chamber, the Flash's figure was no longer visible, and it was empty.
These researchers were Kryptonians, and while they didn't possess the formidable combat abilities of soldier genes, they weren't the kind of people who could be incapacitated so easily.
H'el halted in the middle of the Speed Force Research Department's lobby, surveying the surrounding environment.
Suddenly, he felt as if there was a gaze fixed on him from a corner.
*Pong!*
H'el sharply turned his head, creating a rush of airflow. His eyes began to scan for any signs but found nothing.
He then activated microscopic vision, but still didn't spot any similar molecules or atomic-level microorganisms. Nano-machines rapidly entered the area around his eyes, veins becoming visible around his eyes. The magnifying lens enhanced his vision, piercing through sightlines and microscopic views, examining various electromagnetic radiations. Yet, there was still nothing to see.
Finally, he activated string vision. Countless densely packed vibrating strings faintly appeared in his eyes. He watched as space changed due to the vibrations of these strings, attempting to observe something on a fundamental level of spatial existence.
Still, he saw nothing.
"?"
H'el was puzzled. He had used every physical means to observe, even delving into the fundamental strings of space itself, but he couldn't see any object or person.
However, he trusted his instincts. Someone was watching him!
"A form of transcendent physical phenomenon... invisibility or cloaking? Or perhaps surveillance from outside dimensions?"
H'el speculated silently. He stopped using string vision, maintaining the fearsome appearance of the magnifying lens. He walked over to the nearest researcher and used various vision modes like x-ray, microscopic, and more to observe the researcher closely.
In the end, H'el extended his mental powers into the researcher's brain and discovered traces of a psychic attack.
*Boom!*
H'el immediately turned around, his psychic power surging towards the position he sensed the surveillance from, like a raging tidal wave.
A green Martian Manhunter hologram enveloped in lightning, with pained red eyes, appeared in front of H'el.
