'I wonder how I would be able to unlock it this time,' I thought.

While looking through my status, the surviving members of the team had made it to a safe location

Commander Caldwell with a sad grin on his face looked through the team and said;

"I know we are down on men, only eleven of us left now, but we still have to try our best and complete this mission at hand and find out what the motives of the Humanoids are for infiltrating our land so early."

With this the atmosphere suddenly became lighter as all of our mood was lifted by the sudden speech. Caldwell was a very good commander due to his intelligence and knowledge in giving orders to boost morales.

"We still have some time before sunset, we can rest and recuperate for twenty minutes before continuing the journey. Bare in mind that we are completing this mission."

We all took to our heals and made way to safer location before resting down to recuperate. Because I wasn't hurt and I needed to distribute the healing items to all injured mates I spent the most of my time, leaving me little time before the end of the given limit

Just after sitting down to rest, Grayson walked next to where I was seated and asked;

"Since when did you become a mage I saw what you did?"

"Sincerely, It had not been long since I found out I was able to cast fire balls, about when news about the Humanoids started infiltrating the kingdom started spreading," I half-lied. I don't know why but something within was telling me to

"So that means your core has been activated then?, Congratulations then, but I expected you should have told the Caldwell about this?" with a smirk on his handsome face he questioned.

"I was planning on telling him about it but the news that we were to go on a mission caught me somewhat off guard, and within these days I have been using it for preparation and even my mind was just filled up with so many things…"

"Your core has been activated?" Commander Caldwell managed to overhear us speaking and interrupted. His voice was loud and clear making most of the .

Almost immediately, the soldier I saved who had recuperated to a certain point due to some advanced healing medicines glanced at me and the moment our eyes met he winked t me;

"I believe you are the one who threw that fireball at that Humanoid and saved my life. Thank you so much brother, thank you."

I could hear his voice in my head I became shocked but composed myself when I recalled there was an ability like that

Telepathy!! WHAT....THE??, so all this time we had a telepathic guy amongst us," exclaiming, a light sound escape my mouth as I tried to cover my mouth and hide my expression.

"Ah… it was nothing really, I just did what I had to do for a fellow team member," I thought, not expecting such a reaction from him. I knew he could hear me

"Nate, if I were to guess, then that Humanoid which died at the market square was killed by you?" Caldwell asked.

"Ah yes Commander, I was on my way to the Marques castle before I encountered that Humanoid," I said shyly.

"Ok then, so what Affinity you have other than fire?" Someone asked from aside

'Although I don't want to show off my powers and allow everybody to know too much about me yet, I think I should still tell them about the four basic Affinity in case I was to be seen using them,' I thought with the system and its abilities in mind.

"Surprisingly, Commander, I found out that I have an affinity and I also have a chance to use more Affinity though I can only use the fire element for now," I stated.

Everyone listening was shocked; there were only two mages who were known to use the four basic elements in this world, and only one other person has an affinity with the four elements and even there may be more but they are into hiding and adventuring into the larger worlds, some are one element away from making the previous number become three.

"A… are you serious?" a beardy man asked as awkwardly and I nodded to question.

Commander Caldwell quickly arranged himself after determining within himself to make sure to tell the Marques about it. This was something that has to be known earlier before becoming too late else an upheaval could happen

"We have only 6 minutes of rest left, make good use of it." His words made the remaining soldiers get back to what they were doing while Grayson the other soldiers and I started conversing with each other.

After conversing with the soldier for some time, through which I got to know that his name was Denmark and that he was just assigned to this mission on his own accord. He had a family that he needed to cater for.

Some time later we were making our way to the place which was rumored to hold the Humanoids camp.

On high alert this moment we moved stealthy, Suddenly images of our mounts being arrowed came into view then I thought about what our mounts getting killed meant for me, shhh I would have to be the one tasked with carrying the luggage.

Fortunately, Grayson offered to help and used his storage ring to store some of the luggage for me.

It wasn't everyone that had a storage ring, Storage rings were extremely rare due to the material they were made of, also making their price unsurprisingly high. It had sizes and for which the smallest size could be sold for

'I should get a storage ring as soon as I get the chance, no matter what,' I thought, 'but weren't systems also ought to come with systems items. Or is it inventory?'

[NEW QUEST OBTAINED]

[Kill at least 5 elemental humanoids, with one compulsory earth elemental humanoid.]

