Chapter 1a: The prophecy

"When rearing through blood stained paths and shackling chains of regret, the death of the 2 great demonic sins come forth. Bearing energy greater than the celestial bodies, the death of all things embodying deadly sins will grant the hero a great wish.

"WOW! Grandma Dilie, were you old enough to see the battle!" A pale young boy who looked roughly around 10 years old gleamed starry eyes of interest.

"Haha, do I look that old? Unfortunately for you I wasn't, Jaydon" Dilie replied, ruffling the auburn hair of the innocent boy before facing the other children in the wooden orphanage. Approximately 20 children were gathered around sitting next to each other, forming a circle with Dilie in the middle of the spacious living room.

"Alright kids, storytime is finished now, scatter along." The old woman gestured her frail  hands to jokingly shoo all the kids away, whether they went to their beds, or continued to play in the living room. It didn't really bother her as long as she had her beauty rest till midnight.

The orphanage is colossal in comparison to the number of children residing inside. The large living room can fit about 100 adults across the exhausted planks and tattered kitchen filled with fond. On the right of the living room connected a weary arched doorway, leading towards the dorms and extra rooms filled with desks, chairs and toys. While on the opposite side, rested a grainy door that stood tall potentially leading to the open world.

The children scattered around, with some staying back and forming smaller groups, to discuss the urban legend and excitement of a wish. However, others 'freed' themselves from Dilie's boring story which shackled their legs crossed, by prancing around in their respective dorms. In contrast Jadon stayed behind, in hopes to hear conversations of other children providing more insight to the urban legend. But unfortunately, Jadon only heard disturbing rumours of their inevitable outcomes as humans, death. However, roughly inside of his peripheral vision his eyes fabricated a colourless figure strolling towards Jadon's direction.

"Yo Jadon, let's play goldfish! I'm so BORED." A boy who looked about similar age wearing an olive skin tone and black messy hair yawned. His clothes consisted of a tunic from the mediaeval era, baggy pants and shabby shoes.

"Hm, give me time to think Evan, I told M-"  Glancing around, both Jadon and Evan heard deafening stomps that sadly foreshadowed trouble.

"JADON IS GOING TO PLAY CARDS WITH US!" A girl and boy duo of relative age shouted, waving cards in their hands. Their eyes filled with hues of deep lavender and light gold respectively, which threatened to strangle Jadon and Evan.

"Shut up M-I-T-A why are YOU so loud? Also what's up, Dunk." Talking first to stop their rambling, Evan then waved at the duo as they continued to casually stroll predominantly towards Jadon's direction.

Similar to the rest, Mita and Dunk were also the same age, 10. Mita, the female, although a lot shorter than the rest, wore gloomy indigo hair tied in a long ponytail  in contrast to Dunk's lustrous, short, gold hair who claimed to be the tallest out of the group.

"HEY, I'm not that loud!" Mita pouted and peered at her fraternal twin Dunk, as she soon stopped waving and gradually slid the deck of cards into her pocket.

"What's up, Evan! Although Mita, you are kinda abit.." Dunk glanced beside and saw a glimpse of a potential demon that would wreak havoc. With his critical thinking skills, Dunk opted out for the best option.

"Actually you're not really that loud Mita." Dunk regretfully murmured as he grudgingly gave into Mita's antics. Dunk then turned to face Jadon and Evan seeing sighs brimmed with disappointment emanating from their faces.
