Malik couldn't possibly be leaving, Safiya gasped, staggered backwards, but luckily Amara was just in time to hold her before he fell.
"Maybe you should go talk to him, try to tell him something that could trigger his memory," Amara whispered. There was no way they could let Malik go. If he left Dakar, it would be impossible to get him back, and that meant his memories would be forever forgotten.
Safiya nodded. She wouldn't let him slip away. Besides, he was not well; he needed them. Right now wasn't the crucial time to go back to Azu...
She took a few breaths, calming her racing heart. Now that she had come to love him, and him loving her, she would not make any mistake in letting the one she loved slip away. She wouldn't lose him.
Safiya took slow steps towards him. Salam was the first to see her; his eyes widened. Safiya placed her hand on her lips, causing Salam to give her a nod before walking away.
