Growl!

While Blake was still reeling from the impact of the earlier collision, a deep growl suddenly drifted into his ears, instantly jolting him back to reality.

His eyes widened in shock, and his eyes cleared almost immediately.

He shook his head slightly, hoping to clear the little grogginess that that remained in his head.

As he opened his eyes, the first thing that appeared in his line of sight were two large palms, each with a set of long, bony fingers that were slowly closing in on him.

Behind the pair of bony arms, he could make out the figure of a slender zombie with drool leaking from the sides of its mouth.

Blake eyes widened in horror, and the images of what led to his present situation fully replayed in his mind.

'Damn zombie!' He thought in frustration, with a deep frown on his face. Even now, he could still felt a sharp stinging pain from his back and he was sure he had sustained a bruise from the collision.

He couldn't believe he almost lost consciousness from just one attack from the zombie.

Just thinking about it, made him feel ashamed at himself. 'How pathetic…' He mumbled inwardly.

However, he currently had bigger issues to worry about now, the major one being the bony hands that were slowly reaching for him.

He knew better than anyone that letting those zombie claws make even a scratch on him could be disastrous, as that would practically mean the end for him.

He hurriedly tried to move away from the wall, in a bid to avoid the claws of the zombie, however, his face froze in horror when he realized that he couldn't even move his body.

'No… come on…' Blake thought, as the frown on his face deepened. He tried to roll away once more, or at least, move his torso even if it was just a little bit, but his body remained stiff.

Except from his head and his fingers, he couldn't move any other parts of his body.

It seemed like his spinal cord had taken a critical hit when he crashed into the building, his body was frozen.

'This can't be it… this can't be it for me. I can't die here… I won't die here!' Blake gritted his teeth in frustration, as he watched the zombie's claws get even closer to him.

The only good thing about his present situation, was that the zombie's movements were very slow. If not, then he would have been dead a long time ago.

Though with great difficulty, he slightly raised one of his fingers from the ground, making sure it pointed towards the zombie.

'Lightning Ball!' He exclaimed inwardly, swiftly activating his one and only skill.

Immediately, blue sparks of lightning appeared around that finger, before rapidly forming into a small ball of lightning.

The bright blue light from the ball briefly illuminated the room, before it suddenly shot towards the head of the zombie at astonishing speed.

Crackle!

Blitz!!

Lightning crackled violently around the bright blue ball, as it flew through the air, leaving a slight trail of lightning.

Within seconds, the ball closed in on the head of the zombie, instantly exploding into bright blue sparks of lightning.

Growl!

The zombie growled in annoyance as the impact from the explosion jerked its bony head backwards.

Its body staggered backwards, and its long, thin arms moved further away from Blake.

However, despite landing an attack on the zombie, Blake's predicament didn't get any better as his upper body was still paralyzed.

Beads of sweat pooled around his forehead, and he gnashed his teeth in frustration.

The tall, thin zombie let out a low, deep growl, as it steadied its feet back on the ground.

Apart from the small, charred mark on its forehead, it didn't seem like it received any damage from Blake's attack. In fact, all the lightning ball managed to go was infuriate the zombie.

Growl!!

The bony creature snarled angrily at Blake in anger, before cracking its head to the side. Thin veins bulged around its eyes, and its hollow, bony torso contracted with an unsettling rhythm, creating an eerie sight of its skeletal frame and thin bulging veins.

Roar!

The zombie emitted a deep, drawn-out roar that resonated in the desolate building.

It slowly pulled one of its long arms backwards, its absurdly large hand knocking down a few rubbles in the process.

With a low growl, it suddenly swung the bony limb towards Blake, hoping to swat him away once more.

Blake could only bite his lips in helplessness as he stared at the large palm rapidly closing in on him.

His body was still paralysed, and there was no way he could escape the attack. However, despite his situation, he didn't close his eyes, even as the large palm shadowed over him.

'Is this… the end?' He mumbled inwardly, while gritting his teeth in frustration. 'I'm sorry mum… dad… it seems like I'll be joining you sooner than I expected.'

WHOOSH—!!

In that crucial moment when the zombie's palm was about to hit Blake, a thin arrow made purely of radiant, white light suddenly streaked in from the side at immense speed, before piercing straight into the forehead of the zombie.

Growlll!!!

The zombie growled loudly in frustration, as greenish black blood spurted out from its head.

Its bony body staggered backwards, and its long arms dangled weakly at the sides. It seemed like it could fall to the ground with how unsteady its movements were, but it was somehow able to maintain its footing.

Blake's eyes widened in shock when he saw the radiant arrow that pierced through the zombie's head, saving his life.

His head sharply turned to the direction the arrow came from, and his gaze met that of a beautiful girl with golden hair and sky-blue eyes, standing behind the rubble with one of her hands stretched out.

'Yeah! Aria! I completely forgot I'm here with Aria!' Blake thought, while exhaling in relief.

A deep frown appeared on Aria's face as she stared at Blake, whose was seriously injured.

'All this could have been avoided…' She thought in regret, while sighing.

Roar!

The zombie roared loudly in anger, before snapping its head towards Aria. Veins bulged around its eyes, and its torso contracted even faster, further revealing the disgusting frame of its thin veins and skeleton.

While it didn't feel any pain from the attack, it was still infuriated by the bright arrow that unexpectedly lodged itself into its head.

Growl!

It snarled angrily, before suddenly lunging towards the golden haired girl standing behind it.
