Chapter 1: Life is Just a Video Game

Amelia Vardo, A 21-year old part-time worker. A gamer, but most importantly a protagonist, did not realize how much her life would change.

"Crap I'm going to be late," Amelia said listlessly. She got up and put her Wcdonald's uniform over her dirty, stained tank-top. She left after polishing the covers of her favorite games and kissing them goodbye. Before she left, she looked at herself in the mirror, she had bags under her yellow eyes, her hair was dark and messy, she still wore a grin with sharp teeth, and the slight smell of failure lingered around her. She scowled at the mirror and walked out the apartment room furiously.

Amelia flipped burgers and fried french fries, but she couldn't help but drool just one bite of these crispy golden strips, no one would mind…, her boss, Ms.Willa growled at her

"THIS IS THE 5th TIME YOU'VE DROOLED ON THE FOOD!"

"Sorr-"

"WE'RE GONNA HAVE TO GO OUT OF BUSINESS IF YOU DON'T STOP!"

"Well it's not my fault I get paid 1 dollar an hour, is it." Amelia glared

"Just go, come back in 3 days."

"Yaaaayyy more games~~~"

Amelia skipped out of the doors and went to the subway.

She was playing angry birds while sitting on the torn seats of the train, not caring about the musty man sitting next to her.

*Beep

A blue screen appeared in front of her, she jumped, startled. It read

It had a green "Yes" button and a red "No" button. She looked around others had the same screen. She clicked "Yes" nervously and a wooden sword appeared in her hand. Another screen popped up which appeared to be showing her "stats"

Amelia gasp why were her stats so high? why is there a stat screen in the first place? what's going on? She thought. Another screen appeared in front of her

[Due to your gaming expertise the Item wooden sword has been changed to Dragon's MageBlade.]

All of a sudden the wooden blade she was holding turned into a long crimson sword with a handle like scales and a big yellow orb in the guard that resembled the eye of a dragon. People stared at her everyone either had wooden daggers, an ax, a wooden sword, or a simple staff.

She looked back to the blue screen which changed it now read

She took a deep breath to calm down "Open Skill Book." she demanded

The blue screen shifted and Amelia started to scroll down, other people were a lot more nervous but Amelia played too many games to be worried.

[Skills: Blade of flames- Dragon's MageBlade turns into a flaming blade that can incinerate anything with Mana lower than the user.

Blazing Boost- increases speed and strength by 200

Intimidation- allows user to paralyze anything with less power than the user for 2 minutes (power level 200-1,000) to 10 minutes (1,000 and above)

Critical damage: When attacking a weak spot power level multiplied by x2 can be used always and with no cooldown if the power level is over 11,000

Duplicate: allowed to create a copy of anything every 2 hours, copied object last 5 minutes if the power level is higher than 12,000

Crimson Dragon's Aura: Nearby enemies get scared of your power, they all attack you for 5 minutes.

Amelia was shocked by her skills, she never expected to be this powerful. "O-Open inventory."

"Equip all," Amelia said, all of the equipment appeared on her the cloak was quite comfy, but when the eyes were equipped she felt a sudden shock but recovered quickly. "Check Class"

Many items can be equipped as long as requirements are met, Skills can be of any dragon that the user has a strong bond with.

Finally, she thought now she could stop looking at these screens and test out this new reality. A yellow arrow appeared in front of her, most likely a quest arrow others had one too some pointed in the same direction some in others.

Once the arrow turned green (indicates she has arrived at her destination) Amelia looked around for someone named Baethulur, thankfully Npc's or whatever you would call them had their names above their heads. Baethulur was an adult man with scales instead of skin, a leather vest, cotton pants, and had gray hair with a short wispy beard "Hello, player! Would you like to accept the Class quest Dragon's Honor?" another screen appeared

[Accept?]

Amelia sighed "Yes" the screen shifted

Since the quest was overachieved the prize is changed]

"Changed?" Amelia was confused reality really has disappeared.

She perked up, finally, something fun happened "Yes"

[ New Skills: Crimson Constructions- allows user to create crimson-colored constructions can be anything if the power level is over 12,000

Eye-based skills:

Detection: Scan others to see their description

Explosion: Cause Explosions by focusing intimidation into your eyes and using it as an attack can be used through hands once the power level is over 13,000

Minions: anyone who stares into your eyes while you give them a command permanently becomes your minion, minions can also be created if materials like clay or scales are available ( must have a magic core)

Forceful: Intimidation is significantly increased to force things into doing something, like opening a locked door or defeating a powerful monster]

"NO! Not now!" she was getting tired of checking her skills all the time. She sighed "Show me next quest."

