Chapter 3

(Y/N)'s P.O.V

We went back to the Tucker's residence two more times so the boy's could read more of the research on bio-alchemy. The second day Ed and Al mostly just played with Nina and Alexander. I sat back and watched the precious scene. After that day it was dreary and down pouring thick droplets of rain. Reminded me of my first memory sending chills up my spine.

The three of us were dropped off and walked up to the door. When Ed knocked there was no answer. After a few more attempts and waiting outside we decided to go in and investigate.

"You two search around up here and the second floor, I will check downstairs." I said walking away. As I neared the entrance to Tucker's lab my feeling of uneasiness grew exponentially. I stopped at the door taking in a breath then opened the door.

"Oh! It is you, come look!" Tucker said with a strange look on his face.

I walked closer from the door, it closing behind me. Then I saw some sort of creature, looked like a dog with long brown hair....

"I finally made a chimera that can talk! I will definitely be able to keep my state certification now." Tucker said.

The creature came closer to me "Pretty....(F/C) hair....s-issy...." It said. My eyes widened the size of saucers.

"You didn't....you monster." I growled through gritted teeth.

"I am the monster? I know everything about you (F/N) (L/N)." Tucker sneered. My breath hitched.

"I don't know what you are talking about. How is it you know my name?" I asked.

"Figures....Did you really think coloring your hair and wearing some silly little mask and hood hid you as well as you think it does? So foolish child." Tucker said then grabbed me by the throat and ripped off my mask.

I grunted and closed my eyes. "So Tucker, what is your gain here?" I asked

"Well if I delivered you to the Fuhrer I am sure that will be a bonus to add to my state certification." Tucker said. As soon as I heard those words I started using my nails to scratch at his hand clasped around my throat.

"No way in hell would I let you do that. You are a god damn murderer and I have been trying my damn hardest to stay hidden." I growled, wrapping my legs around Tucker's arm and twisting myself out of his grip.

I jumped away from him but not fast enough. Tucker grabbed my hair then back handed me and kneed me on the gut. I fell to the floor coughing then spitting up a little blood.

Tucker grabbed me once more throwing me in a cage in another room. He closed the door to that room after of course making sure I wouldn't scream for help.

"Oh there you are Tucker, thanks for letting us come back today." I heard Ed say walking into the room with Tucker.

I listened hearing Tucker proudly tell Ed about the creature he mercilessly put together. I heard Al walk in as well then the chimera started talking.

"Big....big brother Ed." I heard it say. I tried to free myself from the restraints Tucker used on me but was getting next to no where.

I kept listening and then heard yelling once Ed figured out how Tucker made the creature. My eyes narrowed getting fed up with this. I snapped my fingers melting the metal of the cage then busted down the door with an explosion.

"Karma!" Al exclaimed. My eyes darkened seeing the now beaten up Tucker. I saw him try and crawl for his pocket watch so I snapped my fingers and the flames ate away at the pocket watch. The pocket watch exploding into broken parts and gears.

"You sully the right to be an Alchemist. Pathetic creature." I said looking down at the man. I looked over at Ed who had tears in his eyes seeing what had happened to Nina. I walked over to him and knelt down beside his quivering form and put a hand on his shoulder.

"I am sorry Ed, we can't do anything for her now." I said my head hung low. He turned to me then clung to me in an embrace. As shocked as I was he was hugging me I returned the gesture trying to sooth him. After that the military was called and Tucker was arrested.

Roy was one of the first responders. I saw him walk in and looked at him while still hugging Ed.

"Come on let's go outside." I said getting up. As I passed Roy he handed me his jacket and in the pocket was another mask. I put on the jacket and the mask, headed outside in the pouring rain. I sat beside Ed on the steps his brother by his side.

We were eventually escorted back to our rooms at command. I felt awful about what just occurred but it seemed to be hitting Fullmetal a whole lot more than me or Al. I decided to get out of the putrid room and take my thoughts out with the rain.

As I was sitting I heard footsteps nearing. I looked behind me just in time to avoid an attack, but just barely.

"Are you the Crimson Karma Alchemist?" The man asked.

"I would say you already know that." I said my hood falling off leaving me even less protected against the rain.

Since it was raining I knew I was unable to use my alchemy.

"Damn it" I mumbled.

The man went to attack again I dodged and started running.

"You can't escape! This is your fate. You must repent for your sins!" The man shouted.

"Not by the likes of you!" I shouted in response. As I was running I saw the boy's run out to see what the commotion was about.

"Damn it run!" I yelled grabbing them by their arms. I saw Ed try and use his alchemy to get the guy off our trail but nothing seemed to work. We ran into an ally but the man chasing us blocked us in.

