The matter was supposed to conclude there. However, the elder, still in possession of the token bestowed upon him by his late disciple, believed that despite his disciple's demise, he should at least deliver the token and the accompanying letter to the Holy Lord. He surmised that the letter might contain vital information that the Holy Lord needed to know.
Due to this decision, many years later, the new generation who learned of the elder's actions dubbed him the most foolish elder the Holy Land had ever seen—and for good reason. Why, after the person who had given the letter had died, would one hand it over to the intended recipient without first inspecting its contents? Because of this ill-advised act, the Holy Land was plunged into a catastrophe that devastated the holy land till to this day.