[Reward: Activation of system inventory through skill route, unknown (will only be granted if requirements are met).]

[EXP will be earned automatically]

'What… this is the first time I am getting an unknown quest reward, and what's this skill route?' I wondered.

Putting everything else aside, but keeping in mind that I had to kill 5 elemental humanoids, I followed the team and we walked deeper into the forest, everyone at their peak conditions due to various advanced healing potions.

This time, as the group moved more vigilantly and slowly due to the loss of our mounts, we walked for hours until sunset neared, and from the rustling of bushes, dark balls of different sizes were suddenly thrown to us from different directions. Humanoids call themselves great creatures whiles naming us inferior Researched proved that correct on our side as what we can do they can also do that

Humanoids have Affinity types that's fire water earth wind which are the four elementals with some being others like dark energy and this type were rarely seen outside on missions like this

"How do these guys maintain their stealth?" Commander Caldwell screamed asking no one in particular as we all swiftly evaded the incoming attacks.

Five Daiki humanoids quickly approached us, and about fifteen other elemental humanoids also approached slowly from afar, with three among them looking slightly different from the rest.

"Shit, there are grade two elemental humanoids among them, guys, be careful, we can't afford to lose more men. Use the previous strategy, but keep in mind that Nate may or may not assist." Commander Caldwell shouted. He had started to give commands as soon as he saw what was coming.

"Aripul, stay with the mages and assist them in any way you can, the rest of you will be facing those left."

As soon as he finished, the elemental humanoids at the far side threw another set of dark abilities, and while the sword mages evaded it, the mages casted their own fireballs to counter it, the fireballs from my side clashed with their abilities somehow evenly canceling each other out.

When they met, there was a mini explosion with which clouds of dust formed. It seemed there were only four fire mages, with the rest being mages of an element that I do not know but I guessed they would be earth mages.

As the 6 sword mages moved to fight against the 5 Humanoid Daikis, the mages slowly advanced towards the Humanoids, and It even seemed they didn't have any intention retreat either.

Soon, we were at a range where our attacks could easily reach each other, and fireballs and sword auras flew to and fro different directions.

Surprisingly, the remaining 6 humanoid elementals didn't do anything except moving their hands most times, but we seemed to be on the losing side. Thinking of what was happening I decided to have a sense of perception and track out.

As I was not really contributing much in the battle, I just observing all their moves and learning new things. For some time I noticed that whenever the other humanoid dark mages would decide to make a move or do something, a human soldier would slip a bit, disrupting his movements and allowing the enemy to strike him.

"Guys, let me out of the

formation." I shouted out.

"Are you sure, Nate," A man asked not knowing wether to do it.

"Yes," I replied,

noticing something odd about them. Don't worry; I am going to be okay." I assured them.

Reluctantly, Denmark opened the triangle formation, not actually willing to let the next maybe prodigy of their kingdom meet his death at this place.

Taking a look around I could see Grayson fighting calmly but finding it difficult to keep up. Aripul was doing better and the one not bothered was Commander Caldwell.

I exited the triangle formation and maneuvered towards the mages not too far behind the fire mages.

Mid-way, though, a mage came towards me, making the others in number of five left. Skillfully moving my feet using some energy that I had no idea where it came from, I knocked one humanoid away from where the other battles were taking place. Surrounded by five humanoid daiki and their mounts I was still calm. These batch weren't tough but were just in numbers making us surprise.

Drawing out my dagger, I stabbed at the humanoid that evaded my attempt and moved its hand in an unknown position ready to strike. Suddenly, I felt my right leg move forward, making me lose balance and fall toward the humanoid.

With my face positioned towards the ground, all I could see was the earth been moved to a certain point, afraid of what was about to occur I quickly conjured a fireball and threw it toward the feet of the humanoid.

Twisting my body to get more balance I fell on my back instead, then I conjured another fireball and threw towards the waist area of the humanoid that was caught off-guard and still in pain due to the fireball thrown to his leg.

Now two fireballs had been sent toward him but all I could see was his giggling and univocal voice. The suddenly, his laughter turned to fear.

As I didn't want the fireball to just hit his waist area and waste my MP, I tried my best while on the floor to change the direction of the fireball, which surprisingly worked as it caught him off guard. A bit blinded by the abrupt explosion, a system notifications started appearing.
