The wrath of a son

"Y-you're sure? You'll really be the bait?" "Yes, but after this whole thing is over, I don't want to ever come in contact with the police. Period." "May I ask why?" "Do you need to!? Look at what happened to my mother because of the police officer you assigned to protect her!" "W-what do you mean?" "Slow to the rescue and slow to the scene I guess. Check your radio and ask the Nagano police about the most recent crime. You'll get your answer."

Izuku was told to wait as the detective put him on hold and checked the radio.

Izuku had let Inu come downstairs and sit in his lap as he waited for the detective to take him off of hold.

"I swear Inu, police these days never want to take responsibility for their mistakes. It's always 'Well if it weren't for this and that.' or 'Oh if you did this sooner.' but they never want to be held accountable." *Bark* "I envy how carefree you get to be Inu, you only have to worry about eating, sleeping, and using the bathroom. You're like a little baby… My little baby of course!"

Inu barked and licked Izuku's face gently before the call was taken off hold. The detective sighed and said:

"Izuku, I'm sorry. I didn't mean for this to happen." "No one means for anything bad to happen, yet it happens anyways. There's nothing you can do to change that now. Just know I don't forgive you, and don't ask why because I saw you scolding him for whatever you thought happened in the bathroom the day I met him. So you knew what he was like, yet you still assigned him." "I-I swear I didn't know he would do that." "But you knew he had bad behavior in the past?" "Well yes, but-" "No buts then. You knew he had bad behavior and you assigned him anyway, end of story. Can we continue or not?" "Yes, Mr. midoriya. We plan to put the plan into motion as soon as tomorrow. We've gotten information in the past that everytime he's raped 10 people he goes back to Hitachi, japan. But now anytime he comes back for you he immediately goes back to Hitachi. It's as if he has something there that's so important." "And what do you think it might be?" "Maybe an altar for someone he loves dearly. Who the altar is made for, we don't know." "Ok, what about a motive? Why would he come after me?" "We're not entirely sure, some of us just think that it's because he has some kind of grudge against you. But other than that we can't come up with a reason." "Do you at least have any suspects?" "No. Somehow he's managed to erase any trace of him even being there. From every single crime scene all we found was a strand or two of bluish-gray hair. But that doesn't narrow down anything."

Izuku stopped to think for a moment.

"What about the case with my friend Kirishima? You can get access to records like that from Nagano can't you?" "I can, but why?" "I found the pictures you told me about… one of them had Kirishima."

Izuku heard the confusion in the detective's voice as he thought.

"I'll get back to you on that Izuku, try to get some sleep in, ok? I'll take you to the police station tomorrow." "I'll try."

Izuku hung up the phone and got in the shower. As he dried himself off he wondered if he had really made the right decision, for all he knew the police couldn't be trusted either. But it was his only hope of getting revenge for his mother. He climbed into his bed and stared up at the ceiling as he thought out loud.

"I wonder if there's a connection between what's happening to me and Kirishima's case…"

Inu whimpered quietly in an attempt for Izuku to give him attention. Izuku turned towards Inu and pet him gently and lovingly, but even though Izuku smiled at Inu as if nothing had happened to him that day, inside he felt like shit. He felt angry, but he felt sad all the same. His life was stressful enough. And just what did that rapist mean 'It breaks my heart a little more'? Izuku hadn't thought about it at that moment, but he realized that something was off about that statement. He figured that he'd talk about it to the detective tomorrow while he was in the office with him. Izuku called ochaco and told her to tell Monoma that he had to take the day off tomorrow for his mother's funeral. Which wasn't a complete lie, he did need to plan for his mom's funeral. He wondered to himself for a moment whether he was really making the right choice in this, was taking revenge for his mother really the best choice in this situation? Izuku almost second guessed himself, but he was already knee deep in this whether he liked it or not. He started it, and now Izuku needed to finish it. That night he didn't have a dream with Kirishima, he instead had a nightmare with the garish image of his mother reaching out for him, but he couldn't move one inch. She was screaming silently reaching for Izuku, but her screaming suddenly became louder as she was jerked into the abyss. It was that disturbingly audible scream that stuck in the back of Izuku's mind even as he woke up from the horrifying nightmare in a cold sweat. It was only 5:29 in the morning, but the doorbell rang from downstairs. Izuku walked cautiously to the door, with a bat and his camera in hand. He walked up to the door cautiously and responded.

"W-who's there?" "Just me, Detective Keigo. I'm here to pick you up."

Izuku was a bit baffled, it was only 5:32 am now. He was awfully early, even if he was a detective.

