Dangerous Elysium || Chapter Two
Aiden enjoys watching the woman. She looked like she would jump and rip him off in any minute. He didn't even notice if she had blinked since he brought her home. She looked at him as if she could peel him alive through her intense gaze.
He didn't expect to see the woman again. And if he didn't pull off in a gas station, he didn't know what would happen to her after being hold-up and met a dog as she said. At first, he wasn't convinced on not until he saw her worn out dress and the bruises on her knee.
Raising the other corner of his lips, he simply glanced at the woman sitting at the rattan chair outside. He can clearly see her because the walls of his rest house were made of glass.
The woman has a small but pointed nose, her lips seems inviting him, her reddened cheek matches her complexion. He suddenly dismissed his thoughts. This is not possible. He couldn't let another girl enter his damn life. He's supposed to focus on his work not on someone he barely knew.
But his eyes focused again on the outside when the woman moved. He swallowed up when she stood up and raised her eyebrow on him. What shocked him the most is when she moved her hand on her neck and gestured to kill him. He silently cursed and bit his lips to stop himself from smiling. Of course, the woman fascinates him.
The woman looks really weird yet fascinating. He mistaken her for a prostitute because of her dress. He did not immediately notice that she was the woman who answered him at the hospital.
He lifted the coffee mug he was holding as if offering it to her. He almost sees smoke coming from her nose. She looked more annoyed and threw up an invisible whatever things it. He just winked and sipped his coffee.
Damn this woman! He feels whipped whenever he look at her.

Aiden came out of his room to drink. The house was filled with darkness but he didn't bother to turn on the lights. He was used to his house.
He was about to return when he suddenly heard a sound behind him. He almost jumped when he saw the woman crawling on the floor with a white blanket on her body. She looks like a ghost because of the long hair covering her face.
He forgot that he let her sleep in his house because there was no taxi in the middle of the night and he could not drive her home because he was also tired. He looked at her again. She looked hurt so he quickly approached her.
"Hey, what's wrong?" he asked. He even shook her. But she keeps on murmuring something. He tried to understand her but her voice was too low.
"Are you sick? Are you hurt or what?" He still asked consecutive questions. He did not hesitate and picked her up. He placed her on his bed.
He took the stethoscope. "Your heartbeat is normal, so what's wrong?" He was about to put the stethoscope again when he noticed her gesturing to him to lean closer.
"Stomach ache. I—I need a . . . Bring me to the bathroom."
He was stunned, of course. He thought she's suffering from a serious disease but it was only a stomach ache. He palmed his face and took a deep sigh. "You're really something. Jesus Christ, woman! I almost panicked."
The woman just hummed and twisted her body again. It was his cue to pick her up and went to the bathroom. "Call me if you need anything, okay?"
She just nodded.
Aiden questioned himself. Really, Aiden? You panicked because of her having a serious illness? You never do that in front of your patient. You act cool and calm.
***
"You can't go anywhere until I say so. I want you to be here until I come home, is that clear?"
It was early morning when he heard a shuffling sound outside his room. He saw the woman that until now I didn't know the name, roaming around the living room. He shook his head when he imagined his every day seeing the woman in his house, cooking for him, doing the household and welcoming him back after work. He went back to his room to fix himself to get ready to work. When he made it to the living room after, he saw the woman sitting on the sofa, drinking coffee.
Really?
"Why should I do that? I barely know you, what if you just want to murder me or something? Nope…" She shook her head then snapped her fingers in front of him. "I'll go right now. You can't stop me."
He smirked. Of course, he can stop her. "Where did you get money to go home?"
She stood up abruptly and pointed a finger on him. "What?! I didn't steal any money from you!"
He let out a chuckle. "I mean, you have nothing with you. How will you go home?"
The woman sucked her breath. "Jeez! I forgot. But still you can't make me stay here! I really need to go."
"After I came back to work. And that's final."
"Please, send me home!"
"You don't have any choices. There are a lot of stocks out there. I'll just send someone here for your clothes."
He stood up but did not expect her action.. She grabbed his hand that made him out of balance and fell on the chair with her on top of him. And what even shocked him more is that she hit his chest. He was moaning in pain. Because she was on top of him, he could not move, she might fall to the floor. He tried to stop her. The only way he could think of was to embrace her waist and change their position. He was now on top of her.
"Try to hit me again, I'll really kiss you!" he snarled. She stopped beating. She just stared at him.
Both of them were enchanted on their own bubbles. Until Aiden spoke first, "You're beautiful…" He saw the woman gasped.
And he didn't know that making fun of her would make him happy. "In the distance, I hope you're always far away."
"You jerk!"
He felt dizzy when she hit his forehead on her own. Damn! His head is shaking.
He sank as he sat on the chair. He looked at the clock. He's late at work!
Damn! That's not what he was worried about. It's the woman beside him. He felt a murderous presence beside him. He looked at her and she's looking also— with her sharp, murderous eyes.
***
Kaegan laughed out loud. Every time he looked at Aiden he would burst out laughing. The small circle on his forehead was obvious and it was purple. So he's massaging it with ice. That woman is very amazon. Not on her appearance though. Looks can be deceiving, really. Until now, his forehead still aches.
Aiden is in the office with his best friend Kaegan and Callum. Callum is an officer and Kaegan owns a bar. Unlike him, the two had serious work too but they seemed happy. Not that he wasn't happy about his work, but he's too stressed.
