27: A Prodigy!! A New Hope

I wondered why the humanoid mages would decide to use such a tactic and let Earth mages who can fight well be only used for nothing more than back up.

Regardless, I made my way to where the battle was intense and using the same method; the earth mages coming towards me, I will lure them to another side and then use any card to kill them.

Before I knew it, the humanoids numbers were decreasing and I have killed some number of them suddenly I heard a ding and the system notification appeared;

Thinking that's all there is I could see a new row of messages which somewhat made me happy. Seeing that I now has an increase in MP made me delighted; this means I get to cast more complex spells which will aid me in battles.

I was only able to calmly go through these notifications because the battle at my side was been handled by Aripul and some men, with Grayson being the only one who was a bit injured due to helping the mages defend against the dark humanoid mages but yet still his demeanor was calm as the ocean. Very soon all the incoming treats were taken care of leaving us stranded in place. The body of the daiki humanoids were tougher than that of the elementals

Quickly moving to a safer area, the group took some healing portions and quickly we continued our way without wasting much time, and after a long time of walking, we had faced no attack again.

"Their army must have reduced significantly in number with them not knowing. I bet their scouting team have all been killed by us and they are unable to send out more soldiers to weaken us," Aripul blurted our with a giggle as everyone had more or less the same thought, Nate having received the notification that his daily mission has been completed opened his Guest board.

A beautiful young lady was walking down a large dimly lit hallway, her dress and steps exuding royalty, n=but only in her own ways and standards.

This young lady was Maria in her father's castle, walking through the hallway on her way to her room while thinking about a certain someone.

'I wonder when they will be back; I just hope he comes back safe and sound… I… I've missed his touch,' she thought a bit lewdly, reminiscing about the things they both did in her room. Maria hadn't been slacking off nowadays as she had been cultivating gradually and

was now about to make another breakthrough.

Two shadows were flickering in and out of sight, well, not that they could be seen that well anyways. Their gruesome appearance gives them out as humanoids. Maria knew that she was been followed and when Maria was almost at her door to her room, a bladed arm appeared from the shadows, catching her off guard and almost finding its way into her stomach.

Luckily, there was an arm readily in the way to stop it, and another dragging Maria away from the trajectory of a dark spell.

With stunning moves, Josh, Maria's personal bodyguard was able to get rid of the Elemental Humanoid and the Daiki humanoid with else as if they were flies.

Walking towards Maria who was not perturbed, or amazed, he enquired;

"My Lady, are you hurt?"

Maria quickly replied with a frown;

"No, Josh, why did you have to get in my way. I knew what I was doing... and how did you know I was in danger?"

"I didn't, the Marques sent for you, and while looking for you…" he didn't finish as Maria knew what happened.

"Let's go then, I am sorry if I ruined your mood; I now have to inform him that the Humanoids have managed to find their way into the castle," he said while already moving towards the Marques throne room.

Maria hurriedly followed behind him, wondering what would have been important that her father would call for her at this time.

The elite group appeared before two deviating paths and followed one and they soon appeared in a part of the forest which had been cleared.

The space was circular and it seemed to be a camping area for the Humanoids, especially due to the pungent smell coming from the perimeters.

"Everyone," Commander Caldwell called us to gather a few feet away from the encamping site.

"We have arrived at the most crucial point of this mission; there is no turning back now."

Saying this brought a heavy and determined look on some of our faces whilst others seemed not resolved.

"In that camp, there are an unknown number of humanoids, so we have to be prepared and fight for our lives and our kingdom, as soldiers mmthat we are, and we have prepared to lay down our lives for our kingdom."

His motivational speech built up the courage of everyone again, but he still had more things to say as he turned towards Nate.

"You might be the next prodigy of our kingdom, so we will all do our best to protect you and make sure you get out of here alive, but also know that you also play a very important role in this upcoming battle so don't even think of holding back." He said the ending part with a glint of sadness appearing in his eyes.

Thinking about what he said, Nate happened to notice the glint in his eyes while he mentioned that he should use his full power Incase something happens.

Simultaneously, his mind went to when the he had asked him whether he was the one who killed the humanoid from the market square and the quest given to him by the system.

After reading through everything, I finally closed the tabs to open them later, still surprised about the fact that my guess on Commander Caldwell's motive was correct. Then why with the half completion status.

'I have to be wary of this man from now on, else he might be able to find out that I am a reincarnation and I have a system,' I decided.

Putting all thoughts away, I focused on what the Commander was saying, as he was putting down strategies for them to use to infiltrate the enemy camp and get the mission over with.

"You know what? These strategies, I highly doubt they would work, so let's just go with this;" Commander Caldwell threw all previous plans aside as he turned around and taking something from his storage ring he turned back and continued;

"Aripul, you and Grayson are to go for the guards around the camp and get rid of them while they are unaware."

"Yes, the others will be alerted due the ruckus that will be created, so I will lead you rest and we will go around the back and strike them from there."

"I hope you can sustain through whatever forces that will be sent towards you till we come around." Aripul questioned. Been in the same team with Caldwell for long he knew him more than anyone else and seeing how determined he was then he knew he couldn't change anything.

"Sir," Nate interrupted him.

"Yes?? Do you have any suggestion?" With a low tone he asked. His attitude towards Nate had now changed suddenly why should he now be cold to the next prodigy of his kingdom.

Although still wary of him, I decided to use a system function and help end this battle quickly without taking the risk of losing life.

I had found out that the system shop had mana recovery potions of three different grades;

Since he was sure that he would use his mana pool to the last portion in this battle, he decided to purchase the high grade mana recovery potion and laid out his idea to the Commander Caldwell.

"Commander, I will volunteer to go into the enemy camp passing through the middle. Don't worry, I have a plan that won't disrupt any of yours and I guarantee you that I will come out safely."