"You're really early don't ya think?" "I'd rather be too early than too late." "I don't think you can say that after letting that irresponsible officer 'take care of' my mom only for her to be raped and killed by them rapists." "Now, now Izuku, just open the door…"

Izuku couldn't believe how ignorant and aloof the detective was just now. He rushed and opened the door but it wasn't the detective he found standing outside. No, it was none other than that man, the same one who had hurt so many, killed so many. But, that wasn't what frightened Izuku the most, It was the tape recorder in his hands that made him ask:

"W-where's detective Keigo…"

The man only laughed as he advanced from the door to the inside of the house. Izuku slowly backed away from the door, nearly forgetting he had the bat and camera in his hands. He thought of swinging the bat but discarded the idea immediately because the man would just block the attack. As Izuku got closer to the steps, he started to think of ways to keep the man occupied so he had enough time to run up stairs and grab inu. Suddenly he stumbled on the bottom step and fell onto the stairs, forcing him to look at the man who was approaching him quicker than he liked or wanted. Izuku looked at the camera in his left hand and he decided the risk was worth it, even if it didn't work completely. Izuku held up the camera at the man with the flash on and said:

"Smile, bitch."

The rapist shouted as he was blinded temporarily by the bright flash on the camera. Izuku silently thanked Kirishima and ran upstairs as quickly as possible. By the time he made it up the stairs the man had already started to hike up the stairs, still not fully able to see correctly. Izuku ran into the bathroom that connected to his room and turned on the shower to distract the man as he ran into the room. All the commotion had woken up Inu as he started to bark.

"Inu, I need you to be quiet ok? There is an intruder in the house, and I need you to be very silent ok?"

Inu simply jumped off of the bed and hid under it with his paws sticking out still, but the room was too dark to see them. Izuku heard the man walk into the bathroom so he hid in the nearby closet as the man walked into the room, wet and livid.

"Izuku~ I know you're in here~"

Izuku fought back a gasp as his breathing got more shaky. He tightened his grip on the wooden bat that he still had in his hand as he looked at the rapist from the crack in the closet.

"Come on out little bunny~ I won't bite unless you make me mad~" *BARK*

The man had looked over to the bed where Inu lay hidden. He chuckled quietly and pulled out a smooth black pistol pointing it straight at the dog's paws, he looked around the room and said:

"I suggest you come out of your hiding place Izuku Midoriya, or else this little mutt will join poor little Kenzo…" "No! Don't please!"

Izuku had already emerged from the closet and was crying as he stood looking at where the man stood. The rapist had chuckled and started walking towards Izuku as he said:

"You always were the most obedient out of them all Izuku~ The red haired one I had before you was always fighting and talking about the right thing to do…"

Izuku started to feel his blood boil slowly as he talked more and more about Kirishima and him, and all the other people he traumatized and caressed his cheek with his hand.

"I have a secret to tell you Izuku~"

He leaned down to Izuku's ear and said to him:

"I took the picture when Kirishima finally listened to my advice, and hung himself."

Izuku didn't wait another second before gripping the bat and hitting him so hard he should've had a concussion. Izuku dropped the bat and screamed:

"Come on Inu! Let's go!"

Inu scrambled from under the bed and ran next to Izuku, but the rapist had grabbed Izuku's ankle and made Izuku fall flat on his face. Inu saw this as a threat finally and bit the man's arm. He screamed out in pain as Inu bit down harder on the man's wrist forcing him to let go. Immediately Izuku got up and started running towards the door of his room until he heard the sound of a gun go off. He looked behind him and saw Inu on the floor whimpering softly but luckily still alive, and the man aiming again to get another shot. Izuku quickly scooped Inu off of the floor and took off as the rapist slowly got up. Izuku ran downstairs grabbing his car keys and house keys and leaving the house with the door wide open and got into the car. He placed Inu in the passenger seat and started the car. He was about to drive off but suddenly he heard a hand slam onto his car. He looked up and saw the man pressing on the front of his car wet, bleeding, and beyond upset. Izuku didn't really want to, but it was the only way to get Inu to the vet as soon as possible. Izuku took a deep breath, put the car into drive and drove straight into the man. Then he put the car in reverse and sped out of his driveway causing the man outside to fall to the ground. As he drove off thanking whatever god was up there silently; He saw the man in his rear view mirror, his hair was wet, he had a crazy look in his eyes, and he had a cut from the middle of his cheek to his ear. Izuku could almost swear that his hair had a tint of purple in it too, but maybe It was just him seeing things out of fear and panic.

