Chapter 2

Dahlia sat on her bed. Her actions the previous day still surprised her. She was sure she drank all that blood in the Blood Bank and she felt she did more than just that. Worse, she wanted to bite Lucita. Nothing she seemed to eat from the moment she was discharged from the hospital stayed put in her stomach. She had been throwing up continuously. Fearing the worse she began to surf through the net hoping to see if there was anything said about her symptoms.

"Are you alright?" Lucita asked

She immediately shut the laptop on her thighs

"Yes I'm fine, I just want to stay alone tonight" Dahlia said

"You can go partying or you could even go on a date with Ben" she added

"Oh right, I forgot. See you" Lucita said kissing Dahlia on both cheeks as she ran out of the house

She went back to the laptop and continued her search.

Vampire

She laughed heartily

"Me? Vampire?"

"That doesn't make any sense, I'm just not well 'cause that bastard bit....."

"Oh my God!" She exclaimed getting up from the bed

"That man at the club bit me and I can't find the mark any more" she said touching the spot

"But I can't be a Vampire. It doesn't make any sense 'cause they don't exist" she said

She went back to the laptop and continued her search

Dahlia growled hungrily, she felt she'd die if she didn't have a taste of blood that instant. Like metal drawn to magnet she opened her window and jumped down landing on her feet.

The street was filled with people and she was famished

The Doctors and Nurses in Care Care Hospital sat at a table talking about the dead bodies which kept piling up.

They all thought a serial killer was on the loose. There was no other explanation apart from it. It was like a killer's signature. The bite marks.

But Richard thought otherwise. He still wondered why Dahlia's bite marks healed completely like there was nothing there and why the corpses had the same mark like she had.

"Thank goddness no dead body was brought to our hospital today" Nurse Felicity said

"Yeah right, at least I can eat well without throwing up" Abigail added

Everyone burst into a round of laughter. Richard wasn't taking part in their discussion. He knew that whatever it was that bit Dahlia and was out there killing people would show up soon and it was all confusing, he couldn't place his hand on anything.

"Doctor Richard, are you okay?" Gloria asked

"Yes, yes I'm fine" Richard said snapping out of his thought

"If you'd like we could go out for some coffee" she said trying to flirt with him

"Thanks but I have work to do" Richard said getting up

As he made to walk away the ambulance drove in.

Another dead body

Dahlia walked down her street with her hands in her pocket. The whole street was filled with people. She had read during her research that Vampires could hypnotize their victims pushing them to do as they pleased. She was famished. If she was really a Vampire she was going to have to do something about it but she really needed to have a drink. She saw a woman get down from her car, she raced towards the woman with her fangs and claws already baring.

She grabbed the woman by her neck and pierced her neck with her fangs then began to feed on her hungrily.

Dahlia turned the already weak woman to face her and looked her straight in her eyes

"Um, what do I say? I should have practiced" she groaned

"What did you do to me?" The woman asked dizzily

Dahlia pulled her closer

"Nothing happened here so go home and get some sleep" Dahlia said

The woman nodded and turned around. She got into her car and drove off.

"It worked"

In the woods, two forensics zipped up the body of a dead girl found by some woodcutters.

Detectives were taking pictures of the crime scene.

Of course an ambulance was also there and it took the dead body to the nearest hospital.

The Detectives combed the area trying to find anything useful in solving the case.

"It doesn't look like something an animal would do" Harrison stated looking around

"It sure looks like it" Stephan his collegue said

Harrison pointed to the bite marks

"Look here" Harrison said

"These bite marks on the neck. Just two and nothing more"

"Does an animal do something like this?" he asked

"Well the bite looks like something a fang can do" Stephan defended

"Let me renind you that wolves have fangs" he added

"But they don't hunt down their prey like this" Harrison stressed

"And besides we don't have wolves in Kingston" he said

"Well, they're taking the body to Care Care Hospital so the autopsy would tell us what killed it"

"Your brother works there, right? Richard" Stephan said

Harrison had a bitter expression on his face

"You two aren't talking yet?" Stephan asked

"Shut up and get back to work" Harrison said to him

"Yeah, whatever" Stephan resorted and walked away

He suddenly started walking back with his back turned

He had shock written all over his face.

Fear gripped Harrison when he saw a man with red glowing eyes and fangs and two others standing behind him.

They looked different from normal beings but they were humans or at least they once were.

He pulled out his gun immediately

"Hey man, put your hands where I can see them!" He said

"You mean these hands?" The man asked raising his hands up to show his claws.

In the blink of an eye, Stephan was yanked up in the air by the throat. The man dug into his neck and sucked him dry

"Help me!" Stephan yelled in pain

"What the fuck!" Harrison gasped watching blood gush out of his partner's veins

"That was a good drink" the man said throwing Stephan's limp body to the leaf littered floor

Harrison seeing Stephan lay dead took to his heels

Kill them all! He ordered

Richard wheeled the corpse into the morgue while the Nurses followed him

"More dead bodies?" Nurse Felicity said shocked

"Not dead bodies" Richard corrected

"Just a dead body" he added

"But what killed this one?" she asked

"I don't know yet but I'll find out from this body" he replied

"How?" Nurse Abigail asked

"I'd run a few tests 'cause this one died just like all others" he answered

"Doc Richard, your brother is here" Doctor Ben said

"Get everything I need ready" Richard said to the Nurses and walked out with him

"What do you want now?" He asked

"Those dead bodies, I need to see them" Harrison said pacing about

"Do you have a warrant?" Richard asked

"No I don't. Just let me see the godforsaken corpse!" Harrison yelled

"I'm sorry but this is a Hospital so you'll have to drop your lousy attitude outside the door" Richard said

Harrison grabbed him by the collar and pulled him to himself

"This isn't time to act all professional and superior okay?"

"Something is happening in Kingston. Kingston. big and I plan on finding out what" he said

"What do you mean? Nothing bad happens in Kingston"

"The only bad thing that happened was me placing my brother's hand in cow's excrete!" Richard said

"You think this is funny?"

"I just watched my partner and everyone else at a crime scene get eaten by something or someone" Harrison said

"Eaten? What do you mean eaten?" Richard asked

"Maybe not eaten but they were biting into his neck and there was blood and so I have to check those dead bodies!" He yelled with his hands in his hair

"Calm down" Richard said

The people in the hospital looked on at them

"Did you say bite?" He asked

"Yes, do you know about it?" Harrison asked

"Oh my God" Richard said backing away

"What?"

"Do you know what I'm talking about?" Harrison asked

"Kingston has begotten evil"
