33: Information gathering

"I'll take this one then! How many Magic Crystals?" Wade said as this was the only one among them which was the least used.

"Two pieces!" The fatty replied.

"Do you have any elementary potion formulas?" Wade asked again.

"Yes! I have formulas for Energy Potions, Vitality Potions, and Anti-Bug Potions, which one do you want?"

"The Energy Potion! Give me a set of ingredients as well!" These were all elementary potion formulas he had heard of before, so Wade simply picked one he thought was easier.

The fatty took out a green coloured box from a shelf behind him and placed it on the table.

"One set of ingredients, enough for ten tries, one Magic Crystal!"

He also took out a sheet of parchment from under the sales counter, it seemed to be extremely old.

"One copy of the Energy Potion formula, one Magic Crystal!"

Wade opened the green coloured box, Inside it were ten green-coloured fruits arranged neatly, which seemed to have traces of blue cracks on their surface, and beside them was a root of some red plant, and a bottle of grey powder.

Putting the box away and picking up the faint yellowish parchment paper, he saw a formula written in black ink, which even included the areas to note.

Nodding he said to the fatty.

" Pack it up for me!" Wade handed the four Magic Crystals over to the fatty. Fatty received them, and packaged the set before handing it over to Wade.

Wase nodded his head and tucked the parchment paper into his robes. He took the box then left the hut without turning back.

He only had 7 Magic Crystals and had spent about half of them on this small amount of ingredients. This terrifying expenditure for potion brewing was not something the average apprentice could carry.

What followed next was Wade's daily routine that had taken a similar route to how he had been in his previous world during his student years.

Every day, he was shuttling to and fro between five places: the dorm, the dining hall, the Academic Area, the experiment lab and the library. Another month passed unknowingly.

[The gathering of data has been completed!] Abby's voice sounded.

Sitting on one side of a long table in the library, Wade closed the book he was holding in his hands.

Apart from attending classes and aiding his mentor with his experiments, the majority of his time was spent in the library.

Almost every book that could be read for free was browsed through, and with this had Abby finished accumulating more data.

"Haaaaa...I have finally understood the formulation of potions!" Wade breathed out loudly.

Although Kroft had provided some elementary information about Potioneering, there were many things that he still did not understand.

He learnt things like the terminology and vocabulary by himself in the library. If he wanted a professor's explanation he would have had to pay a fee in the form of magic crystals but as he was short on them he made do with what he had.

Many apprentice's who were short of Magic Crystals did the same thing, browsing through the variety of free information in the library was one of the freeways of gaining knowledge other than what their mentor provided.

However, they did not have the help of Abby, so they usually needed a month or so to find what they wanted in the library.

As far as Wade was concerned, he had now recorded all the information that was available to him in the library already. He even made a search function for it, so the information would be at his fingertips if he met with any questions in the future.

However, even Elementary Potion making was considered higher-tiered information. Even with the constant analyses from Abby, Wade only knew about half of it, but that was already extremely useful to him.

At least now, when he looked back upon the basics of Potioneering, it was like looking down at some middle school knowledge.

As for the elementary potion brewing and the Energy Potion formula, they had been fully analysed, so it was time to put them into practice.

"My assembly of knowledge is already enough, I'll begin brewing the Energy Potion today!"

Wade placed the books back on the shelves and left the library, while he was going out he looked around. The library had many apprentices and yet they were all well behaved and extremely quiet. It was very suitable for reading, and one of Wade's favourite spots.

"Hey! Wade!" when he walked out of the library, an apprentice greeted him. Wade raised his head, "Sam!"

He saw Sam coming to him with the company of a brunette haired girl. He was on good terms with him as he had helped him with learning quite a bit of common knowledge as well as he had reminded him that he had still saved a spot for him in his team so he had a good impression of the guy.

"Congratulations on becoming a Rank 1 Apprentice!" when Sam came near he could feel the energy fluctuations around Wade.

He was quite pleased with this discovery as this proved that in a half years time Wade would be able to help him. This made all the investment of time he had done in answering him were well spent.

"We had taken up a few missions recently so I was out and didn't know the good news," Sam said.

"Thank you, congratulations to you too!" Wade replied with a smile, he could see that whatever the mission might have been it was a success as from Abby's scan he could tell that both Sam and the girl we're happy.

" Hahaha!! does it show that much on my face? Well, what can I say, this times mission was quite rewarding in itself. But now that it is over the rewards given by the academy are not that small.

With this reward and my previous accumulation, I should be able to further enhance my knowledge and maybe even break through to the fourth rank." Sam said.

He was quite happy with the results of this mission. Even though the mission was quite hard, nobody in his team died and during the mission by luck, they had found some ingredients that could be sold for a good amount of magic crystals. Of course, they were happy.
