The Estranged Saiyan 4

Kakumei sat within the room that had been prepared for him. It had been roughly a week since his arrival to Earth. During that time, Kal had brought several books for him to read. Some of which were English dictionaries to further aid him in learning the language. Though a thought did occur to him about the complicated world that was Earth. Firstly, they named their planet after dirt...what kind of naming was that? The Saiyan had heard stories of Earth, though the planet was known as Terra back on Warworld. Mongul had spoken many times about having traveled there and battling a Kryptonian. He didn't know said Kryptonian would have been Kal El, until they had made their escape.

The Saiyan finished reading yet another English dictionary and found his knowledge of the language to have grown significantly. It wasn't as much as when he heard Kal and his allies speaking the language, but it was good enough. Kakumei still remembered his bout with the one called Wonder Woman, or rather Diana. She was fierce, fiercer than any warrior that he had faced in the gladiatorial arena. She had skill beyond his own, and strength that matched his or possibly surpassed it. He had never felt like his life had been in danger for five years, as if he could have lost. Nearly everyday of his life on Warworld was spent fighting, killing, surviving, and repeat. He had no allies, only enemies. The only one whom he could have called friend was Preus, a Kryptonian who had survived his world's destruction. Said individual had found himself on Warworld imprisoned across from Kakumei.

The Saiyan and the Kryptonian were rivals, then soon became friends. Unfortunately, Mongul did not want his champion to lose his edge. So the Lord of Warworld had the two fight to the death, or he would have killed them both. Preus was unwilling to do this....but Kakumei did not wish to die. It was how he was nurtured, to not allow himself to become the prey. To be the predator, to be the triumphant....or die trying.

A knock came from his door, causing the Saiyan to glance over. He could detect two people behind the door. One was Kal, the other was someone else. The door slid open to reveal the Kryptonian in his blue and red garbs. Beside the Kryptonian was the black and gray costumed male from before. 'That is the one called Batman, I believe.' Kakumei thought, then slowly turned while eyeing the two of them.

"Kakumei, how are you doing?" Kal asked, trying to be cordial. The Kryptonian being nice to the Saiyan was still an odd thing to him. Kakumei didn't know how to react to the Kryptonian's more compassionate attitude towards him. The Saiyan had long healed from his injuries while battling Diana. Instead of replying, he simply narrowed his eyes on Batman, giving him a once over.

"I hope that you're doing well", Kal continued, "I was hoping to have a talk with you, Batman thinks-"

"I want you off this station." Batman suddenly said bluntly and with an emotionless tone. Kakumei simply raised a brow, then watched as the Kryptonian looked to his ally with a stern look.

"Batman-"

"No Superman, he doesn't identify with nice people", Batman interrupted once more, "He's use to people ordering him around and being straightforward. Beating around the bush isn't going to cut it. You want to take it slow, well I think that he should interact with the world that you plan for him to live on."

Kakumei looked between the two, then processed what Batman was saying. He had nearly forgotten that he was suppose to live on the planet. The Saiyan turned to look out of his room's window, staring down at the blue marble. He pondered on what he was to do if he went down there to live. Then heard a set of footsteps approaching him from behind, instead of turning around he stood still. It was Batman who had approached him rather confidently.

"The League can't accommodate indefinitely, so I've put together some funds, clothes, and a new identity for you", Batman stated, "Superman thinks that you should live among us, and I think that you should get down there and actually be with the people. I don't care where you came from, I don't care what you are. I only care if you're a threat or not, and so far you've only proven yourself to be. So when you get down there, and if you so much as cross the line...you'll answer you me."

Kakumei didn't moved or say a word for a moment. Then before Kal could speak, the Saiyan slowly turned around and glare down at the bat costumed human. His eyes narrowing onto the man like a predator who was being threatened by a rival. Then he spoke, his voice still as deep and menacing as before. "You may try..." Kakumei warned, retorting with a threat of his own in English.

{Jump City, Sanfranciso}

Kakumei stepped out of the Javelin that had brought him there. His black pupils looking around at the environment that he was in. He was surrounded by tall trees, the forest around him was littered with the noise of multiple animals that roamed the landscape. In the distance was a city, one that was said to be Kakumei's new home. Glancing back, the ramp to the Javelin was still open. At the bottom of it was Diana who had an apologetic look on her face. She seemed as if she wanted to say something, but the Saiyan wouldn't prompt her to speak. The Amazon pursed her lips and spoke with an apologetic tone. "Forgive me for breaking your arm, I had never battled one such as yourself so i...got a little carried away." Diana apologized.

Kakumei stared at her in silence, his face showing no emotion. He was dressed rather casually. He had on a black hoody that had the "S" shield symbol of Kal. A pair of black cargo pants, and a pair of gray hiking shoes. Saiyan also had a army green duffle bag that had what clothes that were given to him, as well as his armor. Kakumei continued to stare at Diana, seemingly processing her words. Until he uttered his own words which surprised the Amazon. "I am sorry that it ended so soon.." He spoke in a low tone, then turned and began to walk in the direction of Jump City.

