47: Attack

It was probably because they had sensed the smell of blood and flesh from Wade's group, but the deathly still forest suddenly seemed to come to life.

Consciously, or unconsciously, all those demonic plants started wriggling their bodies, branches, and roots slowly moving toward the stony trail.

Wade pretended he didn't see the movements of these demon plants. He wasn't actually worried about them right now.

No matter how crazy or brutal they were, they didn't dare to move onto them since they had the Academy's mark on them, as if there were something on this road that they feared.

[Beep! Recording and storing into the archives all the magic plants in the surrounding area!]

[Initial data sufficient! root database was complete and able to match the species! activating elemental vision, reconstructing database!]

Following with a bunch of warning tones from Abby, the image projecting on his retina started swaying, then it straightened out as a vast amount of data began pouring down like a waterfall in front of his eyes.

At the same time, every single object in his sight was highlighted with different coloured lights.

The plants were highlighted with a green coloured light, indicated these plant demons contained a lot of Elemental energy that was, unsurprisingly, often found in natural plants.

Other colours like red, yellow, blue, and purple, indicated the areas where their respective energy was gathered.

Besides these, the ever-changing humidity, temperature, wind speed, thickness of poison particles, distribution of elementary particles and their circulation… all the data which Abby could detect was projected onto his eyes in a colourful dynamic graph.

But it was just too much data, Wade frowned.

This colourful and over-complicated retinal projection had seriously affected his normal vision. This was too much information.

"Remove useless colours… remove diffused highlights… only focus retina vision on the most common energy ranges…" Wade commanded

After Wade gave out his commands, one after another, finally the glaring, colourful orb dimmed down bit by bit, and all the items in his vision had once again resumed their normal colours.

The thick and pale misty fog had now turned into countless lumps, threads, and sheets of slow-moving water elemental particles.

They were constrained by a mysterious force, and couldn't spread out, but were forced to cover this magic forest. month after month, year after year.

"Raw...Raw.."

Together with few piercing roars, a small group of three Ghouls could be seen at a distance in and stopped, moving their blood-red eyes and staring at their group.

Honestly speaking, being stared at by a group of ominous demons like this made Wade feel incredibly uncomfortable.

Faced with this group of dangerous Ghouls, Wade didn't dare be the slightest bit careless.

Although Ghouls were not considered to be strong demon beasts, they had quite a lot of strength and could tear a person in two if gotten hold, and they had poison in their bite and hands, there had been some frightful incidents in which Apprentice had their body parts ripped or corroded by these Ghouls.

Seeing that their target Ghouls were in their view Sam gave the signal to attack, Wade raised his right arm and softly intoned the spell that he had memorized.

After a few seconds of spellcasting, a large red magic fireball appeared in Wade's hand, twisting violently.

This was his Fireball spell!

After testing it in the Academy, this was the first time this spell Wade was able to use.

With Wade's current ability, he could barely throw the flame out to 10 meters. That was his limit. Therefore, it could, currently, be considered a close-range spell.

The violently burning magic flame brightened the surrounding forest. The powerful ripples generated by the fire element had finally made these Ghouls realize that this human in front of them was not something they could easily capture.

As for those demons who were slowly gathering around Sam. He suddenly chanted and two wind blades appeared beside him, it seemed like they were struck with a great terror, and all of them quickly fled away from the sides of the trail in a great panic.

Seeing this the group sighed in relief and concentrated on the Ghouls again. The group of Ghouls were letting out loud roars as they rushed toward them, one of them seemed to have marked Wade as his target and was heading towards him.

He waited for the Ghoul to be at the perfect position calculated according to Abby. As soon as the Ghoul was where he wanted it to be he threw the fireball aimed at his body.

Within a second, the fireball flew through the air and hit the Ghoul right in the middle of its chest and had it fly and hit the Ghoul that was running behind it.

Jill and Freya were the ones on whom the Ghoul was going to attack, seeing that their load had been just reduced by a lot by Wade they showed him a gratified expression and started their attack.

The third Ghoul was being taken care of by Karon as Sam was by his side to see to it that he doesn't get hurt while attacking in between.

As for the first Ghoul it was already charred black and was as dead as it could be, while looking at the battle situation he could see that it was under control.

He looked at the map shown by Abby and could see that the area was quite clear so he continued with his data collection.

"Record everything you can about these demons!" Wade said calmly.

[Beep! Recording completed! Host, please name the creatures in the order they are presented.]

Images of creatures appeared in front of his eyes. Even though he had some data recorded from the library, a thorough life recording was much better.

"Killer Trees… Bloodsucking Vines… Ghouls…" Wade started.

[Naming completed! New information has been recorded in the database.]