"I really like that woman! Seriously, she did that? I salute her," Sullivan said. Annoyed, he kicked him. That woman really has guts to fight back.
"What are you even doing here, Callum? Does my office look like a headquarters?" Though he knew that he just got out from his duty and came right after to his office. That's his hobby.
"It's fun coming here. Many nurses want to see me," said his friend with a smile. He glared at him. Of course, Callum is really a chick magnet unlike him and Kaegan.
"Oops! Just kidding, man. Kaegan invited us to his daughter's birthday party. I wouldn't miss it because there might have beautiful ladies," he said.
"Idiot! It's a kid's party. Why would there be beautiful ladies?" Kaegan punched his arms. "Don't miss my little Amy's birthday. She'll be 7 years old."
That is what he likes in his bestfriends. Even though they are equally busy they still have time together. Even when he's in America, they still managed to call each other.
"But let's get back to the conversation. Why is that woman so angry with you? I thought you let her sleep in your house?"
Aiden also thought that. His friend was right, he had already helped the woman but she was still very upset with him. Probably because of what happened at the hospital.
***
"There is bleeding in the patient's artery." Aiden commented before starting the operation.
"Control his blood pressure. We cannot waste any seconds on this surgery. Okay, position." He first adjusted the monitor to the anesthesiologist. Everyone is ready for the operation.
"Scalpel."
At first it was very difficult for him and his team to find out where the bleeding was coming from. He concentrates feeling the pulse on his hands. He smiled when he found the source.
"Suction." He seems to have gained the confidence of his team. They smiled at him.
"Vital signs?" His First Assistant asked.
"His vital signs are good. Continue," the anesthesiologist replied.
"Okay good. Forcep."
After all, the operation was successful.
After Aiden left the OR, he was greeted by fellow doctors. They are all smiling and greeting him. As if it was his first time doing an operation.
"You're really the best, Dr. Collin." He greeted them individually.
It's not been long enough for him at his fathers hospital but many believe in his will as a doctor. They always praised him, he didn't know if that's only when they're in front of him. He then remembered the girl in his house, she was the only one who had no hesitation in speaking back to him. Because of that a small smile formed on his lips. Those in front of him seemed surprised at what he had done. He immediately withdrew his smile and went straight to the locker.
"Dr. Collin! Dr. Collin!"
He quickly put his clothes on. The lockers rattled as someone leaned forward and his assistant gasped after she stopped right beside him.
"What are you doing?"
"There's someone outside your office. She doesn't want to leave until you talk to her. You need to hurry; she might cause trouble ---"
Aiden did not wait for anything else to say. He hurried to his office. Some nurses were outside and forcing a woman to leave. He first looked at the woman's leg up to her dress. Torn hem of dress. Only then did he know who she was. He approached them. The nurses stopped even the woman who was trying to enter his office.
"You all may go." He commanded the nurses. They nodded before leaving but curiosity was visible on their faces.
Instead of irritation, amusement took over him when she saw her looks. He put his hands either on his waist and act mad. With her little figure, he's towering her now. But what surprised him is that the woman stared back. There was a feeling of slight sensation in his chest. He could not understand himself when he stared into her eyes.
"How did you get here?" His mouth was slightly wide open. He wondered how the hell this woman came here if she has nothing at all. Did she walked up to here?
"Wanna know the answer? Well, get out of this hospital and pay for the taxi outside!" she exclaimed. Some passersby noticed her but she didn't care. She stood there, scolding him like the boss.
He quickly grabbed the woman by her arm and took her out. She's fucking right, there was a taxi waiting outside. Fortunately, he had some money in his pants pocket.
"Oh Sir, I thought this young woman was just fooling me. She just walked out of my car and told me to wait for his doctor husband for the fare. But all right, thank you," said the taxi driver.
Aiden raised an eyebrow as he faced the woman again. "When the hell did I become her husband?"
She averted her gaze from him. Because of their large height gap, he bowed slightly and their faces aligned. She kept looking on her left side. He raised his hand and touched the woman's chin to turn towards him.
"When you really want to, you can do something . . ." he said. " My wife," he added. He smiled when both her cheeks turned red. It was even redder than her cheeks' natural colour.
"Tch! I just did that because I'm already itching with my dress. You said you would send clothes but my hair already became white and they're not still there. But since I got here, I can go home," she explained angrily.
"Besides!" She violently wiped his hand away.
Cute.
"I'm leaving!"
He was about to speak but she left quickly. Aiden found himself laughing with her gesture. Amusement was written all over his face. That woman was in trouble, really. She knew she had no money but she still managed to walk out on him. Surely, she will chase him again. He turned away. He counted one to three, and ting!
"Aiden Collin! I had no money! You jerk, why didn't you remind me?" She exclaimed as if she wanted to run in because of embarrassment. There were a lot of people outside and the woman's very loud shout could be heard.
He didn't care. As if he would give her money. Nope, he's still the cold person he used to be.
***
Nimueh's grin almost reached her ears. After doing some teary-eyes acting in front of the hospital, she had five thousand in a flash. With the doctor's money, she jumped around and waited for a taxi to take her home.
"Nimueh, good to know you have arrived. The postman left an envelope with me earlier. Wait a minute and I'll bring it to you," Lea immediately called her. She is the landlady's daughter in the apartment she is staying in. She waited outside first and after a while Lea came out holding a brown envelope.
"Thanks, I'm coming in," she said.