Diana watched him leave, her eyes staying on him as a small smile came to her lips. It wouldn't be long before the Amazon returned inside of the Javelin. Kakumei on the other hand was beginning to think on what he should do. He was no longer on Warworld, and he was no longer locked away upon the Watchtower. He was now on the planet itself once more, possibly to live among the Terrans. Not a day goes by at how the Saiyan viewed this world's people. He had skimmed through what history that Kal had him read. In each and every one of them, the Terrans repeat the past. They have fought wars, betrayed one another, and massacred entire peoples. All for power, wealth, and to be the top. Why is it wrong to kill one now when they have grown so use to doing it to themselves? That thought ended when Kakumei heard a gunshot. Then came the whimp of some kind of canine animal.

Kakumei frowned slightly, then began to walk in the direction of where he heard that sound. It would take him several long moments, but eventually he would happen upon three men. One of which was standing over a nearly human sized canine animal. 'I believe that those are called...Gray Wolves.' The Saiyan thought, then watched as that same human shot the wolf once again. Kakumei barely flinched, seeing the death of the animal was nothing new to him. That was when he heard warning barks, then centered his gaze upon a gray furred pup that hid underneath a log in fear. One of the men let out an agitated sigh, then raised his gun at the pup. Kakumei watched this, doing absolutely nothing for a moment. Then began to have an memory emerge within the deepest recess of his mind.

The memory that came to him was that of a baby's wails. One that had belonged to him, before it was subsequently silenced after a sharp pain pierced him through. Grunting, the Saiyan nearly stumbled and held his head. He had gotten a slight migraine from remembering some of his past. When he faced forward, he heard the pup beginning to whine, howling for help. Nothing came, no one came, not a single soul was going to answer it's cries for help. So the Saiyan slowly narrowed his eyes upon the humans, then time seemed to hold still for him. The gun that the human had pointed at the wolf went off slowly. Kakumei stepped forward, and in speed that could only be described as beyond superhuman, he moved towards the humans. The Saiyan moved himself right beside the man who had fired down at the defenseless wolf pup.

In a quick swipe, Kakumei picked the pup into one hand just as the pellets from the human's gun nearly touched it. Time seemed to have return to normal, and for a moment the man was confused. Then turned to find the tall Saiyan towering beside him. The wolf pup barked thrice, then looked up at the Saiyan. Kakumei however glared down at the man who had slowly began to turn his gun towards him. Just as he was about to pulled the trigger in a panic, the Saiyan placed his hand over the barrel. The gun itself backfired and exploded in the man's hands. He may not have died but he had suffered from sever burns. The human cried out in pain as he fell onto his rear. Kakumei watched as the human's accomplices rush over and gawk up at him in shock. They hadn't noticed him or even heard his approach. His size wasn't what intimidated them however, it was the sudden scarlet eye color that pierced into their very soul.

"Leave...." Kakumei ordered, and watched as the humans quickly grabbed their compatriot and rushed off. The Saiyan waited until they had gone further away. Then turned his attention down towards the wolf pup that sat atop his palm. The canine tilted it's head to the side, watching Kakumei attentively. Slowly and somewhat gently, the Saiyan set the pup down onto the ground, then turned and began walking off towards the city once more. He had left the pup behind, to fend for itself. Kakumei may not have been intelligent but he knew one constant in life, nature is fair to all living things. It provides what you need, and it will take it way just as quickly as it provided it.

Unfortunately, the Saiyan had gotten himself an admirer...

{Two Hours Later}

Kakumei's stomach growled audibly, to the point that it sounded like a monster growling. He had finally reached the city limit and could already smell different scents of food. Before he took another step forward, he heard something sniffing him. Turning, the Saiyan found nothing behind him. Then he slowly looked down to find his admirer, the same wolf pup that he had saved from before. Kakumei stared down at the pup with no expression on his face, but he was mentally confused. He was under the impression that wolves did not like humans. He knew that he wasn't human, but he did look the part...mostly. The Saiyan's tail wasn't exactly concealed. It was used as his belt once more, not wanting to hiding it nor make it uncomfortable.

The wolf pup looked up at Kakumei then barked, causing the Saiyan to frown at it. He couldn't understand, then again this the first time that he has ever met an animal that had yet try and feast upon his bones. Instead of humoring whatever wolf pup was barking about, he turned and began walking once again. He could hear the little paws of the pup following him, as if it were his beast of burden. Kakumei said nothing and did his best to try and ignore the canine, even as he entered Jump City. He was walking down the sidewalk, looking at everything. The Saiyan was taking in everything around him, almost admiring what he saw. He came to a halt once he saw cars speeding by ahead of him. Kakumei looked up to find the light was red for those to walk. Unfortunately the wolf pup did not see that, for it continued to walk forward.