"I am assuming you are the Fullmetal Alchemist? Makes this easier for me." The man said. I stood in front of the boys.

"I am gonna fight him first you try and get out of here!" I exclaimed throwing my jacket off as well as the one Roy gave me on top of it.

Ed got the great idea to transmute a weapon and go to attack him. The man dodged his attack ready to pull one of his own but Al got in the way, his armor being demolished partially.

"Al!" Ed shrieked. Ed ran to attack, the man tried to destroy his arm in the process but it didn't work.

He took off his jacket and the man saw the auto mail arm. The man got ready for another attack, one that would actually immobilize Ed so I jumped in before the mans hand touched Ed's arm. In a quick second burn marks covered my arm. I assume that attack was meant for metal.

Seizing the opportunity the man grabbed my arm and attacked again, my arm becoming obsolete. This time he changed his attack to destroy flesh.

I screamed in pain but bit my tongue.

"Karma! Why did you do that?! You dumbass!" Ed shouted.

"You need to get your brother out of here! I will hold him off. Don't argue just listen!" I shouted

"You are just as gutsy as the boy, sacrificing your own arm to save him." The man said.

The man threw me aside and grabbed a metal rod from the rubble. "I will come back to you after I finish off Fullmetal." He said sticking the rod in the side of my stomach.

"You bastard!" Ed shouted. Ed came running at the man but the man grabbed his arm. The man destroyed Ed's arm so now he couldn't transmute.

"Leave him alone!" I shouted.

"Brother!!!!" Al shouted.

"Please just don't hurt my brother." Ed begged as the man drew closer to him.

"If he doesn't interfere then his life shall be spared." The mans hand hovered over Ed's head but was stopped at the sound of a gunshot.

"Stop right there Scar!" I heard Roy's voice shout. I couldn't see what was happening since I was pinned to the ground in the alley.

Suddenly a fight broke out and I heard the strong arm alchemist join in too.

I ripped off my mask, it wasn't the easiest to breath in when in distress, and attempted to pull the rod out but all it did was cause me more pain as more blood gushed from the wound. I heard numerous explosions and racket. Then it became silent.

I heard soldiers run to our aid. I saw not just Roy run to my side but Maes too.

"Hurry we need immediate medical attention!" Roy shouted then looking back at me.

"Damn it, I should have gotten here sooner." Roy said grabbing my hand and squeezing it gently.

"She saved me. I could be in a lot worse shape if she didn't throw herself in front of me." Ed said as he hobbled over to us.

"That's our girl. Always sacrificing herself for others even when she doesn't know them. I kinda wish you went back to being that shy little girl." Maes said giving me a sad smile.

"I will be fine, just take the damn rod out. After it is out Roy seal the would with your flames." I said seeing the skies clear up. The two males looked at each other then complied hesitantly.

Maes grabbed the rod and pulled it out then as soon as it was out Roy snapped his fingers and closed the wound forcefully with the heat.

I barely screamed through the whole thing. As soon as it was done I wrapped my severed arm with a piece of my shirt then shakily stood up with help from Roy.

As we walked towards the brothers we saw Al punch Ed not once but twice, calling him an idiot. He wasn't wrong I fully agreed. I felt bad though I couldn't do more for Al since his body was in bad shape.

Soon we were taken back to headquarters. I was patched up but refused to stay in bed. We were informed that the man trying to kill us was a man named Scar, hunting state alchemists for his own personal vengeance whether or not they were involved in the Ishvalan war.

"So what are you boys gonna do now?" Maes asked.

"Well before we can fix Al's body we gotta fix up my arm. I guess we have no choice but to visit our mechanic. It has been a while." Ed said sweat dropping a bit.

"Do you mind if I go with you? I think I'm gonna need a new one too haha...." I said weakly. Ed looked at my arm, guilt ridden all over his face.

"Yeah, of course. I bet my mechanic would be more than happy to build you a new one." Ed said with a sad smile. We all left to get packed for the trip but before Ed could walk off I pulled him to the side.

"Hey, I can see it clear as day. You feel guilty for what happened to me. Don't be, please." I said giving him a smile.

Ed stared at me for a moment, that was when I realized I didn't have a mask on. I looked away awkwardly and cleared my throat, taking him out of his daze.

"You risked your life to save mine, I am grateful but you lost a part of your body because of it. I can't just brush that aside." Ed said looking down at the floor.

I sternly grabbed him with my right good arm and looked into his glowing golden eyes. "You were the idiot that didn't run, but either way I would have done the same thing over again. If I can save someone I will." I said then walked off, more of a limp and went to go pack.