Amelia looked below her as a magic circle appeared "Guess I'm not walking." she shrugged.

She appeared in a dimly lit room or cave in the middle of it there slept a gigantic dragon, Amelia took a deep breath and shouted "WAKE THE CRAP UP!!" suddenly the cave began to shake as the dragon stood up "How dare a mere mortal disr-" "Intimidation!" Amelia interrupted. The dragon back away "W-what sorcery is this!?"

"Crimson Construction: Spear" a sharp spear appeared in Amelia's hand and she walked up to the dragon "It's not sorcery." she smirked, "It's power!" she threw the spear into the Irgryn's throat and it exploded due to her setting an explosion on it before she threw it.

"Hehe sweet" Amelia walked over to the unconscious dragon and pierced its head with the Dragon's MageBlade.

Boomerang- anything you throw will return to you after it hits the target

Home-in: allows you to throw something that will follow the target until it hits them

Crimson Summon: Call parts of the Crimson Dragon power level must be 100,000 to call the entire Crimson dragon]

"Seems like I'm going to be incredibly powerful soon!" she finished skinning the dragon and stored it in her pocket dimension along with the meat, talons, eyes, and wings which she purposefully did not skin just in case

Except the apartment had been attacked by a giant millipede creature. Other people tried to defeat it including her boss who was wielding a Warhammer. "Detection." multiple screens popped up showing descriptions of all the people in the area

She looked at the millipede

"Ok then, so to defeat this "Millibeast" I need to focus on speed, Open Skill book."

She sighed it's not like she has any other choice "Blazing Boost" Amelia sped up

[Speed and strength increased by 200]

"What power!?" she stabbed the Millibeast and dragged Fate from the tail all the way to the head, tearing the skin of the Millibeast in half. It let out a long, loud screech "Detection." a blue screen popped up next to Amelia

[Target will use Crush]

Her eyes darted back to the monster, she wasn't about to let this thing destroy the apartment, especially not with her minimum wage. "Landmine Boomerang combination!" Amelia threw Fate at it but before Fate could hit it, another person appeared and blocked the blade. "Beastly Wail!" they said. The Millibeast turned to Amelia and let out a horrible screech like the last one but this was louder, stronger, and deadlier. Amelia's ears began to bleed as the Millibeast squeezed the building more and more, little by little. "I am the owner of this creature, YOU SHALL NOT HARM IT!" the figure said as they slowly walked towards Amelia.

"EXPLOSION!" Amelia shouted

"W-what?" the owner looked back

"Ha." Amelia fainted

The Millibeast's back began to grow bigger and bigger until a huge explosion caused it to fall over, torn into pieces.

"WHAT! B-BUT HOW!?" the owner fumed

"Crater Smash!" Ms.Willa shouted

The owner looked at her as she fell onto the ground causing a shockwave with enough pressure that it caused the owner to go flying and left a 2 feet deep and 8-foot wide crater where she fell.

"Take the girl to the hospital". Although she was unconscious Amelia could feel people lifting her up.

Amelia woke up in a bright white room. It was cold and her back was in pain, she tried to sit up but it felt like she had been stabbed a million times.

"You shouldn't move" Ms.Willa walked in

"W-what happened?" Amelia painfully turned her neck

"The screech of that bug broke a few of your bones"

"Hmph, aren't you scared?"

"Of what?"

"THE WORLD JUST BECAME A DANG VIDEO GAME!"

"Oh yeah. Guess you're not aware of anything."

"What?"

"You've been out cold for a month."

"M-MONTH!?"

"Yeah, everyone has gotten used to this now, of course, we don't fully understand it, but we've adapted."

"Oh, ok."

Ms. Willa got up and grabbed her hammer "Well, See you on the flipside!" she jumped out of the window. Amelia sighed, who was the "Owner" of that MilliBeast? How did they control it? She thought. "Ms. Vardo you are ready to be discharged, just take these pills for the next 3 days and you should be fine." A doctor came in and handed her a small white container. Amelia left with a grin on her face I think I'll like life this way she thought, and so she left to begin her next quest.