Kakumei looked forward to see the wolf pup continuing to walk, oblivious of what was speeding towards it. The Saiyan processed what was happening, then saw a blood red car speeding down the road about to run over the pup. In the blink of an eye, Kakumei rushed forward and stood in between the wolf pup and the car. He moved his foot forward, and watched as the car smashed into it, the hood caving in under his shoe. The Saiyan was like a wall, and the car had just crashed into him. Kakumei removed his foot from the car's demolished hood just as he heard sirens speeding over. He then turned and grabbed the pup by the nape of their neck. He stared into the pup's eyes, and watched it bark at him happily. The Saiyan however had an unimpressed look on his face.

"W-what da hell did we hit!?" Shouted one of the passengers in the car. The pushed the door open from the back seat, then stumbled out with an UZI in hand. Turning, they aimed at Kakumei and gritted their teeth angrily. "You some hero or somethin!?", the man cried while hearing a kabuki mask, "The Titans ain't here and now I've got discount Superman wanting to play hero!? FUCK YOU!"

The man pulled the trigger and opened fire on Kakumei and the wolf pup in his grasp. Time seemed to slow down once again, he would have just tanked the bullets. Unfortunately, the pup was not bulletproof and he was beginning to get tired of trying to find clothes that could fit him. So the Saiyan reached out with his free hand, then began catching the bullets just as they came in three feet of him. He did this for just about a minute as time return to normal. Kakumei's eyes had that crimson hue to them as he had an enclosed fist held out in front of him. Onlookers watched as he opened his hand, then dropped approximately thirty-two bullets onto the ground. Each having been crushed within his palm after having been caught by him. The masked man stared wide eyed at Kakumei, then dropped his gun and immediately put his hands up.

The Saiyan tilted his head, and watched as the city's officers rushed over after having gawked at Kakumei long enough. They arrested the man along with his accomplices in the car. Each having been out cold or too incoherent to move. Kakumei watched this happen as he still held the wolf pup by the nape of it's neck. One of the officers came over with an impressed smile on her lips, she looked Kakumei up and down before beginning to speak. "Nice work, these guys were giving us a pretty good chase", she thanked, "Sergeant Reyes, it's nice to meet you Supes...or whatever you go by."

Kakumei stared at the woman for a moment, and noticed that she had held her hand out for him to shake it. He stared at her hand for a few seconds, then nearly trained himself to not break her hand as he reached put to shake her hand now. The woman's smile became wider as she raised a brow at him. "You got a name that you go by? That 'S' already belongs to someone else ya know?"

Kakumei was about to open his mouth to say his name, but remembered that Kal had told him that doing so was a bad idea. So instead he decided to use a different name. "Saiyan." Kakumei stated, his voice catching the woman off guard.

"Well, Saiyan, could you stick around?", Reyes asked, "I'm sure that the Teen Titans would-" Before the officer could finish, Kakumei simply turned then began to ascend into the air. He soared upwards, to the point that he was above the buildings, then flew off and away from the scene.

The Saiyan would fly further away until coming to a halt in downtown Jump City. He landed down on the sidewalk, startling many civilians who stared up at him in awe. The Saiyan could smell food nearby, so too could the wolf pup that was still in his grasp. Kakumei began walking over towards what he thought was somewhere to eat. He entered not long afterwards, and placed the wolf pup in his hoody's pocket. The pup was small enough to fit, and he was getting tired of holding it. It wouldn't be long before he got entry to the "restaurant"...after learning what "dine-in" meant of course. After finding a seat on a balcony, the Saiyan felt the wolf pup ruffle about before coming out of his hoody pocket. It jumped atop the table and turned to sit facing him. The two stared at each other, with the pup giving him a look of expectancy. It looked to be a stare down, one that Kakumei had expected himself.

After another moment of silence, Kakumei found himself allowing a small breath leave him before relenting. "Fine...you may eat." He said, and heard the pup barked at him happily. Just when things seemed to be going well, Kakumei felt a prescence approaching him. He nearly tensed up, but tried to hold back his natural instinct to attack. After all, he didn't want to make the mistake of attacking one of this world's "heroes". When the prescence had gotten close enough, that was when he heard a voice that he wasn't expecting to here.

"Demon Monkey?" Came a female and soft voice from behind Kakumei. The Saiyan slowly turned, and looked to see an orange skinned, long blazing red haired, and emerald green eyed Tamaranean standing there. Behind her were others of course, but his attention was on this young woman standing before him. He faintly remembered her from his time on Warworld. That was when the Saiyan's eyes narrowed upon the Tamaranean, to the point that his eyes began to morph into those scarlet irises once more. He was beginning to remember who this Tamaranean was now.

<Kori'Andr...> Kakumei greeted dryly.