\\\

Izuku walked out of the vet's office with Inu in his arms. Luckily the damage wasn't as bad as Izuku thought so Inu was ok getting a few stitches. Izuku felt ok with telling Koda what happened, or at least what happened that day, Then he told Izuku to give Inu to a friend who could take care of him while Izuku was dealing with this break-in thing. Izuku didn't like the Idea of not being able to take care of Inu, but as long as he was being stalked by that man no one was safe being around Izuku, not even Inu. He decided that he was going to ask Ochaco or Mina, so he went to the hospital to visit them, but when he got there there were paramedics rushing past him with Detective Keigo being hauled inside on a gurney. Izuku started to internally panic. Did that man hear about the plan? What if he had a way to avoid it? What if detective Keigo was dead!? But Izuku's last question was put to rest as the detective quietly said:

"I-Izuku… Izuku… come…"

Izuku ran over to the detective as he was crying.

"Detective! Oh my god, this is all my fault! I'm sorry! Please don't die!" "Izuku, i'm not gonna die…" "It's all my fault! I was careless, and I was stupid!" "Izuku…" "I was such an idiot!" "Izuku you're making a scene…" "I should've never been mean to you, I'm so sorry!" "Izuku!"

Izuku stopped crying and looked at the detective with puffy eyes while the detective looked at him with a blank face.

"I won't die Izuku, I just need immediate medical attention ok? Our wanted guy must've overheard our conversation on the phone. I'm glad I was so vague with what we discussed." "What are we going to do now?" "For now I need to heal, should take me two days tops. I was always a fast healer. Whatever you need to get done in the meantime I suggest you get it done now. This is a dangerous role you're playing, I don't want you to start this with anything unfinished." "Ok, Get well soon detective…"

Izuku watched as the detective was hauled into the E.R. by a doctor and some nurses. Izuku turned to go to the ICU unit but was met by mina's and ochaco's concerned stares in the lobby.

"I-Izuku what did he mean? Why are you consulting with the police?" "It's…complicated."

Izuku walked over to Mina and put Inu in her hands.

"Mina and Ochaco, if you two don't mind, could you guys look after Inu? I have something important to do, and I don't want to put him in danger…"

Mina held Inu lovingly and said:

"Yes, of course. But what are you doing that could possibly put inu's life at risk? Unless…"

Izuku only nodded and thanked Mina and ochaco as he pet Inu for the last time and left the hospital. He called the funeral home in Nagano and booked the funeral for tomorrow, the only step left was to tell everyone she was close to. The first one he had to tell was Mitsuki. She was his mother's best friend, but Izuku didn't know how to tell her; He called Katsuki instead.

"Hey Deku- OWW! Ok damn, I'm sorry mom! Hey Izuku, what's up? Have any news on Aunt Inko yet? Mom's getting anxious…" "Yes Katsuki, but you and your mom aren't going to like what I say next…" "What is it? What happened?" "Mom's… She's… She's not… She died."

Izuku heard Katsuki drop his phone and walk away somewhere. He could hear faint crying as Katsuki's dad picked up his phone again.

"Oh, Hello Izuku! I'm sorry my son dropped the phone so suddenly, It's weird he just started crying out of nowhere." "It's understandable, I just told him something I don't believe myself. But I think I should leave him and aunt Mitsuki alone right now. Also tell them that the funeral is tomorrow at the funeral home in Nagano please." "Ah, I see… So she died…" "Yes…" "I'm sorry for your loss Izuku, I know she meant the world to you…"

Masaru hung up the phone after Izuku thanked him. Izuku got into his car and drove out of the hospital driveway, he then called some of his mother's work friends asking them to attend the funeral. He didn't know who else to call, and he was stressing out. He decided to call Shoto.

"Hello Midoriya, how are you today?" "I'm not the best Todoroki… My mom died recently and I'm holding the funeral tomorrow. I'm really stressed, and it feels like I'm being eaten from the inside." "Oh, Midoriya… I'm sorry for your loss. Mrs. Midoriya was a very nice woman." "Thank you Todoroki." "I heard from Katsuki about the police thing. Are you sure? Helping them is such an important job, and I just want to make sure that you're comfortable with that job." "Actually… things have changed."

Izuku's face suddenly went from a frown to a scowl from remembering what was done to his mother. Shoto's voice went from upset to concerned as he said:

"I-Izuku what do you mean? Like you're not going to do it, because I completely understand if-" "No, Shoto. I'm getting my revenge." "Izuku what do you mean!? What happened!?" "You'll understand Shoto. If you want to come to the funeral tomorrow. Goodbye." "Izuku wait!-"

Izuku had hung up the phone as he pulled into his driveway. He walked into his house filled with spite. Nothing mattered to him anymore, he was fed up and he was ready to do whatever it took.
